Plays on the website telling people he had 2 Michelin stars. The truth is the food is really not that great compared to your local Indian takeaway. I am very disappointed with the food. The meat, chicken and also the vegetable curry was totally overcooked and mushy. I was not expecting this at all. Just another site making money without a thought about quality.

I always enjoy watching Aktar on TV, so why not try his dishes. As Asian food enthusiasts, I can honestly say, this is the best take-away we have ever eaten. I'm so pleased we tried the mini curry box as it is perfect for 2 people having a lazy weekend.So simple to prepare, only additions were a squeeze of lemon and some fresh coriander..perfect in every way.
The variety was amazing, a massive fan of the beef vindaloo, it truly was exceptional, as were the other dishes.
I will never select my own order, as it is a fantastic way to try new dishes and the surprise element is part of the dining experience.
We will be ordering again, very soon. Packaging and delivery were excellent.

We ordered waaay too much. The portions are so generous! Unbelievably though we somehow managed to scoff the lot (after loosening our waistbands!!).

Leg of lamb was sensational (actually cooked this on low for five hours in spite of the recipe saying 110mins and I think it was probably better this way). Chicken Korma was 10 stars. Makhani Daal was moorish and I had to have it wrestled off me.

Rice, naan, samosas, prawn curry…. Everything totally exceeded expectations. Never going to order curries from anywhere else. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ordered a box which contained a variety of meat and veggie dishes plus naan and rice, absolutely delicious!! Delivery arrived promptly and food was still frozen. Will definitely order again!!!

The food from Aktarathome is absolutely wonderful with authentic taste and no compromise. The food itself deserves 5-Stars.
We live in N.E. Scotland. So far the food has never been delivered when promised; it has always been a day later.
This is rather inconvenient, because we have to stay in on the day promised and then again for the day of delivery.
Perhaps this can be rectified. We do not want to lose the pleasure the food generates.

This is without doubt the best home delivered Indian dinner you can order. Incredible quality, fantastic portions and just delicious. We have tried the mixed box and the veggie box and both are stunning and it is nice to have a surprise of dishes especially when you are entertaining. Highly recommend.

I have been a convert of AKTAR at HOME for several years and all the way through ordering of the menu, to the desired food arriving still frozen !👍on my doorstep is nothing short of fantastic. Congratulations to the entire team, a total business success story as well as awesome quality in the taste .

We have been ordering Aktar at home curries since lock down . We are never disappointed. I am surprised to see some of the poor reviews . Beautifully spiced , excellent value and gr8 delivery service .

We’ve ordered their curries a couple of times now for a special occasion and it never fails to impress. The curries are delicious, well portioned and plenty of meat / prawn / paneer in each of the dishes we ordered. A massive step up from local takeaways and good value too

At first glance this does look like one of the more expensive meal boxes out there but the portion sizes are really good. I've ordered from Gusto, Simmer, Frive and Hello Fresh and been pretty appalled at what they think is an appropriate meal size. Also, this is from a Michelin starred chef!! I couldn't believe how tasty it all was. 10 meals in our box, 4 large rotis. It's better than all of the takeaways serving similar style foods in my area.

Very nervous to read about changes to how curries are frozen but my regular delivery has just arrived after being two days in transit. All curries properly frozen and all went directly into my freezer. Well packed, as always, delivery on time. Portion sizes are always generous and taste delicious.

There are conflicting elements to Aktar meals/service, some are good whilst others not so good.

Good:
the meals are a good quality
well packaged
good portion size

Not so good:
unable to select curries when choosing the multiple meals in a box option
dhal makni was more like a thick soup
naan breads were flat/thin i.e disappointing
overly spiced, requiring yogurt to tame the heat

Overall:
Disappointed. We still have meals in the freezer, but, sadly, not planning to eat them! Consequently, will not be ordering again, nor recommending to friends.

Amazing food. Generous portions. Arrived on time. Even the nans travel well. On opening the box, it did "feel" a bit like I had bought a ready meal from the supermarket. But I soon got over that. I would rather buy and cook this when I want it than order a take away. One thing I would do is make oven heating simpler. Perhaps make the container oven proof. Still 5 stars for the food alone.

This was some of the best Indian food that I have ever tasted. The flavours were first class and such good portion sizes as well. No problem with the delivery. I did have a payment query which Customer Services quickly resolved. I shall have no hesitation in reordering.

Large order meant for the freezer, meant to arrive today. Now delayed by dhl....customer service sarcastic and unhelpful. Paid £10.00 delivery for designated day. Will not order again.

I’m astonished that Aktar hasn’t an average of 5stars. We’ve ordered food several times now, including the famous leg of lamb, and can only say how wonderful it has all been. Subtle flavours; generous portions; we’d rate it outstanding in every way.

Just taken delivery of our Valentine box , as with all the other orders I have had brilliant!
Generous portions, clear instructions and well packaged.
Cannot recommend his dine at home meals highly enough we have purchased quite a few now .
All have been delicious and very good value.

I ordered the lamb for New Years Eve and arranged for it to be delivered on 30th as per their recommendation (to have it delivered the day before required). It was delayed and delivered on New Years Eve. The leg of lamb was frozen solid and would not defrost in time for the party on New Years Eve which ruined the evening. I contacted the company and they couldn’t have cared less - they advised at 5pm to put it in water to try and defrost it and hoped I had a good night! Appalling customer service and will never purchase from them again.

I have been trying for several weeks to buy 2 gift vouchers. Link doesn’t work and inspire of several emails ( there is no phone no) I have had no reply. So unfortunately Aktar you have lost several large orders. We won’t be ordering
