We moved into this flat only 8 months ago and we're already exhausted of dealing with Akelius and Streamline. The problems started on day 1, with the washing machine broken. Even though the flat had been empty for a while, they only changed it two weeks after we moved in. Among quite a few other issues, we had mould in the winter and the specialist told them the foggy windows were contributing to it and should be changed. That was February. Streamline sent the same guy twice to take the measurements and then said they'd need to install temporary windows. Now, in June, they sent another person who didn't know which window panels to change and had only 3, when we need to have 5 or 6 changed. So he simply left. It's impossible to get hold of them on the phone, and they always end up sending an email apologising and rescheduling the works for the umpteenth time.

Akelius came to my attention when I was looking for a property to rent; an advertisement for a charming one-bed property caught my eye. I am writing this review both from a user experience and from a professional perspective (having worked extensively across Local Authority housing including developing policies for working with the private sector and developers to bring empty properties back into use for emergency accommodaiton ).

I have been amazed at the level of tenant-care prvided by this company and its staff (at every level) througout the process, from initial enquiry to viewing, on-onboarding and post tenancy start. Staff showed the highest levels of professionalism, alleviating all my anxieties renting in the private sector for the first time. All my questions were promptly and politely responded to.

Akelius left no stone un-touched in following due process - from identity checks, to referencing, inventory, and providing all relevant information for example, where my tenancy deposit is being held.

The property met my expectations; it was exactly as shown in the photos, the property is modern and refurbished to a high standard. I've had calls from Akelius staff about annual safety checks and have also had to log something small (a remote needing a special battery) and this was acknowledged very quickly.

Summing up the service and quality of the accommodation - Akelius is very transparent and operates similarly if not better than some Housing Associations out there.

A tenant for almost one month, I feel safe in my home and am confident that going forward if there are any issues these will be addressed by my Landlord and I look forward to continuing a great landlord/tenant relationship with Akelius.

I have no hesitation in recommending Akelius to any prospective tenants.

Horrid conditions, a nightmare to get anything fixed, and they treat you with utter contempt. Do yourself and your mental health a favour and rent another place, just make sure it is not through Akelius.
