Omg I am a customer of AIB for 17yrs.. today I got through a women Rosaline Woolridge was her name..a horrible girl to deal with.. we rang to try and get an account for a relative currently residing in Ireland. After all procedures cause I was nearby to try help with English the girl was extremely rude and didn't want to process with opening the account..the more we been blocked trying to open and account..that girl need serious training to deal with customer..we turned to bank of Ireland instead so.

Everything takes ages. You also cannot count on being helped in the branch - all they say to do it online yourself. I wasted so much time trying to do basic things as opening an account etc. Products not working straight away. Very disappointed overally. As a Polish person I’ll tell you one thing, Irish banks are 100 years behind Polish ones… really.

Can’t add international payee

I have been a customer of your bank for 13 years.
I have to transfer money to Estonia several times per month for my mother.
And i don’t understand why I can’t add this transaction to payee?
And i can’t do easy transactions from aib app. Every single transaction i have to use browser. Find my mom’s details, find my bank card , find my card reader, fill the transaction form and use this special tool ( card reader) . There is no any option to save this transaction. Why it is still so complicated in 2024 😔

Money that was previously ordered .after being told come and collect it ..and queuing for 10 minutes to be told I have to come back as the safe does not open until 10.30. And que again...
Mortgage app is a nightmare. You need to find the right rep in support
AIB has legitimately the worse app ever made for document upload. It is a customer experience nightmare. Struggling with an IT bug they mentioned but nothing has been done in weeks to help us out.
Reaching out to support is useless as they will bounce you back into endless loops.
If you find comparable rates with other banks please save yourself some time as AIB is not interested in doing business with you.
Update. Issue resolved, I finally found someone competent that ticked the right setting and the portal was unstuck again. My tip is keep on calling until they help

Terrible Service
went to branch to open a deposit account.After waiting a considerable time to make contact with any staff I was told that I needed an appointment to do so. I could only get one for a week later. I arrived for my appointment only to have difficulty making contact with any staff. After about a half hour a man who turned out to be the manager approached me. A member of staff was then sent to deal with me. I was told that the person that my appointment was with was out sick & to make another appointment. No question of my being contacted to advise of this. Next appointment met with a cranky lady who advised that I must have a current account to set up a deposit account. This was set up & I was told to open the deposit account online myself. Attempts made to sell me all types of financial products. Identification papers given to them on first visit lost
In branch customer service
Met a really helpful girl at customer service at the Athy branch today 23/09/2024. I was having an ongoing issue with my AIB app so I called in before lunch and it was all sorted in 10 mins. She was very patient, pleasant and a pleasure to deal with.
Scammers
What goes right with them they scam their customers with messages like we are waiving your fees only to be hit by 66 euro quarterly fee in the same quarter they tell you your fees are waived
I have to laugh at the outdated system…
I have to laugh at the outdated system the AIB use. I needed to pay a bill from my internet provider. Got the IBAN number off them and tried paying in the app. Denied, phoned AIB and I was told I would have to add them as a bill paying company. But that would have to be done online with the random reader thing, because of security reasons. Haven't used that little thing in years and the battery was dead. Was told they would send a new one, would get it in 3-5 working days. Needed to pay today as I'm off on holiday for 3 weeks. I could drive 8km to the bank and pick up a new one. They did suggest I call the internet provider and pay over the phone. So let me get this straight, I can't use the AIB app to simply add a company to be able to pay a bill because of security reasons but they think its safe to give some unknown guy in a call centre in Mumbai my full name, address, d.o.b., phone number, bank card number, expiry date AND card security code.... is the AIB gone off its rocker?

Have being on to AIB customer service 3 times over last 2 weeks due to issues with my card. I would like to commend each person I dealt with. They were all so knowledgeable and so helpful, and all Irish. A complete different experience to other call centres that gave been outsourced where I unfortunately, experience issues with dialect. I have now mastered the task of getting through to speak to a representative so that would be my only small reservation in recommending them as not very easy trying to get there! Well done to all on the other end of the phone.

I've been with AIB for more than 20 years. I cannot rate them highly enough. Their customer service is great. Very helpful to me recently when I had huge issue talked me through it and resolved everything very quickly. I am so grateful for their help and speedy service. Customer for life.
Existing customers 30 years trying to…
Existing customers 30 years trying to open a joint account with my wife who is also AIB customer complete joke. One staff tell you can only open in a branch make am appointment then told only on line. Issues with their system . Aib staff eventually help and inform me no more actions on our behalf. Account will be active in few days. 10 data layer receive email inforinng me accounts cancelled???
Although I am not a native English…
Although I am not a native English speaker, I am generally satisfied with my ability to speak English. When I was on the phone with the mortgage advisor, she was speaking extremely fast, and sometimes I needed to pause before answering the questions because bank terminology is complicated even in my native language. As she put me on hold, even the advertising was amusing, I could hear her commenting on my English to someone else.
"Her English is very bad."
It is true that my English is not as good as that of native speakers, but I was able to graduate from college, obtain a good job, and have many friends from Ireland. It was a very disappointing event for me. It makes me feel so sad.
AIB should increase the advertising volume or train its staff to not comment customer's imperfections.
