After I called and emailed my problem was resolved and hopefully I’ll get a refund from them as promised
Total SCAM!!!!
Ordered one item and now they are taking money from my account every month!
DO NOT USE!!!!
I received an email purporting to be from Screwfix asking me to complete a survey for a chance to win a Stanley toolkit. I completed the survey and was told I had won a kit.
I've worked in IT for 25 years and am ashamed that my techy senses didn't tingle (I blame Covid brain fog and the fact that I viewed the mail on my phone). They requested a payment of £2 to cover admin so I entered my details and was subsequently charged £1.78. The web page told me I would have the kit in a week. It never arrived.
Today I (finally) did my due diligence. When viewed through a browser it became almost immediately clear that the mail had a spoofed address and wasn't from Screwfix. Similarly the survey page wasn't Screwfix's, just a very good facsimile.
I contacted the support address quoted in their reply to another negative review, but haven't had a reply so far. If they do reply and refund me, I'll amend this review. If they don't, I'll be reporting the fraud to my bank. It's a trivial amount of money, but recovering the money is a matter of principle.
Give these guys a wide berth.
Update: They’ve just taken an additional £6.90! Reporting to the fraud department at my bank first thing tomorrow. Further updates to follow.
FINAL UPDATE: I contacted my bank and shared the originating email and screen captures of the various faux Screwfix survey fields and subsequent screens requesting card details. They cancelled my card to prevent further withdrawals and refunded me the £6.90. The company are based in Cyprus which the bank fraud team told me is currently a hotbed for this kind of fraud. I don't want to interact with After Hours Hobby any further so am ignoring their reply below because they are clearly a bad faith actor.
FINAL, FINAL UPDATE: I received a call from After Hours Hobby who wanted to chastise me for posting on here rather than contacting them directly and to apologise for the confusion. I pointed out that I was hardly likely to engage with people who had scammed money from me. They pleaded ignorance on how the scam traffic ended up at their site and said they would refund me the payments already made, which they did. The conversation was a little circular, but the effort they put in to the call left me wondering if they were in fact a genuine drop-shipping business. Perhaps they are, but I can only speak to my experience. Since that call, I've been emailed and called again asking me to change this review, hence this update. Make of the saga what you will...

UPDATED 27 December 2023 - see addition at bottom of review.
Similar to Peter Langley below, my 84-year-old wife was filling in a form at Temu on 19 December when she was suddenly redirected to the afterhourshobby web site. Not knowing what it was, she ignored the page and backed out, abandoning the process she was going through at Temu. On the evening of 24 December she noticed that a deduction of £1.98 was taken on 19 December and paid to afterhours hobby from her bank account. Three days later a further £33.00 was debited. Upon querying this with the chat assistant at the afterhourshobby web site just after midnight on Christmas morning, a circular and rather pointless discussion ensued where she was told she must have signed up because the Terms & Conditions had been agreed to - but SHE IS ADAMANT SHE NEVER SIGNED UP FOR IT. Afterhourshobby had set up an account for her using her name, email address, postal address and bank details WHICH WE SURMISE CAN ONLY HAVE BEEN PASSED ON TO THEM BY TEMU. The afterhourshobby account is now set to be cancelled on 2 January, before the next "top-up" fee is to be taken on 7 January, and the chat assistant was very evasive (we're not even sure if it was a real human or an AI assistant), never confirming there was any way her money could be returned, insisting that she had agreed to the Ts & Cs and therefore their hands were effectively tied. At 1:45am on Christmas morning we temporarily gave up due to exhaustion and frustration - but we intend to pursue claiming this money back, which was taken under false pretences. Our advice is to BE VERY WARY OF THIS COMPANY.
UPDATE 27 December 2023 - my wife emailed support at afterhourshobby.com yesterday, and Violet replied, saying that my wife could have a refund, but that it was contingent upon me editing my review to say I was satisfied with this outcome, and changing my Star Rating from 1 to 3 or more - and even then, the refund might not happen, in which case I could change my review again. Before she could frame a written reply, Violet rang me on my mobile this morning to essentially say the same thing to me. I told her I was very unhappy with this suggestion, and that they should refund the money first before I'd consider agreeing to this. However, she was adamant that her line manager would not agree to this and he'd want the review changed first. So I have reluctantly agreed, hence this update and my change of Star Rating from 1 to 3. We now expect the money to be refunded within the next three working days.

Scam … took a small payment for postage on a bogus free item. Then within 3 days took another payment for £29. Froze my card. Reached someone online who said ld signed up for membership to a shopping group. I did no such thing. Refused me a refund and said l had credits to spend and would cancel my membership. I was unable to sign in to spend my credits as l had no password. They then sent me one… not had time to get onto the site to see what rubbish l might end up with to spend my credits. Then literally two days later they have tried to take another £30…good job l left my card frozen. I will report again but l don’t hold out much hope.
Having now left my review and seen everyone else’s it would have been blatantly obvious l was going to be scammed if l’d read them first. But how can you check for reviews when you have no idea who you are dealing with prior to making the small payment. Nothing shows up until after they take the second payment …. It all very devious. I’m going to contact the bank and fraud dept.
15.12.23
To update… a nice lady called Violet has spoken to me today and has made a full refund to my original card… waiting for my bank to receive the funds atm but she was very apologetic about the experience l’ve had and is aware the website needs to be more informative and transparent about the way it works.

I would definitely warn against getting engaged with this company.
I believed I’d made a small purchase (luggage) from an entirely different company via Facebook. Was told I’d get an email confirmation and a follow up call; got neither but noticed Afterhourshobby was shown on my credit card statement.
Contacted After Hours via online chat; patently I’d been scammed as After Hours don’t sell luggage, but After Hours had been supplied with my credit card details.
Contacted the bank and payments were blocked, After Hours had taken a second payment without any authority from me.
Bank decided to close my card account to protect it from further fraud.
Don’t touch with a barge pole…
UPDATE (27/11/23):
I have received several requests from After Hours asking me to alter or remove my review.
I stand by it and it’s accuracy.
It seems to me that third party companies (or individuals) are incentivised to recruit business for After Hours. Those third parties simply scam unwittingly members of the public into providing their credit card on some spurious fictional offer, and the credit card details are then passed on to After Hours who presumably assume those cards relate to genuine clients who actually want to sign-up to After Hours membership services.
Whatever the truth behind the “business arrangement” between After Hours and the apparent scammers would require others to investigate, but on the face of it After Hours appear to be being used as a vehicle for duping unwitting members of the public. That particular client recruitment method should be shut down urgently as it is so patently open to abuse.

Stay away! Trying to scam you into a subscription service.

This is a scam company. They send a survey email, offer free goods. Then take a small payment, bit if you don’t cancel your card, they’ll take more later. I cancelled, stupidly misread original email.

After receiving an email from what I thought was my local supermarket, Kaufland, to answer a few questions to win a power drill I was duped into paying a €2 postal payment for a power drill that I had won. 3 days later I the card was debited by a website called Afterhourshobby.com for a subscription to a members club for discounted purchases. A following email informed me that this subscription will renew every 14 days. To cancel the subscription I would need to create an account, and log in, which I am not prepared to do. The company. Behamer Trading Ltd is based in Cyprus and runs at least one more scamming website called Mashskincare.com. Its time that the authorities closed down this firm.
