I started at Zeamoon Audio Academy 6 months ago, and I’m really happy with how much I’ve learned so far. The program is professional, well-structured, and has helped me improve my music production skills a lot. Simon is an amazing teacher who showed me a different approach to music production and changed my perspective on the creative process. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience for me.

If you struggle to achieve a professional sound and feel lost in the endless sea of plugins with countless adjustable parameters, Zeamoon Audio Academy is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Before I joined, I had already been producing for nearly 10 years, but I never consistently reached the pro sound I was aiming for. Sometimes I got lucky and stumbled upon the right combination of parameters for my sounds—but other times, not so much…

What I was missing was a structured approach to mixing and the knowledge of what truly matters and what doesn't. (For example, you don’t need fancy plugins at the beginning of the mixing process before you've even fixed the essentials.)

Simon taught me the hierarchy of what’s important in mixing and how to embrace a minimalistic, efficient approach—fix the sound with as few plugins as possible. Most plugins come with endless parameters, but in reality, you often only use a few. So, pick plugins that get the job done without being overwhelmed by parameters—fewer parameters mean fewer chances to mess things up.

During the course, these essentials will stick in your brain because Simon always breaks down mixing problems into this structured way of thinking. At some point, it just clicks, and mixing problems become a thing of the past. I can now mix even the weirdest, most abstract synth lines with lots of dynamics—something I could never properly process before. This has massively increased my creative freedom since I'm no longer limited by technical hurdles.

Since Simon also masters tracks for many big labels in the scene, he’s well-connected—every major player knows him, and he knows everyone. That means endless networking opportunities for your music career.

For me, taking this course was an essential step—I should have done it earlier instead of confusing myself with contradicting content on YouTube. The 1-on-1 sessions quickly fix your individual mixing mistakes, while the weekly group calls hammer the basics into your mind in different ways—either by analyzing and improving a student's mix as a group (so you also learn from others’ mistakes) or by breaking down one of Simon’s own successful tracks to understand what made it work. Many other topics are covered as well. The online content is always there as a fallback whenever you forget something or feel unsure.

All three learning modes are structured in a way that reinforces the same fundamental principles through repetition. The course is designed so well didactically that the knowledge truly sticks, making the learning process both effective and intuitive.

Simon, the instructor, has a great background on music production from work in professional studios to running through the ranks of underground music scenes with multiple names as well as a great mentor background as well being mentored himself and creating mentors as well.
