Still Going Strong After 14+ Years — Says It All

I actually paused before writing this review to check how long I’ve been with Y Live Community (formerly PopulusLive)… and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for what I found.

My first completed survey? 19th December 2011.

I genuinely sat there for a moment thinking, “That can’t be right.” But apparently, I’ve been doing surveys with them for well over a decade — which probably makes this the longest relationship I’ve ever successfully maintained. So that alone should tell you something.

Now, what’s the experience actually been like over all those years?

In short: consistently solid.

One thing that really sets them apart is the completion rate. With most survey platforms, you spend half your time answering screening questions only to be told, “Sorry, you don’t qualify.” It’s frustrating, and honestly, a bit soul-destroying. With Y Live Community, though, I’d say around 90–97% of the surveys they send actually let you complete them. That’s massively higher than most other platforms, where you’re lucky if it’s 50–60%.

So right there, you’re not wasting your time — and that counts for a lot.

As for payouts: they’re reliable, but not instant. Once you redeem, it usually takes around 10–12 days to receive your payment. Would I prefer it faster? Absolutely. In a world where everything is instant, waiting nearly two weeks can feel a bit outdated. It would be great if they introduced something more automated — maybe scheduled monthly payouts straight to your bank account.

But here’s the key point: they always pay.

No chasing. No issues. No “mysterious delays.” Just steady, dependable payouts every time.

And honestly, that reliability is probably why I’m still here after all these years. I’ve tried plenty of other survey sites, and most don’t even come close in terms of consistency or usability.

It’s not perfect — there’s definitely room for improvement — but it does exactly what it promises, and it does it well.

At this point, it’s basically part of my routine. I can genuinely see myself continuing with them indefinitely… or at least until I finally decide I’ve answered enough surveys about biscuits, banking habits, and political opinions to last a lifetime.

Final thoughts / wish list:

If I could change just two things, it would be these. First, speed up the payments — 10–12 days feels unnecessarily slow in 2026. Second (and this is personal, but strongly felt), please change the name back to PopulusLive. I know the rebrand to Y Live Community came from user feedback, but I’ve never liked it — in fact, I hate it. It’s longer, harder to remember, and after more than a decade using the old name, my brain still automatically types “PopulusLive” every time I search for it. The new name just doesn’t stick.

I find this is one of the better sites…

I find this is one of the better sites and you get paid out faster than most sites as they pay better for your time.the same as other sites in that you have to go through the same questions a lot but most surveys are relevant to you and you don’t get turned down as much as some

No longer eligible after first payout

I finally received my £50 which took just under 3 months to build up, no problem.

But ever since I reached the payment threshold (and was able to do two more surveys), I no longer am eligible to complete any surveys with the company.

I am very appalled because I enjoy taking surveys for this company but ever since I've been paid only once, they don't want me anymore.

It feels like they only want you until you get your first payment, and then block you afterwards.

I feel very disrespected and have been forced to join other survey companies because Y Live just don't want me anymore.

We send more invites than the actual number of respondents we need. This is because some people tend to answer quicker, others do it slower and some do not respond at all. If we have a certain window to get the results, we tailor the number of invites to the expected response in a given time period.

On some occasions you could receive this message if there is heavy traffic on the website, i.e. members with similar demographic profile are trying to log in at the same time. In such circumstances we recommend that you attempt to log back in 30-40 minutes later to see if the survey is still open for your demographic profile.

Great experience

I have been a member of y live community for some time, I love the fact that I don’t have to claim my reward, it is paid straight into my bank account as soon as I have completed the requisite number of surveys.

I've had a couple of £50 rewards..

I've had a couple of £50 rewards... the only frustrating thing is occasionally you enter in details and then you're told you're ineligible for a survey.. so it's a waste of a few minutes. However to get 50.00 after doing a number of surveys is great.. takes a while but 50 is 50 for something that's not really hard work!

Interesting surveys to complete for a cash payment

I have been a member of the Y Live community for some time now and would recommend it to any one wanting to be involved. They offer a range of interesting and topical surveys for a cash payment which accrues to a £50 payment over time should you complete enough of them.

Great survey site

Definitely one of the better survey sites. Rewards are paid promptly and, if you are screened out, it happens at the beginning, not towards the end.

A great way to earn some extra pennies…

A great way to earn some extra pennies on a fairly regular basis. I've been with Y Live for a number of years and it is one of the best survey companies in terms of rewards for time taken, and they pay you reliably too.

Lots of interesting reviews. Sometimes it takes quite a time to answer all the initial questions before being informed the survey is not available to you. It always takes longer than suggested to complete the review. Payment process works very well.

The best survey company …

Have now been a person who has used this for many years . I have never had any problems with YLIVE always paid for surveys taken and one of the best survey companies which I will always give my opinion. Keep going hope they do not get to an age range as I enjoy
