Yay had their extortion team at Copytrack come after me over an image from Adobe stock photos. Yay you don't own all images everywhere! You've earned your 1 star standing.

Paid 25 euro for 50 credits, never got the credits I paid for.

Sends fraudulent copyright notices. This company aggressively tried to demand payment for legally purchased stock photos from other sources.

Utterly unethical business in conjunction with copytrack.
How they not been charged for criminal false advertising is beyond me with the countless cases seen online with how they do business, all free to use images then come after you for copyright infringement.

Title: Absolutely the worst platform for contributors – avoid at all costs!

As a stock photographer who transferred my portfolio after the Panthermedia acquisition in 2024, I was initially hopeful based on their promises. What a mistake! Sales are virtually non-existent, with earnings so low they're practically insulting compared to other agencies.

Support is non-existent; inquiries go unanswered for weeks, and when I tried to withdraw my (meager) earnings, the KYC verification process kept failing with server errors, rising minimun payout, leaving my money stuck.
YAY Images treats contributors like an afterthought. If you're a photographer looking to earn from your work, stay far away – there are much better, more reliable platforms out there.

Highly disappointing and unprofessional.

Scummy, shady practices. Trying to bully people into paying them along with copytrack.

A very dishonest microstock agency, where practically nothing is sold, and which claims that you cannot collect your royalties if you close your account! It's a disgrace and this agency is the worst I have ever seen.

The use bad business practices to extort money from those using images from other providers. The worst kind of company.

Achtung für Fotografen – meine Erfahrungen waren sehr negativ.

Meine Fotos wurden nach der Übernahme von PantherMedia automatisch auf YAY Images / SmarterPix
übertragen, ohne dass ich aktiv zugestimmt habe. Ich hatte keinen Zugriff mehr auf mein Konto
und konnte die Bilder nicht selbst verwalten oder löschen. Erst nach viel Aufwand gelang es mir,
meine Bilder entfernen zu lassen.

Was besonders kritisch ist:
Mehrere meiner Bilder sind über Partnernetzwerke weiter verteilt worden. In meinem Fall wurde
sogar über Copytrack versucht, Geld für ein Foto zu verlangen, das ich selbst aufgenommen habe.

Bei meiner Recherche habe ich festgestellt, dass viele andere Fotografen sehr ähnliche Erfahrungen
gemacht haben.

Mein Fazit:
Als Fotograf würde ich YAY Images nicht empfehlen. Die Kontrolle über die eigenen Werke ist
meiner Meinung nach unzureichend, und das Risiko von Ärger mit Bildforderungen ist hoch.

This company is working in cahoots with Copytrack in attempt to scam legitimate image users out of money. They first act as if they KNOW they own the image - which is found to be completely bogus in most cases, and then they try to bully you using this German law firm into paying money for an image that you do not owe. It's a real scam and I cannot believe it's been allowed to continue as long as it apparently has. Advice: Stay clear of Yay Images.

Ignore messages from Copytrack and leave one star reviews as a way of legitimately putting them out of business for this fraud

I would suggest not to buy or use any images from yay images because even if you have licence or not their copytrack partner will keep threatening you.

I got a lifetime membership that allows me to download up to 10 images a day. It's been working just fine and dandy for me. Maybe not as much variety as other stock photo sites, and it would be nice if the image page showed similar images, but overall I've been pleased.

I see a lot of complaints here from people who have received copyright infringement notices. I've gotten the same thing using other stock image sites that I've had subscriptions to or bought from. The companies seeking out infringement are vultures, trying to scare anyone they can into paying hundreds of dollars (or more) for images. I don't think it's something YAY is doing specifically.

Scamming people with legitimate licences. Scum company with scummy practices.

Scam company, running a scam RACKET with another scamster copyright.....sending threatening emails in bulk to scam people.... SHAME

Yay Images offers supposedly free or freemium images, then months later, you receive a copyright infringement notice via Copytrack, demanding hundreds of euros. This happened even though the image was downloaded for free, with the source clearly cited in the article, and without ever receiving a notice of the license change from "free to paid" (which legally should be the case).

This method strongly resembles a trap, aimed at extracting money from honest users.

Avoid this platform. Do not download any images from Yay Images, even "royalty-free" images. Always check and keep official licenses (other sites).

Repeated reminders from Yay Images via Copytrack can become harassing. If this continues, we will consider legal action in return!

YAY Images used Copytrack to send an email to one of our customers trying to shake them down for money. YAY Images claimed the rights to an image that was actually purchased/licensed from Adobe Stock. Apparently, trying to scam people into paying money is the YAY business model. YAYYYYY
