My YardMax lawn mower lasted less than a year. The engine seized and could not be repaired. YardMax gave me the runaround and it was clear they had no intention of honoring their warranty.
Stay away from YardMax. Their products are junk and they don't stand behind them.
Worst Lawnmower Purchase Ever!
I purchased the Yardmax YG1550 from Lowes online in mid March of this year (2021) and it arrived about a week later.
I put it together over the next few weeks and started cutting grass with it around mid April.
Sadly, it's spent more time broken down under my carport than it has being used. It's broken down twice so far. The first time, the parts came in within a few weeks. Currently, I've been waiting on parts since early August (today is October 27th) with the reasoning that they don't stock parts in the United States and replacement parts have to come from China. Even worse, I recently went ahead and cleaned it up to store away for the winter (since it didn't look like they were going to send the repair parts) and found cracks running thru the deck and a piece of the deck metal has even broken away where you can actually see the blade spinning.
I've posted pictures of the damaged cutting deck in the online Small Engine Repair boards and I've been told my multiple repair people that it's unsafe to use and needs to be replaced. And that the damage is probably from over tightening one of the bolts that attaches the motor to the deck when it was attached at the factory, since the cracks are directly around the bolt area.
I've reached out to Yardmax and asked for a replacement. It's definitely a lemon since it's spent half of the time I've owned it broken down. And they've refused. Keep in mind that this mower has a 2 Year, home use, Warranty.
I would highly recommend against buying this brand. With the repair parts having to be ordered from China, you're going to have a long wait even for minor issues. And, with anything major, you're going to be out of luck.
Horrible customer service
Purchased a yardmax mower through homedepot in March 2021 , started using in April after 2 usages , went for first service and smoked a lot , went again for second service - totally stopped working . Paid for 2 services and yet to receive . Cannot return mower as homedepot return policy was 90 days . Called yardmax couple of times , submitted receipt to various department and explained to them , mower does not start and requested them to reimburse my purchase receipt and service receipt , so I can trash this junk and get a new one .Stay away from Yardmax mowers horrible customer service . I have paid half of the service cost of the mower price and they want us to shuttle between service centers for the next 2 years . Told them to send replacement mower so I can send this back or drop off at the local service center . Horrible will never recommend them to anyone . Never had issues with any other mower brands .
