Uneatable unpleasant “ battered cod” was uneven, bare in places, and the fish was at best reconstructed not fillet. Very unfortunate that a company we would normally look to for good product would put this trash out.

Is this company legally allowed to trade? No ombudsman no suspension on products no board member held to account? A metaphor for liebour. All products where rancid. £20 down now. Every little freezing doesn't help. Disgusting.

Oh my God, what a disgusting tasting fishcake, I couldn't eat it, tasted and smelt musty.

Purchased Tempura fish when on offer. Did I say 'fish??? There was nothing resembling fish just a grey slime inside a thick coating of batter. Absolutely disgusting!

I purchased Youngs 2 extra large beer batter fish fillets, which I in my opinion isn’t fit for human consumption, virtually no fish content and made me gag! Words can’t describe how bloody awful these were. Ended up

Had Young's admirals fish pie, it was absolutely disgusting. It was all mash potato and a small amount of sauce underneath which was in total around 3/4 of an inch deep.
The mash tasted like the old packet mash you used to get and as for any fish? There wasn't any, couldn't taste any cheese either. If this is all Young's can offer it's best you give up. A toddler could have done better.

I love my air fryer since I made this fish and lidl sell them for such a good price I won't say the price just in case everyone goes out and buys them

I've been eating Youngs products for years but no more. The past 5 or 6 boxes of their fish fingers I bought have all tasted very strongly of washing up liquid. I'm not having this issue with any other food so the problem isn't at my end. Never again. Complete waste of money as they all had to be thrown away.

Bought these Youngs Extra Crispy Cod? fish fingers,was appalled at the content of these, must have been a 4mm slice of fish in each one of these, the bulk of them were batter, not as advertised, wont be buying their products again !

I would have given this a zero. Just had youngs Gastro tempura fish , I cooked it longer than the 21minutes stated on the packet, it was inedible the batter was soggy and the fish was grey. Very off putting. I will not be wasting my money on anything from youngs gastro range again. Total waste of money

Why has youngs battered changed fom cod/haddock to just fish
Back of pack states pollock which is a much cheaper version of fish yet the people are still being charged sky high prices it's daylight robbery battered fish ???? It's like buying a chicken burger advertised as a bird burger ..you just would not want it ...youngs ! You can stuff your pollock and ya sky high prices

Hi have always eat Youngs Scampi but after eating last night awoke to very bad stomach cramps this morning.

They tasted fine and I always overcook past their minimum cooking time for safety until they are very crispy.

Didnt realise until I read other reviews it looks to be quality issues

I contacted youngs after buying cooking then bining their product, which was supposed to be Atlantic fish but more like found off south coast of southern water, and it tasted like what are dumping into our oceans..so I took pictures of box, bar code, sell by , day date and where from.. but silly me I didn't photograph the grotty awful tasting bad smelling gastro fish..oh well money well wasted.big thank you to their useless customer service..NOT.

Using their website form is an absolute joke -- it doesn't allow for "open questions", only those pertaining to existing products/orders.
Sent email to CEO and Customer Service -- Guess what -- NO REPLY.

Absolutely awful product. The fish batter burns up in the oven if you cook at the temperature they recommend for fan ovens and the oil spits out, making a mess for you to clean up afterwards. Will stick to the ASDA battered cod in future.

I have always loved the fish cakes eat them regularly last 2 times they are absolutely awful super small and once cooked are like bricks so unable to chew them without breaking my teeth even my cat turned his nose up and he eats anything. Really disappointed tbh I will never buy them again. Not sure what’s been changed but from what I’ve seen and tasted it’s not good not good at all 😔

Used to have these regularly but haven't had for a good while.
The missus spotted them the other day in a supermarket so we got a few boxes.
Wish we hadn't they were awful.
Shrink inflation strikes again.
I never eat the skin and by the time I'd removed it, there was very little fish left and what was left was nothing like they used to be, completely tastless.

This offering was truly terrible. Hardly any fish, barely any sauce, and reconstituted mash potato. Not food at all, just mush with a powdered potato top. No resemblance to the picture on the box. I had a memory that Youngs were the fish people. Not now.

Young's Chip Shop range is genuinely impressive. I've tried most of the frozen seafood brands out there, and this is by far the best. The fish is high quality—meaty, firm, and full of flavour—not the mushy, processed kind you often get, even from more expensive brands. I'm honestly puzzled by the negative reviews. Maybe some people just aren't used to the taste of real fish?
