I am writing this review after a really poor experience with this company.

I had a long-standing booking for one of York Boutique Lets’ properties (‘The Willows’), which I was really looking forward to. However, in February, I received a message from the company implying that the property was now being managed by other people and that they wanted to offer me alternative accommodation. I pointed out that I had picked this specific property due to its decor and location, and that I needed particular sleeping arrangements which this house offered, due to having one male guest and 5 females.

York Boutique Lets then backtracked and reassured me in writing - multiple times - that my booking would be upheld and secure. Obviously, this whole exchange still panicked me a bit as I now felt worried that I could end up traveling to York from Norfolk and find myself without a place to stay.

Last week, I received further contact from the company to say that my booking WAS in fact cancelled after all, as the new company was taking on a long-term tenant, leaving me and my friends stuck with pre-booked trains to York and activity bookings that were non-refundable. York Boutique Lets, having already proven themselves totally untrustworthy and unreliable, then proceeded to offer me sub-par alternative options (with not even an accompanying offer of compensation or a discount), which I found totally laughable.

As a customer, I am extremely disappointed with the way this was mismanaged by both companies. It has unnecessarily caused me huge inconvenience and stress on a weekend which was supposed to be for birthday celebrations and an opportunity to ask friends to be part of my bridal party - all sadly spoiled now.

I am still awaiting my refund of hundreds of pounds, which hasn’t yet come back through Airbnb, and wanted to just make others aware of how this was handled so they aren’t similarly misled and mistreated in the future.

Stayed at Blue Bridge Apartments it was super clean and comfortable and in a great location

5* all the way.
We stayed at the Creamery Cottage, for two nights. We absolutely loved it, it was so cleans and tidy and had everything you needed. The games room was extremely fun and it also got warm very fast which was perfect. The only slight criticism would be the WiFi was not the best however, compared to how perfect everything else it was the only smallest problem. We will be looking forward to returning again!

Had a great stay at your Fishergate flat - our second time there and would very much return.

Really well appointed flat with an excellent master ensuite bedroom and 2 further doubles. Perfect location for the Barbican centre (pretty much 2 minutes walk door to door) and just a few minutes walk to the centre of York.

Good comms, good flat, good stay, all happy.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Bootham House. The property is perfectly situated for the shops and attractions in York.
It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very easy to access and clear instructions were provided.
Only issue was the 4pm check in time which we thought was a bit late given we were only staying for one night and we had to be out by 10am.

Our recent 3 night stay at Minsters Keep was fabulous. The apartment is ideally situated exactly as described just 2 minutes walk from the Minster and the shambles. It was fully equipped with all equipment required if self catering is preferred. The whole apartment was spotless.
A free parking spot in the secure car park was ideal.

Our 3 night stay at 21 Dixon’s Yard,was very enjoyable. Lovely apartment clean, warm, comfy beds and in an excellent position to visit all York has on offer.
Once there we didn't move the car until we left and
it was great to have secure parking on site.

We stayed at cedar Lodge on a one night stay it was perfect from start to finish the lodge was the best lodges we have stayed in the deco everything about the place was stunning was so relaxed the hot tub was lovely with all the lights and flowers around carnt wait to go back highly recommended

We had a great stay in Willow Lodge over New Year. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great addition and the surroundings lovely and peaceful.

We stayed at the Malt Shovel apartment. Fantastic apartment, it was massive. Pictures were spot on for accuracy. Location was brilliant, 5 mins to The Shambles. Check in instructions were clear and really easy to follow. It was decorated for Christmas which was a really nice touch. Spotlessly clean. Even has an outdoor space with table and chairs

Stayed at Dixon’s Yard for 3 nights. Excellent apartment clean, comfy and in an excellent position to visit all the sites York has to offer
Great to have secure parking on site.
Close to some great restaurants and bars and a short walk away from the Shambles.
Visited York many times but found this apartment to be the best we have stayed in will definitely return

We stayed in Henry court apartment 1.
It was a little difficult to find but after phoning the office we were expertly guided to the front door. The apartment was small and cosy. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and lovely bathroom/shower. We were very happy with our stay

A lovely little apartment that was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishwasher tablets - I didn’t need to use the ones I took with me. The bathroom was also very clean with the best towels ever - fluffy, soft and massive! My only gripe was a white stain on the blanket on the bed. I would have put it in the washing machine but it too was massive and I didn’t think it would fit in.

The apartment was very modern, very well equipped, even washing machine, perfect location, would 100% recommend, and would definitely return

The apartment was ready in advance to our arrival. Very clean and tidy and ready to use. No issues experienced except learning how to use stuff as you always do in a new place. Booking was easy and all queries were answered well in advance. Great experience

We stayed in 3 of the Minster’s Reach apartments , which were ideal for a group of friends .
The apartments were beautiful and amazingly spacious in a perfect location , for exploring York

We will definitely be returning and recommending them .

We stayed at number 5 Blue Bridge Court in York. Fabulous little apartment with everything you need. Spotless and well equipped. Only 5 mins walk from the York Dungeon. Would defo recommend.

Relaxing retreat perfect place for a wind down break. Private space of pure heaven with a wonderful outdoor space and glorious hot tub 💞. Highly recommend for a place to relax and just be at peace..

We stayed in Aura Retreat for a few days and was perfect for the 2 of us. It came with parking and located near to 3 different supermarkets so perfect if you want to save money and cook meals. The flat was really clean, spacious and modern decorated. It had everything we needed including a washing machine and is a short walk from the centre of York. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Clean and spacious flat in Dixon’s Yard with secure parking. Ideally located for access to the city centre with lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs within walking distance.
The beds were very comfortable and excellent showers in both bathrooms.
Well-equipped kitchen and utilities room, although 3 of us couldn’t work out how to open the tumble dryer door and the instructions weren’t clear. Not an issue as we didn’t need to use it but frustrated that we couldn’t work it out!
For a flat in the centre of York it was surprisingly quiet.
Communication beforehand was good and access straightforward.
Two sets of keys would’ve been useful for the occasions when we wanted to do separate things as access required 2 fob entries, and maybe an extra towel would be nice but these are minor things and not a complaint.
All-in-all a lovely break in a superb flat in a decent location - we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
