I love my new door. It was easy and stress free being able to do everything on line to purchase the door. I wanted advice and phoned yale door and it was easy to get someone to talk to and they were great, very helpful. The fitter who came to measure door and came back to fit it was very nice, helpful and professional too. I found too the cost of door reasonable and

Problem solved
My recently installed and £980 door developed a leak - not through any fault of the fitter, but through the actual window frame of the door itself. There was some initial difficulty in getting the problem fixed due to some slip ups at the customer service centre. That said, my issue did get the ear of the Yale Door CEO who called me personally to resolve things, made it a priority for him and his technical team, and everything has been fixed. Good job - and they even texted to check everything went OK. Faith restored!

Love my door!
Yale were really great all round. No pushey sales person coming round and trying to sell me something I didn't want, all the ladies I spoke to on the phone were really nice and helpful when I had questions and when placing my order. Being able to create my door online and see exactly how much it would cost made me confident in knowing what I'd ordered would be exactly what I wanted. Also great value compared to other companies. The fitter was also really good, fitted the door quickly and well. Have already recommended Yale to others and will continue to do so. Thanks!

Great Doors but disappointing delivery
These doors would be 5 star except for the delivery. They are easy to instal and are good quality. However, Yale do not deliver further north than Edinburgh so I had to get them delivered to my sister in law who lives there and then have them couriered to Aberdeen at additional cost. Very disappointing given that Aberdeen is a major city in the UK!

Worst Customer Experience I have ever had
I selected Yale for my new composite front door based on its perceived quality and customer service reputation, the are not the cheapest by any means but quality is paramount to me. After speaking with a very nice sales person and going through the door options. As the door required a side panel which would return at 90deg for 200mm on one side I sent a photograph showing how this had been achieved on other houses within my estate to check that this was possible. The very nice sales person shared this photograph and information with Yale Doors technical people and it was confirmed that this was a simple matter and something that they were familiar with and an initial order was placed for one of their engineers to attend site. This unfortunately is where it all began to go wrong. After 2 days of not hearing from the engineer I chased Yale only for the engineer to still not make contact, I chased again and this time the engineer returned my call, initially he proposed a date for survey some further 10 days in advance however a mid week date was eventually agreed albeit that he could not confirm a time. To his credit the engineer turned up early however on seeing the opening he informed me that he was relatively new and had not dealt with a door of this type and that he would have to take details and photos and contact his manager, stating he would get back to me shortly. After not receiving a return call I chased Yales engineer at the end of the day and was informed that he had sent details to his manager and that I would recieve a call first thing the following day. The following day despite leaving messages I did not recieve a call in the morning and I was forced to contact Yale directly again. This time I spoke with their customer services and following the recounting of the laudable standard of service I had received that I would recieve a return call immediately. 4 hours later I once again contacted Yale customer service only to be told by one of their representatives that they had reviewed the photo and that they now couldn't provide a door to suit !! 8 working days wasted including a day taken to be at home for Yale to not even have the common decency to inform me in person without me once again chasing. It is clear that their customer experience does not match up to their claims the result of which is a week and a half delay on my current house renovations. My advice is to steer clear and go somewhere else.

I appreciated the chance to talk with you last Friday evening over the telephone, as this gave me the opportunity to understand your concerns first hand and the specifics of your situation.
I am sure you will understand that it is very important for me to be able to fully explain what happened from the Company’s perspective. This should help to properly set expectations for our current and potential future customers.
I think we would both agree that your approach was quite a unique situation.
In your original communication to Sue, one of our Design Consultants, you correctly informed us that the installation would involve a door installed in a porch arrangement, with a side light or glazed unit running at 90 degrees from the door, running back onto the property. At Yale Door we have provided product in line with this requirement on previous occasions and so we were quite happy at that stage to move forward with your enquiry.
However, you then sent to our office a photograph of an adjacent property which had the door arrangement that you had described to Sue.
At that time, we should have recognized a potential problem, in that the photograph you supplied was not the existing door at the location of the future install, but was in the adjacent property. Furthermore, the door was an uPVC product that has totally different characteristics to the Yale Door in terms of its weight (lighter) and fixing arrangements.
Our procedures ensure that we always visit site and carry out a survey of the specific doorway where our Yale Door is going to be fitted. This survey, ensures we have the right dimensions for the product and, just as importantly, we can ensure that the surrounding brickwork/masonry has the proper load bearing and structural integrity to enable a successful installation.
On attending the survey, our surveyor could clearly see that the brickwork and building was not finished. He understood that a roof may be added to the porch but this was still being figured out. The aperture where the door was to be installed, clearly, could not be measured as it was incomplete and the load/fixings to the top of the frame could not be assessed.
Our surveyor, at this stage, should have been more frank and forthright with you – that was a mistake on our part. While appreciating your disappointment in not being able to proceed and place an order for a Yale Door, we stand by our decision not to go ahead with the installation for the reasons outlined above.
Importantly, we have changed our procedures now so that in future, when, in the rare instance we face this situation and we are unable to measure for the door size, we will push the survey date out until the brickwork has been completed and a full survey can be undertaken.
To the general point of communication, we are constantly working on this particular topic. As a Company that makes heavy use of web-based solutions, we are constantly trying to find the right balance between electronic messaging and the personal touch. We invest heavily in customer service training to ensure that our staff listen to our customer’s issues and respond professionally and diligently in resolving any concerns.
Additionally, we continue to develop our product offering to ensure that we are constantly updating our offer to meet the needs of our customers. Since we spoke over the phone, we have launched our new website, adding new colours and products to our range so that we provide higher levels of customer satisfaction.
If you do return to Yale Door in the future and wish to take advantage of our exceptional, value for money, product offer and service, then we would be very happy. We would only be too pleased to show you what we can do.

A proper, solid, high tech, front door
Our new composite front door looks great, exactly as we specified on the Yale website. The door is supposed to be very long-lasting and, six months in, it still looks like new. The remote control/keypad operated lock takes a little getting used to but now seems second nature - no need to grab the keys as you pop out on the school run...
