Volvo of Naples UNETHICAL, DECEPTIVE, SLEEZY
Volvo of Naples is the definition of sleezy and unethical. I still cannot believe the antics I witnessed. When I first walked in, the place was quiet No Customers, and now I know why! I came because I was interested in the Volvo XC40 and I needed to purchase a new car. They were literally switching and manipulating MSRP sticker prices, taking the higher 2026 numbers and slapping them onto older 2025 models — many of which had miles on them — just to inflate the starting point. Beyond dishonest, it’s deceptive to the core. And forget about putting the right price on the right model!!!
It didn’t stop there. They even tried to make a profit off my registration fees — something any honest dealer knows is just a pass-through cost. When I pushed back, they actually told me there was tax on the registration fees (flat-out false; the registration fee itself is the tax). Then, unbelievably, they tried to tell me Volvo rebates are taxable. A rebate! The lies just kept coming, one after the other, insultingly brazen.
When it came to settling the simplest of matters — crediting me back the agreed difference between the estimated registration fees and the actual amount ($200.00 less $85.25 just $117.50) — the owner refused. This had been an explicit part of the deal that I raised with them from the beginning. I asked for either credit or a check for $117.50, for which I was rightfully owed and the owner, Joseph Parisi, cratered the entire deal -I walked out - rather than do the honest thing!
And on an old 2025 Volvo B5 Ultra with 5,642 miles – that he used as a service loaner, he didn’t want to price the car accordingly. He’d rather RIP YOU OFF! He used the car! He now USED UP ONE YEAR OF THE 4 YEAR WARRANTY – so if you read carefully on the 2nd or 3rd page of the CAR FAX REPORT you now only have 39 months remaining or 44,000 miles whichever comes first. Our fear was in month 39 or 40 (we would never get to that mileage so the time was going to expire first) if the AC goes or something major - then we would have to pay for it out of pocket.AND CLEARLY, THIS GUY IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOU!!! THERE WERE MANY THINGS THIS DEALERSHIP COULD HAVE DONE IN THIS SALE OR TRANSACTION THAT JUST WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD BUSINESS, GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE – BUT WAS NOT DONE. SUCH AS, OFFERING AN EXTENDED 12 MONTH, UNLIMITED MILE ADD WARRANTY ONTO THE SERVICE WARRANTY which would have cost them nothing!!! (Mercedes Benz does this automatically, making it Certified Preowned) Retail it’s $1,000 to $2,000 and they get a dealers margin of 45%-65% so it effectively would have cost them $400-$600 to do the right thing when selling this car – after they used it – BUT NOT A CHANCE!!!
Parisi himself was quibbling over the $117.50, registration difference, let alone $400-$600. Parisi is exactly what you’d expect from the worst caricature of an old-school car salesman: hot-headed, unprofessional, impossible to believe anything that comes out of his mouth and/or reason with. From the jump he took things very personally instead of speaking rationally, snapping over the smallest points. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I guess — but this was sooo horrendous I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone waste their time at this dealership.
If you value honesty, transparency, and professionalism, stay far, far away from this place!!!!
