Ok, its not the best player on the world its among the 10 best and MOST importantly, its free!

I've been using VLC for all of my video playing.
Trying some subtitles to align is a real hell, many times impossible.
One day the setting is -1,5s, the other day you gave to find it all over again... if you do, because after some experimentation with the track alignment settings it stops displayh subtitles whatsoever.
I have lost many hours with this;
VLC is absolutely crap when it comes to subtitles. There is no logic in its behaveour whatsoever.
The same srt file requires +25 seconds one time, the other time -5 seconds. There absolutely now way to get VLC playing movies with offset subitles. Sometimes you are lucky; and then please don't touch any control! It is an absolute miracle if it works. Regarding srt management it is absolutely utter crap. I wonder of somebody even studied this track information alignment in depth. I am sick of adjusting subtitles for hours... WTx ?? I have the same srt file, and the same mp4 file, why is the alignment different every time I put on the movie? And why o why do the subtiltles dissapear totally? I mean yes, tried to get the right setting and suddenly I don't get any subititle at all. !! Please, if you don't figure this out completely, just remove the 'feature' of track settings!!
UPDAT : I have been trying to align the SAME srt with the SAME mp4 file for OVER 2 HOURS NOW !!! CRAP!!! It crashes everytime and then have to 'force quit' everytime. There is absolutely no coherence, one time you delay it by 4,5s, the other time you delay it by 22,5s !!!! CRAP!! AVOID!!
UPDATE :: I have been trying to align the same str file with the same MP4 for the last TWO hours... Never ever experienced such a problems with a video player, crashing all the time. If you can't address subtitle alignment DON'T ADD IT TO THE FEATURES !!

Downloaded onto new laptop with windows 10. It plays sound but no picture. Cyberlink power media player downloaded off the microsoft store works perfectly. It's almost impossible to tell videolan about this as you have to go through a ridiculous level of hoops so gave up.

Good enough for watching movies, easy to use, quick.

I tried VLC through Downloadster, and it is now my favourite media player.
The download was 1-click quick and simple, and the site had a lot of easily accessible information about the media player without presenting an overwhelming wall of text. It included hints about little known features, as well as a heads up about possible third party search bars that may be offered.
I have yet to find the file type that VLC won't play, and the navigation is quite intuitive. I haven't played a lot with the additional features, but based off the product information on downloadster, I found out that I can add text to a film as I watch, and easily perform minor editing on videos I've made.
A lot of open source media players seem to have high functionality, but low user-friendliness; VLC is the first one I've found that is intuitive and incredibly versatile. It is also one of the few media players I've found that instantly finds and plays subtitle files, even when the subtitles are separate from the media file itself. I have also begun using it as a music player; although the interface is less targeted toward music, it plays CDs and MP3s easily; I haven't even had to convert audio files, just load and click "Play"

VLC Media Player's site is very, very simple to navigate through.The home page tells you everything you need to know in a simple format. It didn't take the page long to load, and I had no problems. I really like the layout. It's easy on the eyes in my opinion. You don't have an overwhelming amount of colors and information. On the homepage,the first thing I noticed was the overview and features which is really good in my opinion. When downloading a new software those are usually the first two things look for; what the software does and what features it has.

The download was easy and fast. I wanted a media player to play different video formats (specifically flash and mpeg-4) and that is what I got. Simple as that. There were no problems. The videos worked and played fine. One thing I like specifically about VLC Media Player is how it lets you play Blue Ray DVD's.

VLC Media Player is great and the site is perfect. Everything was simple and fast from my perspective.

Is a simple, impeccable and well written site which is eye appealing and saves you lots of time while navigating it; because of attractive graphics and flowing format.it actually entails of the VLC media player, which has been put across through the exposition of sub topics contained there i.e. the overview which gives a general look into the media player, features and supported formats which many other media players in the market cant support.one thing have liked with the site is the download process by which when you click the download icon its like touch and go, doesn’t take you to other links but downloads it instantly; making it a reliable and clean site.
Being such a good media player, I would urge the website builders to take the use of SEO and rich keywords so as to reach majority of the internet user and make it very popular. Also provide social media getaways e.g. twitter, Facebook, etc. Whereby visitors to this site can recommend it to their friends and kin easily.

This VLC media player is truly heaven sent. It is so heartbreaking to watch a movie almost immediately after you've downloaded it only to be stalled when your media player cannot read the file. That happened to me a lot of times with my previous media player and I had to download the codec needed to read the video files that I wish to view. It really takes time, and if movies were food, then I would've lost my appetite.

I am most ardently happy when VLC made itself known. It is absolutely remarkable with its dozens of features that I know one wouldn't find in expensive brands. I can change pace, tempo and beats. It also has a very efficient and easy-to-understand interface. When I first downloaded it, it felt as if I have been using this software since my hands touched a keyboard. It is simply yet truly helpful and fancy in its own right.

Now, who can beat that? And that's just its main features. It also has other features best suited for the advanced users. Plus, and perhaps the most important attribute of this already extravagant software is that, it's free! Absolutely free. Just lovely.
