Truly the worst service one could experience from an estate agent. John and Mariem were extremely unreasonable, obstinate and down right rude. Refused to request items from the landlord like removing furniture and allowing keys to be returned early at end of tenancy. Our boiler broke on one of the coldest days in winter and we had to quote the unfit for habitation act before they responded to my requests to send someone to fix.

I instructed Truepennys Brockley office to sell my house because I was impressed with Sophia’s personality and communication skills. This is where my praise ends.

In my experience, and this mainly relates to Sophia’s colleagues:
• No feedback given on approximately one third of the viewings.
• Two separate planned marketing initiatives not undertaken as agreed.
• Online marketing ceased without agreement (brought to my attention by one of their competitors).
• Property details re-published online with information that I’d already asked to be removed.
• Online listing published with corrupted or pixelated images.
• ‘Weekly’ update calls took place just once.
• I was directly asked to ‘move in with friends’ on two separate occasions to allow the sale to complete. Asked indirectly two further times.
• When pressed couldn’t describe the steps they were taking to manage the expectations of the buyer; one thing this agent is good at it passing on the anxieties of the buyer and the challenges of their then accommodation.

So helpful!
Istvan at the Greenwich office was so helpful to us when some important post went to my son’s old address after his tenancy had ended. The issue was resolved within an hour or two. Istvan was so helpful and polite. He gets 10/10 from us. Thank you Istvan.

It was a pleasure to have Jamie and Wallace assist us with the purchase of our home. They were extremely kind, present without being pushy, and very patient as we dealt with some hiccups that came up along the way. Shawn, who gave us a second viewing of the property, was also very helpful. Absolutely recommended!

Called their Beckenham branch on the 12th Nov to enquire about a rental property that had just come on the market and was told by a lady there that a message would be passed on to lettings. Nobody ever got back to me. Chased it up on the 13th and was told by a lady there (same lady?) “we only have one lettings negotiator covering Beckenham and Bromley. Rest assured you will get a chance to view the property”. Again, nobody ever got back to me. Today (19th) I see that the property has now been let! So thanks to their incompetency I’ve now missed out on a potential tenancy. Utter shambles and I’m going to blacklist this agent if this is the level of service afforded to prospective tenants.

Encountered one of the rudest salesmen ever working for this company (Dulwich office). He was extremely unhelpful, arrogant and condescending and that was on initial contact over the phone!!!!! This obnoxious man needs further customer service training as sadly lacking in that area. I would NEVER engage this company!!

Tyler from East Dulwich Truepenny's lettings was amazingly efficient, helpful, kind and patient helping me fill in a licence application today.

I had an appalling experience with Truepenny’s Property Consultants. Their severe mismanagement has caused me significant financial and emotional distress.
I gave proper notice under my tenancy’s break clause, found a replacement tenant who passed references, paid fees, and even signed the contract. But Truepenny’s lost the signed paperwork, apologised for it, and then later denied ever receiving it. Because of their incompetence, the replacement tenant withdrew, leaving me unfairly exposed to rent liability for a property I had lawfully vacated.
Despite repeated communication, evidence, and even their own admissions of error, they have refused to take responsibility. Instead, they shifted all the burden onto me, forcing me into legal proceedings.
This agency cannot be trusted with important tenancy matters. If you value professionalism, accountability, and proper handling of your documents, avoid Truepenny’s at all costs. Their negligence has not only cost me thousands of pounds but also months of unnecessary stress.

Alex from Truepennys Dulwich is every cliche of an estate agent, condescending, dismissive, rude, with a superiority about himself, words cannot describe how awful this man is & this is from a phone conversation. If this is how he is on the phone, from an initial phone call, be grateful he didn’t do business with you.

Was keen to engage them to help to sell my property in SE London. They spent 15 minutes on the phone telling me how superior their service levels are, then failed to send me the one line email they'd promised to send immediately after the call. I waited a day or two, nothing ... sent them an email, ignored ... called and left messages ... nothing. Their customer service is in fact far inferior to the competition, not superior.

The landlord initially agreed to let us rent the property for £2,300/month, but at the last moment, after we had already prepared to sign, he refused to proceed unless we agreed to pay £2,500/month — leaving us no choice as we were students about to be without a home. We paid a £2,884 deposit to the agency and hired professional cleaners (£200) when moving out. The landlord then brought someone along and claimed it wasn’t clean enough, charging us another £160 — even though the issues he pointed out had already existed when we moved in. He assured us at that time that no more deductions would be made and the deposit would be fully returned. Afterward, he blocked me and ignored all contact. Months later, when I pursued the matter legally, he suddenly claimed additional damages for a mirror that was already broken before we moved in — and the agency failed to provide proper check-in photos to protect us.

Valencia is one of the worst consultants I have run into. She is currently the property manager in our flat; she is unresponsive to our emails about repairs, blames us for bringing these issues to light, and will take no accountability for her own actions (or inactions). Our dishwasher and washing machine were not working which we noticed immediately upon entering the flat. We logged these issues on the platform Truepenny’s requested. These issues were then ignored along with our repeated emails. We had no choice but to contact their contractor directly. We were then reprimanded for doing so. Valencia was on holiday so didn’t respond for weeks and then was unapologetic about the fact that nobody helped us in the mean time and proceeded to be super rude and condescending on the phone (shocker!!!). Would not recommend.

Anastasiia has been very helpful and made my flat hunting experience easier for me. I can always rely on her for help. I’d glad to have a great experience in securing a place to live

If I could give zero stars, I would. This has been the worst agency I've ever dealt with. If you're considering using them—don’t. I won’t even waste my time listing the countless unprofessional experiences I’ve had, but I hope this review helps steer others away. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

Anastasiia was very professional and kind. She made sure to show me all the details and the amenities the house included, and by the end of the meeting I was clear on what is expected from the landlord, and the rights and duties of the tenant itself.
Definitely, I would recommend this Agency to people I know.
