I cannot recommend Peter Hudson enough, he has delivered exceptional customer service, was very informative and responded to my emails/phone calls on the same day. He is a real credit to TMP and I would highly recommend him.

Both Alex and Lorna were absolutely fantastic! Alex was ridiculously patient with me, as I tried to purchase property after property, running the numbers for me at the drop of a hat over a period of months and being nothing but helpful and supportive. Once I found a property and Lorna took over, she was equally as supportive, friendly and helpful. Always kept in touch to reassure me of what was going on and how the mortgage application was progressing, even if there was no update, she let me know that there was no update yet, so I would not worry and feel reassured. I honestly cannot fault either of them. Amazing customer service and both just really helpful and genuinely nice people!

The Mortgage People were fantastic throughout getting us our mortgage deal, we are in the final process now and Holly, Lorna and everyone we have interacted with have been unfailingly polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend using this company.

The Mortgage people have just been amazing during the process! They have been at the end of a call every single step of the way. Even ringing after completing each step so we knew where we were.
Even after they have completed everything there end they are still there on the phone to explain what comes next.
We are waiting on solicitors now, but I still check with Lorna when there is something we don’t understand and Lorna always helps us.
Being first time buyers we had no idea, but Alex and Lorna have helped us understand everything. I cannot reccomend them enough.
I cannot believe the negative reviews, I cannot say one thing negative about this company, I wokld recommend to all my friends and family, and will definitely be back when we need them again!

House buying is a scaring stressful process.These people are running a concentration camp style affordability test.They even ask for how many hairs you have on your back side.I dealt with an individual call Lee W. and at the end I gave up as I couldn't put up anymore with his imbeciles questioning, asking for proof of fund origin for a relatively small amount. Doing nobody a favour not the buyer even less the seller.

Awful experience that has put me completely off shared ownership. I had to complete an affordability assessment for a shared ownership property. I was on a deadline as these things have to be processed quickly as I am up against other applicants. To add context my annual earnings is 87k and I had 20k deposit for a 25% share of the 3-bed property. I initially went through the first stage checks no problem. Then I was passed to an advisor named Jags. Our initial appointment was for 1pm and I stressed to the advisor who booked that I work with high profile clients so only had an hour to conduct the affordability assessment; I was told no problem it wouldn't take that long as they only needed to go through my documents. Jags was 15 mins late to call me; then proceeded to ask me a set of bizarre questions:
1. why do I have so many bank accounts (I had 4); I explained that is how I managed my money; to which he replied he wouldn’t be able to manage his money if he had so many bank accounts? None of my accounts were overdrawn or add any adverse notifications on my credit report so I didn’t understand the relevance of his comment?
2. He asked me what do I do? I proceed to explain I am an organisational psychologist and I work with senior leaders to develop them. Jags then asks what qualifications I need for that role? I ask him what relevance this has to my mortgage. He then replies that he has never heard of my company; I invite him to google it as I work for a global tech company who has a 11K+ global workforce. He then questions me in detail about how and why my company is fully remote?

I asked him if there was an issue with my payslips, P60 and job letter with proof of my earnings, (I provided evidence of my earnings, annual salary, bank statements and 2 credit reports my from check my file and Equifax, and passport ID); as to why he couldn’t understand how I can work fully remote? I explained further that most tech companies went fully remote during covid so it is not unusual! I also uploaded recent credit card statements as my credit file was not updated with recent balances. Jags did not read any of this information but proceeded to ask me about my credit card debt – I invited him to check the January statement I uploaded showing it had a £0 balance; and reason it was high every other month is because of work expenses.

The time was now 1.45pm, 30 minutes into the call and he hadn't asked me any questions pertaining to my mortgage affordability assessment. I asked him how much longer this would take as I had clients from 2pm. He said not much longer. Jags then asks how much I earn after tax; I explained that some payslips where higher due to expenses reimbursement as I travel a lot for work, and this was also linked to my credit card balance which I clear each month once I am reimbursed.
I remarked that because the tax in this country is so disgusting my monthly basic salary is around 4100 after tax; he then asked me 'why am I in this country if it so disgusting'? I paused because I wanted him to clarify; he then proceeds to say why do I live in this country if the tax is so disgusting - so I said pardon? I pay nearly 3k in tax per month, which is high I don't understand your question?

He didn’t reply but then googles my company and comments about the registered UK address is the same as a few other companies - so I ask if the company information details were part of the affordability assessment and if the companies house information was inadequate? He then says to me 'you sound very angry'; I replied and explained that what hearing is impatience as he has been on the phone to me for 45 mins and no questions about my actually ability to afford a shared ownership mortgage of £135k were discussed!. I don't like to make assumptions, but I am 100% positive that if I were a white woman, he wouldn't have asked me why I am in the country, racially stereotyped me as sounding angry or carried google investigations on the publicly floated global tech company I work for! I sent email feedback the next day explaining that my experience was awful, and I felt that his questions were bizarre and had nothing to do with my earnings, deposit or ability to pay for a 25% share in the 3 bed house in London.

I have previously spoken to other independent mortgage advisors and was assessed for mortgages of a much higher value and passed affordability no problem; my issue was coming up with a large deposit, hence why I explored shared ownership. Jags subsequently replied he is more thorough than other mortgage advisors (from Natwest, Halifax and Nationwide I might add); then tells optivio homes I cannot afford the mortgage so I lost the house. I would never recommend TMP to anyone especially anyone Black!

Not a good experience at all with TMP! My partner and I had to use TMP when applying for a shared ownership property with a local housing association. Of course this was an urgent application as on a first come first served basis and we knew that we were up against one other applicant.
Although we were impressed initially at the speed of our affordability check and thought we were in a good position, this all quickly changed when we were assigned a new Account Manager.
There was very little communication other than automated emails and when trying to get hold of this person they ignored our calls and emails. It wasn’t until the 5th day of our application that I was made aware I needed to upload some extra documents and when trying to phone about this I again couldn’t speak with our supposed manager and was seriously concerned our application was doomed!
Still no communication other than from our mortgage advisor who managed to get our application completed and agreement in principle ready to send to the HA. We had hoped this was sent immediately but then discover it was left until the following week and wasn’t sent until late (6pm) on the Monday!! This meant we were too late and missed out on the property.
There has been no acknowledgment of any of the issues or concerns raised so we have put in a formal complaint despite being too late to make any difference to our situation.
If our application had been dealt with quicker we could have had a chance! No such opportunity was given with the poor excuse of a ‘manager’ we were given.
Needless to say, we won’t be using TMP again.

Like others 1 star doesn’t really cut it..
We had to use TMP for our shared ownership and the initial assessment form was hassle free and easy, we then contacted tmp when we had a price for a new build again got documents in and pretty painless,we got in a day before it actually went live! So a day later we managed to get a video call to talk through our finances and the guy was great very proactive and felt secure with his knowledge and help, on Wednesday we had to upload a couple of documents I was missing but nothing needed for my partner, so were confident.. Unfortunately we also were switched from our first account manager?? We were given Olivia judge.. oh dear is all I can say.. No communication and clearly a step behind the whole way through! Rather than assessing our file and saying what we needed she spent days with no contact to find that by Friday my partner had documents missing? Yet we had uploaded everything on Monday! She called and got through to someone else who could see everything there? Also told that her phone wasn’t working so couldn’t call her but were told previously couldn’t talk as she was on a call?? Anyway Friday!.. we get what she needed, by this point we know it’s been to long as they’ve acted slowly! We know they’ve got all they need and could have sent the file across on Friday afternoon.. but no they send it late on Monday afternoon so we had no chance! We feel like we were given a dud, and from being a day early getting ahead to being hours late because she wasn’t fast enough.. unfortunately leaving us high and dry.. I would definitely avoid as it’s nothing but unanswered calls and emails and very slow communication and late getting documents sent to the housing association..

Having a very complicated situation where nothing was going to plan and I was becoming more and more distressed, I had to pleasure of having Lee and John from TMP come to my rescue.

Both were extremely helpful and professional throughout my process. Lee was incredible at the end in trying to help me secure my property when I was in the running with several others. I spoke to Lee numerous times and he was always so friendly and professional. John tried everything he could to help me, sadly my situation meant I couldn’t get a mortgage with him but that didn’t stop him trying his best.

Thanks to both of you, my house is now reserved and it’s thanks to your very helpful and kind service, so thank you :)

Lorna and Alannah were absolutely amazing. They gave amazing advice and successfully arranged the mortgage for a shared ownership new build for us. They took all of the stress out of arranging the mortgage, all documents were submitted incredibly quickly. Anything which needed clarification or resubmitting was requested to us straight away and resubmitted by TMP straight away. I’m amazed how quickly they’ve managed to get it all arranged for us, they’ve liaised with all parties on our behalf, something which I simply wouldn’t have the time to do. 100% recommend using TMP for shared ownership mortgages.

Sadly whilst the initial impressions were good the entire process collapsed and I'm left picking up the pieces. I have ongoing complaints and TMP just abandoned me after this. I suppose if there isn't anything in it for them, why would they bother?

TMP Mortgages have been fantastic from start to finish. Our mortgage advisor David was really helpful and knowledgeable. He answered any questions we had throughout the process. Once our application was submitted, Tara over saw everything. She was warm and friendly while remaining professional. She answered all of our questions within 24hours and constantly updated me regarding our application's progress. This was so reassuring and very much needed, as this was our first mortgage.
Tara then gave us a congratulatory phone call and informed us again of what happens next. I just want to say a huge thank you to the TMP team for all their hard work and patience.

Especially for a first time buyer where every step is like rocket science, TMP people just makes it so smooth and easy. From the beginning up to the end of the processes, they have been so responsive and helpful by explaining everything. Thanks million times to Lorna for being so responsive, positive and kind and thanks million times to Alex for being so professional and deal-maker. Don't confuse lots of mortgage advisors but I'd suggest from a highest level to stop your search at TMP and go with them

Going through a purchase of a shared ownership property. Constantly bombarded with increasingly urgent emails stating that 'I'm going to lose out on my dream home' and that they will release my allocation from the housing association. I am using my own mortgage broker but for some reason need TMP to assess my affordability for it, even after I've been accepted for a mortgage with my bank, hence proving affordability. This may be more an issue with shared ownership requirements, but in general TMP comes across as a cowboy company using tactics to stress you to the limit that you use them instead of an alternative broker. I'm glad I haven't used them as they do not seem genuine at all. Far better to use an independent advisor who may cost less or just as much, but is far more professional.

Could never get to speak to a person. Advised to speak to a mortgage advisor regarding help to buy. Waste of time. Filled out assessment twice. Left voicemail messages. Nobody phones you back. Looks like I will have to rent instead.
