Gym is great

Gym is great. Less than impressed to find that I have a PCN after my first visit despite having submitted parking details when I arrived!

If you join the gym group Northampton

If you join the gym group Northampton, please ensure the parking fee is 100 pounds from your reserve amount. We are gym users and regular goers. Suppose you forgot to enter a car reg on the console. You lose 100 pounds + peace of mind +financial loss + time loss everything. Instead, I prefer you could go to pure gym near Argos. There are 2 hours free parking without any regs, so peace of mind, I just paid 100 pounds. You know, I contioulsely there customers for two years. They did not consider when they're imposing a parking fine. I am sure I was a genuine gym user, so I am scared. Suppose any day I may forget to enter the car reg again. I need to pay a parking fine, so I'm left.

Don’t go there suppose if you forgot…

Don’t go there suppose if you forgot entering your car registration number on their console you will get several penalties ,Iam there for around two year but once I forgot to enter my car reg number they send me notice I should pay the penalty.

Bad customer service

Joined my local gym group this week. Went to this gym for the first time. Could not gain entry using my entry code. Contacted customer service which is all automated and could not get an answer. I have been told by another gym group user that I should ring them and choose the payment option otherwise you get a bot. Will try this tomorrow. This shows it's all about the £. If you don't want to talk about money don't call us should be thier tag line.

Bad management of equipment

When they have a class on they take all the rowing machines and you have to wait 45 mins if you want to use one, i pay my membership and shouldn’t have to have my work out disrupted because of a class just bad management

Gym is always clean & tidy ,plenty off different weights
And must important off all

What an abysmal experience

What an abysmal experience. Firstly there is no staff . Secondly to even be able to enter the gym you need to use their computer which would be fine however this computer is slower than the first pc I had in 1995 . Just to pay for a 1 day pass should be quick and easy . The computer makes you select your location first ( how does the gym computer not know where it is ) this task alone was almost impossible as it was laggy and unresponsive to the point of barely being functional. Next problem I had was that I bought cash with me and they don’t accept cash . Now this means they will try to rob me of £100 with a parking ticket. I had the money but there was no staff to talk to and they won’t accept cash . I just want to go to the gym for 30 minutes I should not need to go through a 15 minute ordeal just to have a 1 day pass . Avoid this unethical company like the plague. Please don’t rub salt into the wound by replying that it’s out of your hands with the parking situation, that is simply not good enough you as a company choose where to locate your gym and which parking company to use . How about having a functioning computer system that allows people to sign up quickly and easily that would be a great help

Regaining confidence

I have joined this gym many months back and recently I was losing confidence in myself and my ability to go through daily workouts. I spoke to Jamie Cook about this who is there most of the time during the week. He listened to me and assured me that I am doing fine and asked me to approach him anytime. This assurance made me more confident and I am always looking forward to come to the gym. Then there is this young lady Sarah who always wishes me good morning whenever she sees me and asks how I am doing. All these things means a lot to me as I don’t know many people around here. 🤗.

Parking tickets are a joke

Joined the gym and have been going going regularly. Today I get a £60 parking ticket from them. My work processed it and added an admin fee.
No where in the joining instructions or texts does it advise there is a car park camera issuing tickets. There are no parking machines or signs either.
What makes this place odd is that the rest of the parking is free around the local area.
Complete unfair.

We are sorry to hear that you have been issued a fine but I'm afraid there is nothing we can do in retracting this as we do not manage the parking at any of our gyms and therefore have no jurisdiction over the decision. The car parking company typically manages it either on their own behalf or on behalf of the leaseholder of the premises/land. The parking regulations would be highlighted on your member's area, such as the maximum time and in the branch if they require you to input your car registration on each visit. If you have been issued a parking fine and are not in breach of the parking regulations, you will need to contact the parking company directly to appeal this fine. The parking instructions for your branch are highlighted on the branch page, and also located in the manage parking section of the member's area when you log in. You will be able to access your gym usage information via the member's area to supply evidence for the appeal. Simply head to the My Gym tab and select My Gym usage. There you will see a graph for the current month which you can change, and at the bottom of the page, you will find a table with a complete view of the specific date and times of your visits.

Ive been a member for nearly two years

Ive been a member for nearly two years, the manager Jamie is so liked by everyone and his classes are exceptional.

The gym is always clean and tidy as is the outside area

If i had a slight niggle it would be for the Gym Group to invest in additional leg machines - not all men want chicken legs

Burn 400 - certainly did!!

Did my first burn 400 class tonight, with Jun Simon at Northampton - and I burnt 412 calories! I enjoyed the intensity, and each of the exercises. Jun gave great direction and advice throughout, checking everyone was all good, and advising what exercises to do if anyone needed to scale back for whatever reason. With my motivation lacking this month this was a great class to get it done, get moving and get hot and sweaty, all within 30mins too!! Spot on session!! Thank you Jun!

I asked one of the trainers for some help on my form today and they were super friendly, helpful and chatted to me for a while after. All the staff are great.

Horrible service

Horrible service. I have paid for gym membership since the 7th of July 2023. I cannot access the gym. Pin does not work, membership on the app says inactive, cannot book classes have been embarrassed had to turn back on several occasions, phone number says it’s only for billings. My gym is in Sixfields Northampton,I’m tired of trying to contact them. I have emailed the customer service email hello@thegymgroup complaints@thegymgroup , filled out the contact us form on the 24 hour questions on the website, NOTHING. It’s like I’m begging to use membership that I’ve already paid the month for with future direct debits have been set. Cannot reach anyone. I’m so tired please HELP. I need to be refunded for this month at least because it’s been a waste. I just want to use the gym please.

No complaints about the gym but be…

No complaints about the gym but be careful with the car park. I’ve been charged £60 3 times now. If you pull in the car park, change your mind or decide to nip to the shop then go back to the gym an hour later, you get charged £60. In my opinion it’s disgraceful that I get fined for deciding to go to the gym when I decide to go to the gym. If you pull in the car park, you’ll need to go inside and enter your reg, then not return for another 2 hours.

If this was not followed, a parking fine will be issued from the parking operator who owns and manages the car park. If you have received a fine, please appeal this using your gym usage records as evidence of gym usage. The parking operator can further assist you.

Received a PCN for parking here while using the gym

Received 2 parking charge notices for using the car park on the 29th and 30th of March, on both occasions I was using the gym. Contacted The Gym Group and was told there's nothing they can do and that I have to check the website for parking rules as each gym may have different rules and then I have to appeal the PCN with whoever issued them. Checked the website for this gym and it clearly stated "No ticket or validation required" Luckily I took screenshots as they have updated the website since and now it says that validation is required!!! The important question for me is. Why would they update/change the parking rules on their website now without letting their customers know? I'm sure they are aware that many customers have received PCN and are trying to appeal them. If someone will receive a PCN now for using the car park let's say a month ago, they won't be able to appeal it because website now states Validation is required but a month ago it stated that validation is not required right?!

New member

Joined on Saturday 6th May signed up to the wrong gym in Northampton and even though we couldn't resolve it until after the bank holiday weekend the Manager Jamie has been nothing but helpful. The gym itself impressed me with great equipment and very clean and tidy. Look forward to using this gym.

Christian is an absolute monster in the…

Christian is an absolute monster in the best possible way! Class tonight was absolutely brutal but I feel like a new woman! Came in feeling really down and miserable but I’m leaving feeling really good and supported by Christian! A real angel of a PT / class runner. And also huge huge shout out to Miranda for fixing the vending machine!
