Fresh meat at affordable prices

Fresh meat at affordable prices. I slow roasted a leg of lamb, it was delicious and very tender, I have also slow cooked shanks of lamb cooked over 2 days again delicious and the meat fell away from the bone. Everything thing I have had from Brogdales has been superb

Really low quality meat

Ordered a deal ‘spend £30 and get a leg of Lamb for £10’ ordered chicken, mince and steaks. All had been frozen and were really low quality and the lamb had ‘Half price nectar price’ on it. Obviously from Sainsburys. The idea of going to the butchers is to get a better quality of meat, not this substandard trash. Deeply disappointed.

Hi Mark, Many Thanks for your review, from looking at your order you had ordered one of our £10 legs of lamb which as clearly stated on the product description on our website is a supermarket overrun product, is previously frozen and is of NZ,AU origin, If your not happy with any of the other products you have received we’d be more than happy for you to return these and offer you a full refund.

Mixed bag, but unhelpful, and variable quality

Visited the shop in Folkestone a few weeks ago for the first time with the intention of buying 8 rib eyes and a few other things. When I got there, they told me the rib eye price was the online price and couldn't sell it in store for the price I'd seen online in the shop. However, while I was browsing the shelves I saw the butcher bagging up some ribeye after all. I think this is probably because it looked like it was on the turn in the shop - definitely some darker colouring on it. I accepted it anyway, and it's been edible, but not great. However the bigger problem was the sausages - some of which were very nice, but one tray was clearly off once cooked. Despite providing all my purchase details they insisted I go to the shop to discuss it, but as it's in another town and of relatively low value, I'm not inclined to go through that process, particularly when I read about how difficult they can be about refunds. I did also buy a large steak pie from them, which was very nice.

Very unlikely to return, there's better butchers out there.
