Had to write to say how amazing Temple's electric bikes are. We took delivery of a Classic and a Step Through a few weeks ago and are blown away by how good these bikes are. They look beautiful (several great comments received already) and work brilliantly. The country lanes and hills where we live are a breeze now and we find ourselves nipping out on the bikes rather than use the car. The good weather may have helped as well! If you are thinking of getting an E Bike then Temple should be on your radar. Alex in customer care has responded promptly to any queries we had in set up and running including fixing a couple of minor issues. Having visited the Temple Shop and Assembly Plant in Bristol I can see they have a fabulous set up and are passionate about their business. My only criticism (as also highlighted by another reviewer) and an area for improvement is that Temple need a better telephone system. It's a lottery getting through to someone.

Temple Cycles are a small independent business, clearly passionate about bikes and cycling. I have purchased an Adventure Disc 3, a beautiful bike and very smooth to ride. I am looking forward to some long cycle touring trips ahead. Matt and colleagues have really thought about the design and purpose, to make the bike not only good looking but suitable for long tours with reliability and ease of maintenance in mind. Alex is a great point of contact, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Communicating by phone was occasionally a bit frustrating, but Alex always responded promptly to my emails. The bike was ready for collection on the day promised and all the people I met at Temple were friendly and interested. I can fully recommend Temple Cycles as trustworthy, providing excellent bikes with friendly service.

I have the step through lightweight, not only is it beautiful to look at ( constantly receive compliments on what a great looking bike it is) It’s also a pure joy to ride as I cycle around London!

After some initial confusion, excellent communication led to the delivery of a very high-quality bike for my wife. The customer service from the team, in particular Alex, was exceptional. I would highly recommend to buy from Temple if you want a durable, high-quality product with great sales support. I also bought a set of Temple 25.4 compact dropbars for my own bike, which are better than anything else I have found out there in this size.

I love my bike, the design is beautiful - classic but not chintzy like retro women's bikes end up being.

I'd been riding my old bike for years and finally decided to splash out on the advnture model ahead of this summer. Glad I did as it looks like the pictures: smooth gears, brakes responsive, looks good, low maintenance. Have just been using it for the commute so far, but have managed to work out how to strap my tent to the handlebars, so will be trying out that over the bank-holiday!

Delivery arrived on time, website clean and easy to use. Great quality product. Highly recommend.

Love my Temple, so much smoother to cycle than my alloy bike, the steel frame really smooths out all the bumps in the road. Great for off road gravel stuff too. And it looks great! Would definitely recommend!!

Got my single speed in early 2019 and was blown away by the lack of rattling and wobble that I assumed was just part of cycling before then!

I have since had 1:9 gears added by the Temple team for a reasonable fee (+very quick turn around) and cycled to France with panniers, camping along the way.

4 years in, it just gets more beautiful with each memory (scratch) I make, a frame for life, getting ever closer to my rattley old peugeot in style, but ever solid throughout.

Ordered a temple pannier bags for me and my girlfriend. Both fantastic quality, nice design, and look lovely. My one was bought in sale and so even cheaper. I've been cycling on a temple for years and the shop has always been great at helping me maintain it too.

Huge fan of Temple! I came across them on Instagram and was eyeing up their adventure disc model for about a year... Finally took the leap and I am so glad I did! Best bike I've ever owned. I get compliments every time I'm out for a ride, the machine is pure joy. 5/5 Temple, keep up the good work! Now to convince my wife to buy one...

I now have two Temple bikes having recently added the new eBike. Love them both, beautifully made and whilst I had an issue with the rear wheel a replacement was dispatched immediately and fitted by my local bike shop. Great bikes, great support. Thank you.

Fantastic service from start to finish.

I bought their classic lightweight a few months ago and it rides like a dream. You can tell all the parts are super high quality and the Brooke's saddle is wearing in nicely. I can't recommend highly enough!

I couldn’t be more impressed with Temple as a company. The bike is absolutely brilliant. Really good quality, perfect design and stunning details. I’ve been riding bikes for over 30 years and my temple actually tops them all! You get what you pay for, quality components and a very well put together and thought out bike. Delivery was fast, packaging was exceptional and it only took me 20 minutes to get the bike setup and ready to ride.

I bought a step through tourer. It's a lovely bike to ride and look at. But be warned if you have mud guards fitted it is impossible to remove the back wheel without detaching the mudguard and therefore also the panier rack. It's a fiddle and not something I want to have to do on the side of the road when I get a puncture.
I wrote to Temple Cycles as I feel they could warn people or change their design but they just said:" this is just a feature of the design which we can't change". I would have thought they designed their own bikes

A lovely bike let down by poor packaging. Quick service from Temple in putting the bike together and shipping. Received a week from ordering.

Bike arrived with the left hood punctured through the packaging and scuffed. Looks like package was trampled on during transit and several components were damaged: scuffed hoods; bent front disk brake disk; rear disk break calliper mis-aligned and started rubbing and ringing severely on my second ride 20km away from home; front derailleur misaligned and rubbing on top and bottom back gears when in the middle gear; wobble in rear wheel. I've had to invest in a number of tools and time to addressing all the above.

Bike received fitted with 40cm offroad tyres when bike spec advertises 32mm tyres. Temple's attitude was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ claiming that all parts subject to change. I'm not sure why Temple lacks the skills to keep spec sheets updated on their website. I gave Temple the opportunity to supply the advertised tyres but was ghosted. I suspect they will not honour warranty claims going forward.

Speaking of spec sheets, no information is provided on all supplied parts. The £500 hybrid I bought from the LBS came with touch up paint, owners and service manual. The £1800 Adventure 3 only comes with a ten page assembly pamphlet which is very dated and bears no resemblance to the parts supplied and zero information of what parts were fitted to the bike.

Packaging is very poor and lacks internal padding which is disappointing considering the £50 packaging and delivery charge. Temple was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when I reported damages and requested videos of all damaged parts.

If you do wish to invest in this bike then my advice is DO NOT ORDER FOR DELIVERY unless you like playing the lottery. I'd order to pick up ONLY and part with cash only when you've had a chance to closely examine and test the built bike.

I was interested in getting Temple's E Bike for my wife but will not be investing in this company given my poor experience so far.

I have bought Adventure Disc 3 from TempleCycles. It is a beautifully designed bike. Temple advertises it as a super reliable setup for long distances which is not true because this bike cannot take me up the hill around the corner. This bike does not fit its purpose!
It lacks a safety built-in feature in the gear design. Often when I cycle up the hill and try to switch its gear, the chain gets off. Once I put the chain back in, I cannot cycle up the hill and must carry it. Then, for some time I cannot switch my gear as it gets stuck. A few minutes/hours later for some reason, I suddenly can switch its gear. A few times my chain got off on a busy road. I was lucky I did not have an accident until now.
Temple did have a look at the bike for free. Their feedback was that I should not cross my chain and clean it.
They further sent me to their partner, Fettle. Fettle has cycled the bike up the hill and confirmed that the chain does get off but when “you do something wrong with it”!
While visiting Fettle, I was told that I am “being difficult”, and “need to learn how to use a bike” and inclined that I do not know how to use the bike because I do not have a driving license! Fettle continued defending Temple’s interests over customer service. Then, Fettle provided feedback to Temple on the outcomes of our meeting stating that “we both came to the conclusion that the bike is fine and the problem is that she hasn’t fully mastered how to use the gears” - I did not recall agreeing with anything that Fettle has said and they had no right to make any conclusions on my behalf while protecting Temple’s interests!

Temple has offered to change the gear at their own cost to the ones they have at the lower price range. It means changing the value of the bike from £1885 to £900 and me losing £1000. I had to decline the offer.
In addition, I ordered this bike in late September 2021. It arrived in early April 2022. They gave no apologies for the late delivery. I bought it with a cycle-to-work scheme and was paying for it immediately while I was supposed to save money on travel.

To conclude, a super reliable bike should be able to take an average user with poor cycling skills up the hill at least for a short distance. And, if not, then it should have been written on the website. Selling this bike is difficult because the lifetime warranty is not transferrable!

You must review their return policy as Temple does not take any responsibility for the product once it was delivered.

AVOID. A lovely bike but we have had 2 drivetrain component failures since we purchased it just 3 months ago. In both cases Temple Cycles did not want to take responsibility and blamed the issues on customer error. Their stance was the bike was checked when it left the factory so it must be our fault. In the end we paid our local bike shop to replace the parts. Very disappointing service from a premium brand. The warranty is clearly worthless so we just hope nothing else breaks this year.
