Nottingham branch: Car broke down just inside 6 month mark, meaning under consumer law they need to show there was no fault when they sold it. Despite repeated pleas to support me and promises they would call me back they didn’t return calls and now have refused to help, telling me no further response will be provided because now they are OUTSIDE the 6 month mark.

Want to see how awful things are…? Go to their showroom on a Saturday and talk to the people they tuck away in the service area and ask the about their experience… when I had a week of no response and turned up on their doorstep to make them talk to me it was enlightening!

Avoid Sytner and save yourself a headache, especially if you are a carer for a vulnerable person (which equally seems to make no difference).

Flawless customer service from start to finish by Kierran in Bodyshop. Communication and workmanship was first class…highly recommended.

Arun and Adam were extremely helpful they put up with all my questions and requests and made sure collection was an extremely smooth transaction would definitely recommend well worth the 350mile journey to collect.

The Salesman Knate Smith gave us a real good experience at Sytner. He made us feel welcome and done his very best to fulfill all my requests. Nothing was too much trouble for him. When I first got there I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to buy the car and after a few hours with Knate, I bought the car a very happy customer and he also helped with the road tax and insurance

Please please please take an extended warranty. I purchased a 4 year old Range Evoque and within a few weeks the service light came on ( this was supposed to have been done) it took lots of calls and no call backs to get it back in, when I did they just reset it. From then on it was problem after problem some of which was down to poor workmanship. I had to literally chase and chase, I was then told there’s nothing more they can do, however when I insisted they re looked at it, there were so many issues and then they still didn’t fix it and it went in again and alot of the issues were down to them not fixing it correctly.
It’s been nothing but stress and the customer service was awful with the exception of one lady on services who was thank goodness amazing.
I ended up having to call the head office. The total repairs on a vehicle I had only had for less than 6 months was in excess of £2000!!!!
Please do take a warranty I would be in a mess without it.
I would never ever buy from sytner select again I don’t believe for one minute they check the vehicles.
I have had previous cars from Sytner Mini and they were always amazing, these people are NOT.

Nice and pleasant and helpful, showed me to the car a left me to look round it witch I really like as I could look at what I wanted to, so all in all a very good experience, will recommend to anyone

I spoke with Allens over the phone, I mentioned how I wanted to view two different cars. He was very patient and allowed me to test drive both cars. By the time I had got into the second one, I already knew which one I wanted. It was a great service, and he had great knowledge and insight. I visited on the Saturday and picked my car up on the following Monday. The car was in pristine condition and I love driving it!

It was straight forward, and I spoke with Adam as well who gave me a great deal on some add-ons, I can't complain. Would happily return at the end of my PCP.

The whole set up at Sytner Select Nottingham is impressive with large waiting areas and drinks machines and views through to the immaculately prepared cars which are well lit and all undercover.
The people I had dealings with were polite and professional but more importantly good humoured and friendly, not the typical pushy sales type.
We were able to negotiate a deal which I was happy with so I'm now the proud owner of a porsche cayman. Big shout out to Knate, Arun, Trevor and Adam for helping to make the experience a positive one.

Poor communication, was interested in a motor and went to see it. Was working out various ways of financing it , had emailed in twice no response, phoned in twice no one available, finally got to the reason for no communication the car had been sold. I don’t mind that but can only be sold once but to not keep me advised was poor. So I still want to buy a car but it won’t be from here ! You only get one chance at making a good impression

I feel it necessary to warn and deter potential customers about the appalling condition in which my vehicle (VW T-Roc) was sold to me, and the applying condition in which my partner's vehicle (VW Golf) was sold to him, by Sytner Select Nottingham on 30th August 2024. We travelled all the way from Huddersfield to Nottingham, a three-hour round trip, with our newborn to purchase a vehicle each and I regret ever making the decision to do so.

First on the long list of issues with my vehicle, was that the assisted cruise control and lane assist failed to work on the motorway when I drove the vehicle home. Although I managed to get home, I had to first pull off the motorway to reset the car's settings as the "error" messages would not turn off after first attempting to activate the assisted cruise control and lane assist. I also noticed that the brakes were screeching; to say that this was disappointing is an understatement, and certainly not what one would expect when driving home their new vehicle.

I made contact with the team at Synter Select Nottingham and made arrangements for the vehicle to be taken to Volkswagen Huddersfield, where the issues with the assisted cruise control and lane assist were rectified, and the brakes were looked at, however, unfortunately the issues with the brakes continued. I was forced to return the vehicle to the Volkswagen dealership a second time, where a brake strip and clean was recommended. Volkswagen contacted Sytner Select Nottingham for authorisation of payment, however they failed to action this in time, despite having four days to do so. I had no choice but to return home and book a different appointment. This was after taking my newborn baby all the way to the dealership, early in the morning, in the cold weather. To make matters worse, I contacted Sytner to try and get hold of a manager, however I was told they were unavailable and that they would get in touch as soon as possible. This was at 10.30am, in the cold weather, with a newborn. I contacted Sytner later that afternoon (even though I shouldn't have had to), hoping to speak to someone, only to be told that the service team had all left for the day.

The strip and clean was finally carried out, however I am appalled to say that the health check carried out on the vehicle, when it went back in for the strip and clean, revealed issues with the air conditioning and further, more serious, and potentially fatal issues: a weaping offside front shock absorber, cords showing on the nearside rear tyre and the offside rear tyre perished within tread. I have been informed that these faulty tyres would have caused me to receive points on my licence if pulled over by the police, or they could have even blown at any time, causing serious injury, or even fatality.

It is an absolute disgrace that I have been driving a vehicle that was sold to me in such substandard condition, with my newborn baby as a passenger from the day that the vehicle was collected. One, minor issue would have been bad enough, however this is an absolute atrocity. The consequences of an accident caused by one of these faults are formidable to even consider. I am appalled at the corners that have been cut by Sytner when selling this vehicle to me.

The brakes were still not working properly (they are screeching), which means that more time had to be spent visiting Volkswagen for more diagnostics and repairs. The fact that all the issues have arisen during the 90-day warranty reinforces that this vehicle was sold to me in this disgraceful condition.

All the above is just pertaining to my vehicle; my partner's vehicle also had to undergo diagnostics following issues with the air conditioning, tyres and suspension. His vehicle also had a disgusting stain on the front passenger seat, which was concealed on the day of purchase, and smelled of smoke. We are STILL awaiting reimbursement for the valet that had to be carried out. Reimbursement was promised to us before Christmas and we still haven't received it. Motor Ombudsman has been contacted.
