Good quality soil with very helpful customer services. The driver/deliverer went the extra mile delivering it to our door even though he couldn’t get the lorry through because of parking difficulties! Thank you Dave.

Easy to order and arrange for delivery. Driver was great at making sure to get the load as close as possible to my front gate. Not and easy task

My order of soil improver arrived on time and on two pallets. The quality is very good. I would have gladly given a five star rating however one of the bags was split. This is the fouth time I have ordered from Gravelmaster and I'm just about to order some turf. I'll be delighted if the quality is similar to my previous orders.

Top quality product at a good price. Delivery was delayed slightly but the drop was exactly where I wanted it.

I bought the peat free organic compost from Homebase as it sounded like a healthy product and was on offer. I laid it in raised beds a month or two ago and today lifted back the hessian and to my absolute horror, I see it contains crushed glass, pink and blue plastic pieces, fragments of polythene and plastic rope. This is just unacceptable, I have been working very hard to regenerate my soil and repair damage that has taken place in the past just to find I have chucked recycled landfill on top. Shameful selling this as organic compost.

It's the cheapest stuff in homebase, it's peat free and organic.

I make my own compost for my garden, but I've been buying this stuff for my clients. Used for incorporating into backfill soil and as a top dressing soil improver.

Works well, stinks like manure as other commenters have pointed out. Don't see that as a problem, just smells like rich stuff. No problems so far, been using it a couple months now.

It is very fine in consistency though. Not as free draining as some others. Not necessarily a bad thing, just be mindful of what you plant in it.

Each bag has been well filled, it's great value for money and it's peat free. Good stuff

Sold two for the price of one and now I know why….it’s the smell. I grew up on a farm I live in a rural area I’m pretty immune to slurry and deadstock smells but this is awful I mean really awful. The last time I smelt anything like this it was arable farmers spreading waste from a treatment plant.the compost it’s self looks normal I might be very good. Won’t be buying it again.
In reply to supagrow that the smell is normal as it shows that the compost is still,composting, where to begin the compost is mostly dust if can’t possibly breakdown anymore and I have been making compost for years…..it has no smell but then I’m only composting garden waste!!!

SupaGrow farmyard manure. I’m old enough to know better! Read the reviews before you buy not after and if something is sold cheap it’s for a reason. I bought 10 bags from Homebase, when I opened the first one I should have returned the remaining 9. Only having to load them back into the car and then unload at the other end stopped me. Each “50 litre” sack is possibly two thirds full and the “farmyard manure” is black dust with a few bits of twig in it. There is no bulk to this at all just dust. No wonder there were no reviews on the Homebase website.

Used the compost as a mulcher in the beds and borders workingwell. Used the soil for lawn fantastic easy to use.

I wish I had seen these reviews before buying bags from Homebase. As a keen gardener, good compost should not give off this kind of smell (and if there is any smell, it should go in a matter of days once aired and dug in.
Would not recommend this product to anyone, I used it when reseeding my lawn and now I just feel like I am in a farmyard. However you are creating this compost, something is clearly wrong with your manufacturing or storage process. I hope it doesn’t kill off my newly seeded lawn as I will have to then buy all new bags of grass seed and start all over again.

as many others stated, this product killed most of my trees, the product is not good even for the price (special deals in homebase) just get something else!

Bought 14 bags of Supagrow organic compost from Homebase whilst out shopping with my young family. Whilst driving home noticed a extremely foul smell coming from my boot and my kids were complaining of the horrendous smell to the extent they were nearly sick. Fully opened all the car windows to get rid of the smell, but to no avail. The smell was so foul and overpowering it was still in the car throughout the 30 min drive home!

Got home and had to get everyone showered and all clothing washed as the smell was everywhere, not to mention my car which was full of this rancid smell and after a home valet, still smells of the stuff a day later. Having to get it professionally valeted!

Called Homebase to complain and for them to send their vans to collect, but told cant do that and the smell is rencid and normal? So they were unwililing to help ! I am a long term gardener and never had such rubbish rancid compost! It was a impulse buy and seemed a decent offer .

I am ultimately concerned that me and my family have been sat in the car inhaling such poison on the drive home and have all developed a sore throat and can still smell it everywhere?

Do not buy this stuff it is extremely foul and in my opinion toxic/poisonous.

I am stuck with these bags and just want rid, Homebase or Supagrow need come and take this rubbish back!!!! This stuff should not be sold or should come with a health warning!

Bought 10 bags of organic compost soil improver from a Homebase, as it looked perfect for what I wanted to improve my clay soil. The cost and package lured me in as it looked perfect. I used 3 bags and 7 have gone into a skip. I Followed all the instructions for a top dressing soil conditioner to improve soils. Within a week it’s started to kill my plants, if it kills my expensive palm tree I’m gonna go mental. Please don’t use this stuff it’s absolutely vile gear and smells and looks like Tar. I have no idea what’s it in. Please wake up Homebase.

Bought supagrow “ farmyard manure “ from Homebase and the smell is horrendous, just a chemical smell and couldn’t even find any manure in the bag, it should be renamed Find the Richard the Third ,a complete waste of money and Homebase should be ashamed selling it.

Got 4 at The Range. Can't accept the stinky and irritating smell. Also wonder about the volume, the bag is about 70% filled to me, so 35L-40L maximum, not 50L. Regret that I have opened 2 bags to check the quality, otherwise I will return them right away. Also regret not checking consumer's comments before purchasing. More, sorry to know I am not the only one to have such experience with this brand.

Wear gloves when handling. Not sure how this is classed as Organic, found different colours of glass in first 2 bags plus sandwich bag ties, bits of plastic. If it’s too good a deal…

I bought 10 bags from Homebase i was attracted by the cheap price. The compost smelt like burnt rubber tire. Question for SUPAGROW... what is it in the compost that looks super black like a rubber tire and smells like a rubber/ plastic car tire? And the pieces of twigs liok like they have been coated with an black oily substance like tar. I think as customers we deserve to know from SUPAGROW what it is this compost is composed of.
