Appalling service at every visit.

We dropped our car off at 8:00am for an MOT. When we returned to collect it at 4:00pm, we were told that the ramp was broken and therefore the MOT had not been carried out.

I completely understand that equipment can break down and that sometimes these things are unavoidable. What I do not understand is why you had our vehicle for the entire day and nobody thought to contact us to let us know. We only found out when we attended towards the end of your working day to collect the car. At what point were you actually planning to tell us?

Dropping a car off and arranging to collect it takes time and has to be factored into our working day. We now have to go through the whole process again for a second attempt at something that should have been completed on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. It feels as though the level of interest and customer service is very different once you’ve actually bought the vehicle. This is the third vehicle we have purchased from your Huddersfield branch, and based on our experiences, it is unlikely we will purchase another.

Within the past 12 months, we also had repeated problems with the battery not charging. The vehicle was initially checked and we were told there was no fault. After we insisted that the problem was still present, it was booked in for a second inspection, when it was finally confirmed that the battery was faulty.

On that occasion, we again dropped the car off at 8:00am and were told it would be ready before the end of the day. Once again, you had the vehicle all day and nobody contacted us to explain that the incorrect parts had been ordered. This meant we had to be without the car for another day despite having specifically been told the work would be completed within one day. No courtesy car was offered.

We pay approximately £45 per month for the service package, which represents extremely poor value considering the level of “service” we have received.

The recurring problem isn’t simply that things occasionally go wrong — that can happen in any business. It is the complete lack of communication when they do. Customers should not have to turn up at the end of the day to discover that work hasn’t been completed.

Very poor service and extremely disappointing from a dealership from which we have purchased three vehicles.

I will, however, say that the young lady on reception is always friendly and helpful. I actually feel sorry for her, as she seems to be left with the job of communicating and apologising for errors made elsewhere, while the people responsible don’t even show their faces.

Everything great with the exception of the collection and return charge which I was not expecting. Used the service for years which has always been free.

Didn’t like that the problem I came in with needed a part and £489 and two visits hasn’t worked and have been stuck twice where key won’t go in ignition .So still have the same problem as I had before you ‘fixed’ it. Plus have now no power steering which I had before coming to you.!!! Very very unhappy about this and will be getting in touch with Huddersfield Mercedes after the Bank Holiday
