Bethan from the Manchester office should be highlighted before I write anything else. I have just yesterday 5th Nov 2024, finished the divorce settlement which has gone on for over a year and been absolutely horrendous due to the obstructive and narcissistic tendencies of my former wife. I will not go into details of the obstructive nature and blocks that have been put in the way through this entire case from the other side, but instead highlight the understanding, professionalism and honest nature of Bethan who handled the case perfectly giving realistic and experienced advice which even though sometimes I did not want too due to my emotional state at times, followed to the letter. This led to this finally ending in a result although not exactly what I wanted, was a lot better than it could have been had I used a less experienced firm. I am content with the outcome and can finally move on with my life anew with enough from the result that Bethan, Lydia and my Barrister Harry (who I took on at the advice of Bethan) got for me. Harry (barrister) was worth every single penny I paid and was another great piece of advice from Bethan which I would not have done left to my own devices. Divorce can and has been for me very traumatic at times, but with this firm on your side things are more bearable if you follow the advice and let them do there work. All that said you are paying for professionals and will pay professional money so expect to pay around 30k by the end of it all and money up front as the bills are due each month, to enable them to keep on working. I very nearly chose a cheaper firm due to this fact. I am so glad now I am at the end that I did not go for the cheaper option. My ex did and lost more than she wanted. If you look at this figure and have enough equity in your own situation I cannot emphasise enough, look at the price as an investment and do not go with the cheaper option if you can afford it. Thank you for all your hard work Bethan, Lydia and Harry and for bearing with my ups and downs of emotional stress at times. 5 Stars all the way.

Very concerning, after making an Artice 17 request to delete my personal data, the firm ensured it was deleted immediately, yet several days later they were found to be still processing it. They have tried to claim that even though they confirmed it was deleted under my Article 17 request, that they had some sort of right, based on ICO guidance, that they can keep processing it for up to 30 days. Seriously... this is supposed to be a law firm!

SINCE THEIR RESPONSE 3/10/2024
Stowe Family Law have now tried to have my review removed, asking for 'more details' to 'help find my case'. KNowing that if I do not reply, the review gets deleted.

For the record, I asked them to remove my personal data after they kept texting me. I had initially sent a message for some advice and seeking a call back.When they messed that simply process up, I told them I no longer wanted their services and to remove my details from their system. They promises they would.

Days later, I got more unsolicited messages, I told them in no uncertail terms they were now breaching GDPR.

They appologised and said, "I WILL ENSURE YOUR DETAILS ARE REMOVED FROM OUR SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY.”.

Unbelievably, days later, they contacted me again and even called me, referring to information in my previous emails and mesaages, proving they had not been deleted.

When I made a formal complaint, they said, "We have 30 days to remove the data".

NO, you don't!

30 days is ICO guidance for the max time you should respond to an Article 17 request. That 'response window' is to acknowledge and confirm if and "WHEN" the Article 17 is complined with, i.e. when the data will be removed

By saying it is removed immediately, you have formally notified me you HAVE complied with it. You do not have any lawful right to continue processing any personal data AFTER confirming it is deleted. You are a law firm, this is pretty simple stuff, if you cannot follow basich GDPR laws and ICO guidance, god help anyone providing sensitve data to you.

You did not take GDPR seriously, your response is nothing more that lip service, to mitigate negative reviews. You breached my personal data, you are trying to now justify the breach rather than admitting to it. You are a law firm and should know better.

Yasmin was outstanding. Her knowledge and compassion was not only beneficial for a financial outcome but also helped with some of the emotional aspects of the break up. I am genuinely grateful.

Matt (Matthew Taylor​​​​) is one of the most professional and brilliant solicitors I have worked with. Because my divorce case is a bit complicated, I have worked with several solicitors from different firms, Matt is the most smart, pragmatic, and efficient one. I learned a lot from him, including but not limited to "Pragmatism over Juicitice", "Never pursue litigation out of principle", etc. He replies quickly, sometimes even during his Out-of-office hours, and never ignores any of my questions. Like many others, I experience a very long, contentious divorce. This has been very stressful and hindered moving on with my life. Due to the length I interacted with different solicitors but each of them was sympathetic to my circumstances and handled them very professionally. Extremely diligent and courteous staff triumphantly handled mum's difficult divorce during what was a very emotional time for all the family.

I had to use Stowe Family Law after a break up with my ex partner. Initially relations seemed to be going well with my ex and during initial consultation Stowe advised it would not be worth them getting involved if this was the case which to me demonstrated their integrity as this was not in their financial interests. Things did not last with my ex partner however and I ended up having to get Stowe involved at a later date. I was assigned Bethan Cooper and from the start she took the time to listen and took account of all information, and outlined clearly the steps involved at each stage of the process. She dealt with my uncooperative ex partner in a professional and calm manner and with her help I secured a separation agreement and a settlement which I am confident I would not have been able to do otherwise. Communication was always prompt, polite and clearly explained, especially where more complex legal terms or procedures were involved. Charges were fair and reasonable and I was happy with the price I paid for the work involved. While the process has taken a while to complete due to the lack of cooperation from my ex partner, I have felt reassured knowing that my case was being dealt with by Stowe Family Law and that they were working to secure the best outcome for me.
