brilliant service brilliant car dealer brilliant people
Visited Stockport Car Supermarket on 28ht May 2026 and spoke with Scott who was very friendly approachable and knowledgeable about the cars on the pitch. We were able to view the selected cars, given the keys to look inside and offered all the information we could ask for. Following a stress free test drive and fair honest valuation for our trade-in a sale was agreed and the car collected the following day. Brilliant car, brilliant dealership, most impressive. Many thanks to all at Stockport Car supermarket and I would thoroughly recommend this car dealership.
I bought a Nissan Micra 2020 from Scott…
I bought a Nissan Micra 2020 from Scott at Stockport Car Supermarket. This is rhe third cat I have bought from the dealership. Once again I wasn't disappointed. Such good service, Scott was so helpful and couldn't do enough to help me. I needed an automatic cat due to an injury to my shoulder, plus it had to be reliable as I am a carer and use .my car to visit clients at home. They ne er lease to amaze me with their service and the time they spend with their customers ensuring that you have the right car. Theg are not pushy, as some dealerships are, and talk you through ever my aspect of the car. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. 5 stars for Stockport Car Supermarket. Thank you guys, especially Scott, you are all stars.
Purchased a car from this company
Purchased a car from this company, within 2 weeks the engine management light was illuminated (twice). Took to my local garage who diagnosed the fault but SCS said not to get any work done as they would do it. The car was returned, one employee told myself over the phone the fault was in fact a lot worse than originally thought from what the garage at their end has diagnosed (assuming he wasn’t meant to tell me this) as they suddenly needed a second opinion and then suddenly the car had zero faults, never had and the first 2 garages were wrong?? As I was fully aware that they were by now trying to get out of helping I requested a refund as I was still in 28 days rtc period. The communication was dreadful, I spent days ringing and emailing, chasing information and all they had were excuses. In the end I ended paying to take this company to court to get the money back I paid for this car. I was without a vehicle for 5 months, as a result I spent a small fortune on UBERS and having to ask for lifts to help with work and my children and their after school activities. I would not even risk the stress and expense of buying a car from here. Please avoid at all costs, absolute crooks!!!
Avoid avoid avoid!
I purchased a car on finance in Sept 2025 at 7 months pregnant. I needed a new car for my growing family and Oli was helpful, quick and attentive. However, shortly after purchasing the car, the engine fault light came on. The car sat on the drive for a few months and when I took it to my mechanic in dec I called the dealership. They said there was nothing they could do to help as it had exceeded the 3 month warranty. I called back in Jan to explain it had been back to the mechanic and the car was not fit for purpose and needed a new engine. Sadly, the dealership said I would have to pay for the repairs of £550. I refused and seeked advice through citizens advice and long story short, Stockport car supermarket never took accountability even after having an independent party confirm the car was faulty at point of sale. After 3 months, I got my money back through the finance company however, Stockport car supermarket made the whole ordeal extremely slow and stressful. I had to get public transport with a newborn and 3 year old throughout winter and only received an apology once I called to tell them everything had been resolved, no thanks to them at all. Don’t waste your time or money!
Great Customer Service!
I went back to Stockport Car Supermarket & I couldn’t have been happier with the help I received.
It was Paul who sorted everything out for me, this was the first time I’d ever gotten a car on HP on my own so I was a bit clueless. It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing in some parts but Paul was amazing & worked it out in the end for me. I came away with exactly what I’d asked for, I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone local!
Spoke with Oli
Spoke with Oli, very easy to deal with gives all the information required about the car you are interested in. Didn't follow me around the show room, just left me to it and waited for me to go to him. No hard sell just good advise. I would highly recommend.
A not so mini rip off
I bought a mini off this dealership in September last year. It was stressed to the owners that the most important factor was a reliable car as it was needed to help provide support to a family member battling cancer. Within just over 2 months the car broke down due to failed clutch and fly wheel.
The dealership refused to take any responsibility for the car and said i wasn't covered under anything. This was not true as the garage is bound by the terms of the Consumer Rights Act.
It took weeks of emails challenging the dealership before they accepted this responsibility and they eventually inspected the car.
The owner said that as i had driven the car (what else would i be doing?) the car was not covered as it was wear and tear. They based their response on the number of miles i had driven from the point of sale, however have refused to acknowledge concerns raised that the sale document falsely registers the miles of the car when it was sold. When checking the online MOT certificate the mileage was more, a month prior, to the recorded sale when i bought the car.
I have also argued that regardless, the car was not of sufficient quality, if after such a short period of time, it breaks down and needs a new clutch.
Under the Consumer Credit Act the dealership has to prove the car was not faulty at the time of purchase. I have asked for evidence of inspections at the time of sale and when it was re-inspected, which i am still waiting for a month now.
The dealership hide behind the AA inspection, which if it was properly undertaken can clearly hold no assurance the car is of a suitable quality.
The issue has been raised via the AA Ombudsman who have also requested information and have also been waiting weeks and not responded to with what has been requested.
This dealership accept no responsibility, fail to show any empathy or compassion and have stated it is acceptable that just over 2 months from selling a car, their customer is expected to pay a further £1500 to repair the vehicle.
Their generous offer, which was the final kick in the teeth, was that they would get their garage to repair the car at cost and they would then pay, but then want me to pay them back. This was no offer at all, and also their at cost repair came back higher than my normal garage.
This issue has been going on since mid-December, the last direct correspondence with the dealership was mid January, and even the AA Ombudsman is seemingly unable to get them to respond.
The service while buying the car was so positive, it is such a shame that it was all built on lies. I asked for help in a difficult time to sell a reliable car. I am now left commuting by train back from Leeds to Manchester whilst this issue continues. I wish i had never walked through the doors of their dealership. They are trading off the good name of the AA, but do not let that fool you, and do not buy a car from Stockport Car Supermarket.
Red Audi
I purchased an Audi recently and the purchasing was made so easy by Scott. Scott was great to deal with and everything he promised has been fulfilled. I had a broken heater part which he promised he would fix and fit. Been today and he fulfilled his promise. He was informative without being pushy. I even got a Welsh cake and a latte. I was made to feel very at ease and I would recommend this business. The age of the Audi meant it only had a cd player and radio. Which I pointed out. However Scott found a solution and offered to get it fitted before I even picked the car up. I may have it fitted in the future. My main point is he found solutions. So thankyou especially to Scott as I love my Audi.
First class company
When I phone Stockport car supermarket to enquire about a car I had seen on their website, it was answered in a very pleasant friendly manner by Scott.
I arranged to see the car and he took me around all the car and gave me time to make my own observations without any pressure. I arranged to have the car and pick it up a few days later. Scott kept in contact with me and kept me fully informed of all aspect eg mot when the bank draft had gone through. He made the transaction a very easy process. The car is absolutely spot on and I'm so very pleased with it.

Make sure you have a detailed inspection before purchasing or stay clear
Purchased a car and stupidly trusted what they told me without having an inspection. Never again...either buying without an inspection or anything to do with this company.
I was told...and have a copy of the invoice... that one turbo had had a crack repaired. The other was apparently ok. The risk was mitigated- supposedly by the warranty they sold me, which would cover a subsequent failure. Just in case, I upgraded the warranty cover given the potential cost of repairs.
3 months after the purchase I had a post purchase inspection and, lo and behold, the other one was cracked. When I contacted Stockport Car Supermarket they told me to contact the warranty company and wouldn't look into it until the claim had been processed. Sure enough, after months and months of back and forth, the warranty company rejected the claim saying there was insufficient proof the turbo was cracked...even though the marque specialist had removed the engine and sent the turbo to be repaired. By the time they started disputing the repair, the turbo had been repaired and was back in the car. The warranty company asked for it to be removed again so they could see the crack even though it had been fixed and rather than accept the garage's word.
Contacted Stockport Car Supermarket again and was told the turbo may have cracked within the 3 month window. Obviously. Over 3 months during which time I had only driven some 500 miles, of which 250 were bringing the car home after the purchase. I was told to send an email to the company boss to air my grievance. I did, over a week ago, and no response to the email or subsequent chaser.
Probably also worth mentioning there were lots of other things that were recommended to fix including the suspension- various parts, brake discs, pads and hoses replacement, steering rack and a radiator. All in all, the work carried out came to £12k...rather more than I think was reasonable, especially as I was only looking for the amount the warranty should have covered and the cost of the warranty itself, some £3k- under the premise that they sold me a dud warranty as well as a substandard car.
Am considering legal action.
As per other comments, well worth avoiding the risk of issues and stay clear.
bought a car they saidvthey had valeted…
bought a car they saidvthey had valeted the car inside and out the inside was filthy food and oil stains inside then some of the lights wouldnt work
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, I've struggled for over 2 months because this dealership sold me a faulty car, Also knowing i had two young kids. They insisted there was nothing wrong apart from the advisory on the MOT (somthing with the suspension). The suspension was knocking, grinding from the gearbox/clutch and entertainment kept cutting out. I asked them to fix it all and they said we'll fix the suspension "as a gesture of good will", when I finally picked the car up after a week, the knocking and grinding was worse than before. When I contacted the dealership again they said numerous people had drove the car and couldn't find any faults. Despite the videos of the grinding and knocking they still wouldn't accept there was faults and when I asked someone on the phone whats his opinion on the noise, all's i got was 'Josh I'm not going to comment'. I asked numerous times for proof that the work had been carried out and failed to provide any evidence. I then decided to contact the garage directly (The mechanics where the dealership said the work was completed) who confirmed over two seperate phone calls that HE HAD NOT carried out any work on the car. I tried contacting ombudsman but they couldn't touch the dealership because they're not accredited with any of their codes. I then had to go through my finance company who arranged an inspection on the vehicle which confirmed loud knocking of the suspension, loose wheel arches and missing clips on the engine tray. The finance company tried to contact the dealership several times with deadlines to respond but never did.
This company is an absolute disgrace, full of arrogant, disrespectful and ignorant people.
Don't waste your time even considering this place. Bunch of Conmen.
Take this review "as a gesture of good will"
SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS!
My partner bought a Peugeot 308 on finance to only realise there was a problem within the FIRST WEEK of having it. He told Stockport car supermarket there was suspension knocking. The dealership accepted the car to fix the problem "as a gesture of goodwill." They had an AA inspection report done on the car. The day he picked it up the car seemed a lot worse than before. My partner told Stockport car supermarket about it and said he would like a return. (He was within his rights for the 30 day return). They refused to accept there was problems and wouldn't accept his rights to return. (Baring in mind we have two young children who was scared of the loud knocking). He sent video and picture evidence to prove the faults which they said "I'm not going to comment."
Apparently the dealership took the car to a garage for the suspension work to be done but couldn't provide any evidence so my partner rang the garage himself. The mechanic confirmed he had not done any work on the car.
The finance company arranged an independent inspection which identified loud knocking with the front suspension, missing clips from the engine tray and loose wheel arches. The dealership failed to respond to anyone about this so the finance company had to do an internal rejection which left our family without a car for 2 months. Thanks to the dealership for the stress, worry and loss of money over Christmas and new year period. Luckily enough for us we won this rejection with all the evidence we had but for others this might not be the case. Be wary of this company and make sure you have all the evidence if you do buy.
I left this review as a "gesture of goodwill," as you say. 👍
What a great car buying expirience
What a great car buying expirience, friendly helpful people, Mick/Mike went the extra mile even sorting my personal number plate out and supplying and fitting them free of charge. That's what I call service no hard sell just professional, curtious staff.
I cannot stand car dealerships - but these guys were unbelievably good
Can I start by saying I'm not a bot. I'm not related to or associated with anybody at the dealership. I have been leaving honest reviews on here for some time now - no, I'm not being paid to leave one either.
I had seen some reviews and couldn't work out how some were amazing and others so poor. I went in with my eyes open and ended up more than delighted.
The car I purchased was exactly as promised. It was collected and delivered to me from across the country. The team I dealt with were excellent - Mike is true gent and somebody who clearly cares about doing right by people. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout, as too his colleague Olly.
I had been searching for a car for over 2 years and i've kissed many proverbial frogs to get to this gem. I really cannot fault them. I went to main dealers, large corporates, car buying services - none of them were honest or willing to really help. There was no personal input at all. I hated the experience. Mike and his guys were a welcome antidote to the madness.
I can't really say much more. In a world where perfection doesn't exist, these guys and this process came extremely close.
Thanks very much Mike et al...
Stockport Car Supermarket is
Stockport Car Supermarket is, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and unethical dealership I’ve ever encountered. I bought a car from them only to discover that the rear boot tail lights were not working—a clear safety issue that they failed to disclose. Despite claiming to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and forcing me to pay £99 for an AA inspection, this glaring fault was completely overlooked. How does an “inspection” miss something as basic as non-functioning rear lights? It feels fraudulent and dodgy, to say the least.
When I contacted them about the issue, they ignored my calls for four days. I eventually received a generic email response saying they would “sort it out,” but when I finally spoke to the manager, his behavior was appalling. He showed no professionalism, no concern for the problem, and no sense of responsibility. Instead of addressing the issue under their supposed “warranty,” he tried to shift the blame onto me.
The manager had the audacity to say I should pay for an issue with the part-exchange vehicle I traded in—a vehicle their own mechanic supposedly inspected and approved! My car had no issues when I handed it over, and their attempt to backtrack and claim otherwise felt like a tactic to deflect attention from their own fraudulent practices.
Even worse, the manager said he’d only pay for the rear boot tail lights (a problem they sold me) if I covered the supposed issue with my part-ex car. This is completely unethical and feels like extortion. A business like this, which sells cars with safety issues and then tries to weasel out of repairs, cannot be trusted.
The manager also tried to dismiss the severity of the problem, claiming that the faulty tail lights “don’t fail an MOT.” This statement is outrageous and irresponsible—it shows a total disregard for customer safety and legal compliance. Instead of offering real solutions, the manager brushed off my concerns and suggested I simply return the car. He knew I live three hours away and clearly didn’t care about the inconvenience, time, or stress this would cause.
Adding insult to injury, they only offer a 1,000-mile warranty instead of the standard three-month warranty, and even that warranty is essentially worthless. When you raise issues, they find every excuse not to honor it.
The whole experience reeked of fraudulent behavior, from the missed inspection faults to the attempts to manipulate and shift costs back onto me. It’s clear they prioritize profit over honesty, safety, and customer service.
I deeply regret traveling three hours to buy a car from them. Their unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and complete lack of accountability are unforgivable. If you value your money, safety, and peace of mind, avoid Stockport Car Supermarket at all costs. They are running an unethical and borderline fraudulent operation.
