Hi there,
We do not manufacture rooflights; we are a supplier. Any concerns relating to manufacturing quality must therefore be reviewed by the manufacturer directly.
You contacted us on Friday 6th March and we responded the same day. The reported issue was immediately forwarded to the manufacturer for assessment as advised, which is the correct process for any potential manufacturing concern. We are currently awaiting their response.
As the manufacturer is still reviewing the issue, it is not appropriate at this stage to assume responsibility for any replacement costs. We will continue to assist in resolving the issue once the manufacturer has completed their assessment.

Don't limit your search for a Velux product to the Velux website.
I wanted a like for like replacement of a specific type of Velux blind. This was unavailable on the Velux website, but Sterling were able to source this from Velux. So, well done Sterling.

Outstanding customer support
I cannot speak highly enough of the customer service I received from Elena at Sterlingbuild E-Commerce.
Without her professional support, I genuinely don’t think I would have managed to resolve the numerous issues we experienced with the couriers. We had skylights delivered damaged, and on one occasion an expensive wooden skylight was left outside in pouring rain for several hours despite very clear instructions not to deliver before a specified time. The instructions were completely ignored, and the window was left exposed, soaking the timber and causing further delays to our roofing schedule. The entire situation was incredibly stressful and significantly delayed our roofers. However, throughout it all, Elena remained calm, professional, and proactive. She took full ownership of the problems, organised a replacement window quickly, resolved an issue with the Velux solar controller, and ensured everything was followed through properly. Her communication was excellent, and she genuinely cared about getting things sorted. I have another six skylights to order very soon and, after the courier issues, I was understandably hesitant. However, knowing Elena would be handling the order gives me complete confidence that it will be in safe hands. Thank you, Elena, you have been an absolute star!

Estimated delivery 1-2 days more like weeks
They are saying estimated delivery 1-2 working days and it transpired that they sold me a window which they didn't have in stock. Sending you false track delivery details. Really disappointed.
I am sorry I haven't noticed that the essentials part has a different delivery schedule. Today (17th ) the DX delivered collar, insulation and flashing. No window yet. I will see if it comes tomorrow.

You placed an order for 1 window, 1 flashing, and 2 insulation collars on 08.12.2025 at 8.03pm.
The order was processed on 09.12 at 2:55pm - less than 24h after order placing, as per our SLA.
We had both the window and flashing in stock, but had to order the collars from Fakro. The order for the insulation collars was sent to FAKRO on 09.12.2025 at 3:01pm. Both insulation collars are shown on a lead time of 5-7 working days, which meant the window and flashing would then be aggregated and sent through together, as we are unable to separate despatches due to a single delivery fee being charged.
You contacted our customer service on Monday (5th working day) and as a good will gesture our team has despatched the order on a premium AM delivery for Wednesday 17.12.2025, 7th working day and within SLAs.
Furthermore, as stated on the website, all delivery times given are estimates, subject to delays and rescheduling based on stock or courier issues.

The goods were delivered quickly.

Fakro skylight just sent in a cardboard box
I gave up after multiple attempts at deliveries of this model of window arrived with the attached flashing bent and the joints in it coming apart. Sterlingbuild were very helpful and did their best throughout, trying 2 replacement deliveries in addition to the first one, but each arrived with the window damaged inside the box. The problem is caused by their supplier Fakro as these windows are sent out by them just loose in a cardboard box, no protection or restraint inside whatsoever, so unless the box is always kept flat (risking the glass) inevitably all the weight of the window falls onto the flashing which buckles and the pressed folds come apart where bent.
Completely mad to send a window by courier without any protection. The flashing comes attached, not as a kit, and the flashing materials are poor quality and design considering it’s for a window exposed on a roof.
