ShipMyCar are a great company in my view. They dealt with the complexities of getting a scooter (which I had bought for my daughter) through the NOVA process and special mention and praise for Nick, who was a lifesaver and a real credit to the organisation!

OUR CAR WAS STOLEN !!!!!!!

I had an extremely stressful experience with Ship My Car in Milton Keynes after my car was stolen while it was in their care for less than 48 hours in December 2025.

Unfortunately, the problems started well before the theft. The vehicle was left sitting at Southampton Port for around 7 weeks before being collected despite us repeatedly calling and chasing them to arrange pickup. This level of delay and lack of organisation was extremely frustrating and set the tone for the rest of the experience.

Communication throughout was also very poor. Phone calls regularly went unanswered and it often felt as though they simply avoided picking up the phone when they recognised the caller. When you are dealing with something as important as vehicle importation and custody of a high value asset customers should not have to constantly chase for updates.

Another major issue involved the IVA test. We were told the earliest appointment they could arrange was two months away. After taking matters into our own hands and contacting the DVSA directly we managed to secure an appointment the very next day which raises serious questions about how proactively Ship My Car were actually managing the process.

The situation escalated significantly when our car was stolen from their Milton Keynes facility on 14th December. In our view this represents serious negligence. Regardless of whether thieves forced entry onto the premises they should never have been able to access the vehicle keys at all. We were told the key lock box may have been pried open with a tool. If that is the case then storing keys in a small lock box is completely inadequate for a facility holding high value vehicles. Keys should be kept in a secure floor mounted safe or stored offsite not somewhere that can be easily forced open.

As of now, just shy of 3 months after the theft, we have still not received an insurance payout and just get the " we will update you when we can", we remain at a loss of approximately £42,000+. The lack of resolution and accountability has made an already stressful situation even worse. Because of this we will be pursuing legal action against Ship My Car.

Based on our experience I strongly recommend that others think very carefully before using this service. The delays, lack of communication and ultimately a serious security failure resulted in a very costly and frustrating experience for our family.

Also while reading through the reviews we could not help but notice the large number of perfect 5 star reviews that have appeared over the last few days many from accounts that seem to have only started leaving reviews since February 2026, Funny that.

I bought a car online and needed a reliable auto transport service to deliver it to my home. The shipping agent coordinated smoothly with the dealer and scheduled everything perfectly. The car arrived in excellent condition and the whole experience was stress free.

We needed to transport our SUV to another city for a job relocation, and their team handled it professionally. The agent arranged pickup within two days and provided constant tracking updates. The vehicle reached safely and earlier than expected.

I used ShipMyCar to bring my 1966 Ford Mustang over from the States and honestly the whole thing was far less stressful than I expected. From the shipping arrangements through to arrival in the UK, everything was handled professionally and clearly explained.

I was really nervous about shipping my car across the state, but the vehicle shipping agent made everything so simple. They explained the entire process clearly and kept me updated until delivery. My car arrived right on time without a single scratch.

Regrettably I used "ShipMy Car" to export 4 cars from Dubai to London.
The process was as shambles from start to finish. Their third party in Dubai was inefficient and disorganised. Before shipping they sent me photos of my 4 vehicles ...and they were not mine!
The cars were kept in Dubai in excessive heat and dust for over a month before they started their journey. The heat resulted in the interior roof lining coming detached in my Mclaren and my Aston Martin. The leather dashboard bubbled up in the Aston.
Their workshop people ripped out the rear carpet in the Aston (not sure why) and didn't put it back. Just heavy handed, and showing a complete lack of care.
When the cars finally arrived in port in London they stayed there for 3.5 weeks before clearing. SMC said this was because of paperwork irregularities with another car in my container. But prior to shipping I was assured my cars would not be shared with anyone else! That's in writing! Therefore I can conclude this was deceitful.
My partner also shipped a car with SMC also Dubai to London and it was stolen from their warehouse along with several other cars.
From the date of collection to the date of receipt of my cars, it took 7 months!!!!
All in all just a company to avoid at all costs. They do not care...they just want your money.

A total disaster...Let's start at the end:
- My imported car was stolen (along with several other cars) from SMC "secure facility" on Dec 14th.
- In 8 weeks since I had just one call from SMC…in which they asked for a payment!
- My car failed its IVA test, the car having been with SMC for 2 months to prepare it.
- On arrival in the UK port my car (and cars belonging to my partner) wasn't cleared for over 3 weeks.
- On collection of our cars in Dubai they then sat for 4 weeks in the hot sun without being shipped. When inspected they were baking and covered in sand.
- On collection of the vehicle(s) from my house they lost one registration plate, requiring me to attend a police station for 8 hours to resolve it. SMC did not help or apologize.
The highly trained driver who collected my car…it was in fact his first day at work and I had to load the car for him.

It has now been over 7 months waiting for my car and dealing with Nick and Kingsley. They have been dismissive, rude, and passive aggressive throughout. There is no aspect of this these people or their company that is smooth, professional, or caring in any way.
In the beginning Nick and Kingsley were very helpful, friendly and cooperative.
I was advised by SMC that their insurance will cover the loss. But since then there has been no contact or updates, so now they have a lawsuit.
I have photos and correspondence that supports every detail of this review.

Excellent Service and updates throughout the process. Removed all the stress of dealing with red tape involved with the importing a vehicle into the UK.

Grade A service Kingsley is a fountain of knowledge- not a problem he cannot solve

We contacted about getting a car on ROI plates registered in the uk. Had to chase several times to get a response. In the end up we left it and found another company.
Wouldn’t recommend these at all.

The info@shipmycar has been cc’d in every email. I suggest you speak to Kingsley and ask him about the email thread begging with - Type approval VIN:….. as he is part of the whole chain. The past communication we had from
Him was the 10th of November and he has been chased twice since and no reply at all.
We have since found another company who have after a week done more then you did in 3.
Again would honestly not recommend this company at all.

Was a very long and stressful situation for us. We didn't know what we got ourselves into when purchasing a Jersey cat S car (thinking that being Jersey won't be hard to get it registered). Ship my car helped us with the procedure. It wasn't easy for either of us.. several months of chasing DVLA resubmitting our case to them and so on. By far I can tell I would have gave up long time ago but Ship My Car really tried their best and today we had the confirmation that the car has a Reg No. We are very happy and although sometimes you, as a customer, think it's the company's fault.. in fact it's the DVLA who's holding things back and giving you a hard time.
