Revoked my lifetime license

I have been using this software for years. Purchased it in 2019, been using it for multiple years without needing to renew it because I bought the lifetime license. On my new PC I tried installing it, after not using it for some time and now they claim the license was not lifetime and thereby is expired. Great.

I purchased the product some time ago. For quite some time I was really pleased with it overall with only a few glitches. However what happens now is when there is an update which is almost weekly the software literally hijacks my computer with a popup telling me I need to update it. I can be in the middle of work and I have to stop work because this enormous pop is blocking what I'm doing. It also won't let you close it. You can click cancel and then it forces you to another popup which then makes you confirm that you are "sure". Once you click that another popup shows up and forces you to pick a web browser. There is absolutely no way to close these popups until you click one of the browsers which then opens the website to the company.

I have never owned a software suite that operates in such a manner.

I then tried to reach customer support. Utter waste of time. They just argue with you and tell you to update the software. I don't think they understand that I will update the software when I'm ready to update the software not because their software has now been designed to hijack my computer and force me to do so.

The customer service representatives are not only less than helpful they border on being obtuse, refusing to acknowledge this is a problem.

If I go to use the software they are welcome to send a popup. They have no right to code their software to take over my entire PC for any reason whatsoever.

I actually think they should refund me but that's not going to happen so I'm going to make sure people know that when it works it usually works well but the privacy concerns and hijacking my laptop until I comply with a third party software demand is not acceptable.

They don't see this as a problem so it's obviously they don't value their customers. Paid for or not I'm uninstalling it and looking for something else. However I will continue to share reviews about how horrible my experience has been to warn people that this company doesn't respect their customers.

spams me with pop ups made me lose a clash royale game because it constantly asks me to spend more money on it and it isnt even good anyway

IDM has been very good until recently. Many websites now stream in HLS/M3U8 and it cannot aggregate these into 1 file. I asked about adding this feature 3 times and got no response. I am having to rely on other apps and extensions more and more and I think unless IDM has a major overhaul it is going to become redundant software!

Hit and miss, sometimes it works and sometimes it just ruins ur internet settings, uninstalling helps sometimes. If your pc has really bad speed this app helps!

WORST!! This is the worst download manager ever.

The download data gets corrupted easily. whenever I pause the downloading or the internet restarts, the downloading loses some portion of data which was downloaded before. I downloaded a file of 37gb. First time the downloading went well, it completed download but during assembly the parts of the download, all the data got lost. I had to download the file again but second time it lost data on 35gb when my network got restart. Okay I understand maybe this is my network fault. When I retried, HECK!! the downloading started from beginning. At this point, I was extremely pissed. Losing to much of my internet data for nothing.

I don't hope for bad on this company but pray that they correct their software soon. However, I am never going to use this ever again

I bought the lifetime license without knowing it doesn’t work on my MacBook. I emailed the support team and asked for a refund. The next day, they gave me a full refund with no problem. They could’ve ignored me and kept the money, but they didn’t. That shows they really care about their customers. Big respect to the support team, they were fast and fair. I’ve used the product on my friend’s computer before, and it works great. Just sad I can’t use it on mine.

I downloaded a 250gb file at 91% and an error occurred. Wasted time and transfer of gb. I do not recommend.

they have good app and the app is to fast to download every thing and i love it so much i like it.

I`m aware this is an unclaimed business and I see the negative reviews. These users are simply wrong. I pirate A LOT of software or buy dodgy keys from Russian Key sites. IDM can be pirated but the nagging is too much, It`s simply a magnificent piece of software and the grabber is better than any I have experienced. 19 quid *UK* for a lifetime license is super worth it and I will use this to download a literal ton of pirated and cracked software, as well as copyrighted YT material. Whatevs. If you need it, buy it.

I decided to cancel their services and followed the correct procedures, however I got debited nonetheless which I gave grace to and did a follow up with an agent who assisted me in filing for a refund. I have been waiting for the refund requested from the 22nd of May 2024 and I’m still waiting for one thousand Rands to this day. (7.08.2024)

I have been using the IDM for a while and I loved it. I didn't face any issues and it really accelerates the download speed a lot.

Well it really speeds up downloading even from hosts that have very slow servers and I'm on trial time but I reading reviews and it's clearly something wrong like, you have 1star or 5 which to me means 1star is not happy customer, 5star is your own opinions. Website says 20years anniversary with 2 000 000 registered users and you have 20 opinions on trust pilot... ATM to me you works fine, no issues but after what I've read I'm not gonna buy license. People say you blocking them and asking for passport, this is bad. I'm not sure about the company that's why I give 3* so it doesn't change their total rate at all and you all can read my thoughts.

I did buy the license and it turns out the code didnt worked. It said the serial number blocked by the server. Already contact them and they said its because I used the code outside the resident when I purchased like okay?? I currently on a vacation and I used my own card so its useless. They didnt give me a refund. bad experience with them

Seemed to work pretty well at first with the first file I was downloading which was a pretty large one (26.GB) Now I did this with their free trial, and expected somewhat of a good outcome with it's reputation of being able to increase the speed significantly of any file! but I was extremely dissapointed with how all it took was for me to close the lid of my laptop briefly, and come back to the entire download ruined! I was recieving error messages talking about "file can't be resumed" suggesting I try all these tips, and steps that no one has time for!! to make things worse, idm is a PAID service, so you'd think that with the requirment of having to pay for long time use, would ensure every customer/ user that what they're paying for is not flimsy and LEGIT, I shouldn't have to worry about not closing my laptop just for a file to download properly, for other downloading managers that don't require a form of payment in return i'd usually cut slack for, as they're providing users with free applications, which is helpful for anyone, but if it's a program like this? recieving cash on the daily? THAN IDM YOU NEED TO STEP YOUR GAME UP

I have used this program for many years and it always delivers to download videos from Youtube and Facebook and elsewhere. Their customer service team is first class and through all the changes on the internet and my various PC and laptop updates, etc., they have always responded quckly with quickly with the right solution.

Bought a lifetime license for 1 pc in 2017, it is now 2022. Very happy customer. Their constant updates ensure the extension always work no matter the updates done to almost every websites. (FB, YT, TT, and much more)
