That complaint just made to customer service:

Dear madam/sir

I’ve been to your branch in 34 Warrender park road Edinburgh EH91HH for groceries and to pay my house rental, I gave my allpay card to joe (branch supervisor) to make the transaction but I notice when he gave the receipt that one digit of the card is missing which mean the £150 I paid him went to somebody else’s account, I ask to rectify but failed and tried to refund me the money but failed again, he called Christie (branch supervisor) to sort out the problem but she failed as well, she said that staff are not well trained to deal with
allpay cards.
Now it’s been 1.30 hour since I’ve been in the shop, it’s 22.24pm and because I insisted in getting my money back and because of that they called the police on me, I haven’t spoke the them yet but I’m getting the incident number from them and I will definitely getting in touch with the local trade standard to let them know about the situation.
If it’s how you treat your customer , then better retrain your staff on how to deal with people’s in a professional and proper manner.

The store manager tonight in Edinburgh, Portobello, brazenly admitted that the product I wanted to buy was being listed and priced as another, completely different and much more expensive item. I requested to pay the proper price but the manager then demanded that he could only sell me the item for the wrong product price because otherwise, it would supposedly affect his stock/sales report. He didn't admit how much of this product he already sold at the higher incorrect price and was completely unapologetic.

Staff are useless the time is 08:48 and the have no bot food ready they advertise coffee and hot rolls from 07:00 the only decent thing is they are consistently useless staff are lazy and act like they don’t want to be there just got to stop going in to scorned cause your garanteed to be disappointed

5 stars for the staff at the Coupar Angus branch. The staff here are some of the kindest I have ever encountered. Huge respect to them all! However it is a disgrace that it is company policy to throw away out of date food! Why can't it be donated to a homeless shelter, food bank, soup kitchen??? Absolutely disgraceful! People are going hungry in this country let alone the wider world. Really is incredibly wasteful and shameful!!!

Went in to buy things this morning and assistant was so unpleasant, I had to apologise for not wanting to use the self service check out even though shop was empty. I placed my bag up on the counter and she scanned my items and dumped them at the side of my bag. I left and couldn't even say thanks, I felt like I was putting her out her way to serve me. This is not the first bad customer services experience that I have had in there, there is another assistant who thinks she can make completely inappropriate remarks and has done this with me more than once and I am sick of it. I am a paying customer, just want to go in and get my shopping, pay for it and walk out. I actually dread seeing the one with the inappropriate comments being on. If there was another shop nearby I would not go in there again. They need trained to deal with customers professionally and mind their business.

The new staff that has been hired are so unhelpful and unwelcoming. The staff that have been there for years care about their job. These new hires shouldn’t have got the job. They don’t realise they aren’t there just to work a till.

Was at this store on 23/2/25 at around 4:20pm and the man on the tills was very abrupt and rude. No manners at all and was making faces at me and my partner. Very unprofessional and should not be dealing with customers.

If the staff would stop having conversations with their friends while people are waiting to be served it would be a lot better. Pathetic customer service

Absolutely disgusting prices in all of their shops. Complete and utter rip off every time you go in. Milk eggs and some biscuits. A tenner. It's impossible to spend less than a tenner in these shops

How can Scotmid justify charging 1.25 for a packet of Club biscuits 1week then raising it to 2pds next week.Then dropping it again the following back to 1.25??????? Being sold in B@M 1pd.

I tried to get a refund as I was charged twice for membership due to new cards being issued. Staff don't know anything about the scheme and are difficult to communicate with. The store is limited for food choice and the cost is ridiculous.

Inverkeithing Scotmid. Over priced and robbing people who live in economically deprived areas. Scotmid relies on people who can’t drive the 15 mins to Tesco and Asda. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask when he robbed you. Greedy unethical capitalistic pigs basically! Taking full advantage of the cost of living crisis!

Nice food shame about the prices. Usually have a good range of reduced things if you go at the right time though

Shops Been getting close 10 to 15 min early ever night massive inconvenience to say the least especially when they are still In the store with lights off come on lol

This Scotmid at Oxgangs Road North is concerningly filthy and I couldn't work there unless those till service areas were scrubbed . The whole place is desperately in need of a scrub in nooks and crannies .
The shelves are partially bare with zero stock replaced .
The Baguettes are disgusting , loaded with margarine and not filled properly .
Is this shop even managed anymore ? Can you please clean the kitchen area at the front and the back ? Some of the staff are lovely .

Based on scotmid beside granton primary, regular customer, ided daily for red bull, woman admits she remembers that I’m off age but ids me anyway! Also never any hot food available?

As the only local shop in the immediate area it is too expensive to actually buy anything from. For example £9-75 for a jar of coffee that can be bought from a supermarket for £7-00. A rip off.

I needed minced beef, something that should be readily available. When I saw there wasn't any in the chilled cabinet I approached a staff member who was working in that dept to ask if there was any in the stock room and was told that there probably was but she wasn't willing to look for it!

Bought filled baguette for £3.50 hardly anything in it it was like eating plain cold baguette not worth the money

Scotmid Oxgangs, what can I say? When I die I will have probably spent half my life stood in the queue in this store. Only ever 1 till operator on at any time and 2 self service tills which are card only ( which incidently is illegal under equalities legislation).

Totally disinterested staff, same with manager. Poor customer service, complain and the staff will tell you haoe hard done by they are! If you don't like your job don't do it.

All this whilst trying to convey a sense of high class. The only thing high is their deluded pricing. Hate this shop.
