Having been told that Saga Travel insurance was specifically for older people I tried to insure with them.
Unfortunately my experience with them was not what i expected. I was asked to declare all my medications. Most of it was prescribed for me over 40 years ago. So I took out the insurance, paid £395.00 and proceeded to enquire from the doctors about my early medication. I was sent a 5 page document which had no mention of the reason for my prescribed medication at that time. So then speaking to Saga I told them I couldn’t find out after 40 years! So my insurance was cancelled and I lost £395.00 without any refund at all. I would not recommend Saga travel insurance. They didn’t try to help me and were cold and seemed very uncaring not caring.

Avoid at all costs ,i bought a new car 6 months into my policy ,i was told that it would have to be submitted to the underwriters for a quotation ..ok no problem until i am told that it will take 72 hours for a quotation !!! Are you kidding ? i can do an online quotation in minutes and get insured but saga expect you to be uninsured for 3 days while they decide wether they want you to continue as their customer !! And i was also told that if i cancelled the policy i would be liable for £50 admin fee .thank god i never had to make a claim with this joke of a company .

I have had building and contents and car insurance with Saga for many years. Now they refuse to give me buildings insurance on the basis I live in a flood risk area! According to the gov website I live in a low flood risk area. It would be impossible for my house to be flooded in it's location. I asked the underwriters to check but again they came back with flood risk postal code. No customer loyalty and flood risk assessment incorrect. Guess they just do not want my business anymore!

My mother had additional home emergency repair -terrible service. My elderly mother was left unable to live in her home due to blocked soil pipe and a flood. They couldn't provide anyone to sort out the problem within a reasonable time frame ( their words ) so suggested we got a local tradesman to deal with it. And make a claim afterwards. I provided all information required, and invoice payment details etc, and they have still not paid almost 3 months later.

Sagas definition of emergency is an appointment to repair my roof 8days after I made my claim in meantime all I can do is hope for dry weather

SHOCK This company doubled the cost of my HOME INSURANCE on my DD
I have BTL insurance I have tried many companies over the past 20 years and they may increase the cost a bit each yearif they can.. BUT Now I am going to have to phone up and ask WHY and can I have the extra money back despite my review Saga have not offered any further comment nor apology nothing .. Lazy about customer care
I did telephone Saga Insurance
and they told me no they just double the price on a roll over . and that they have their money
I see they have not answered on Trust Pilot

Has to be the worst home insurance I’ve ever used, they wouldn’t even let me add a claim because they are supposedly busy doing storm claims, this is no excuse I have just as much right as anyone else to make a claim. My wife had lost her Diamond necklace and obviously this ment a lot to her. She will be shocked when I tell her.
This will be the first and last time I insure with Saga. Extremely poor service actually lost for words. If they haven’t got enough staff then they should employ some more not call back in 10 day’s and hope we haven’t had another storm..

Make a claim it’s all sending messages and waiting ages for a reply and even then most of one’s concerns are notvconsidered . I have a 3 yr cover for my house , same for my car and my wife’s car . I have learnt my lesson , I will never ever use them again

Cancelled our car insurance, six months into the policy. The cancellation fee was £50.00 - extraordinary expensive. Our refund for six months insurance was just £6.77.

Check the terms and conditions before choosing saga. I won't be back.

Never touch saga insurance again. Shocking service just after your money. Try talking to the call centre, like talking g to a robot.

I obtained a quote from SAGA last friday afternoon 13 Dec 24 for a select plus policy and was quoted £407. After checking other companies I decided to proceed 36 hours later on the 15 December only to find the quote had expired ( according to the agent) and the cost was now £559 an increase of £150 plus in such a short time. I called and what a waste of time that was the price was the price and the only explanation was the "Quote has Expired". I have taken my business elsewhere and in my opinion Saga have or should be expired. If its this difficult to agree the cost imagine what it would be like to Claim - a right "Saga" no doubt - avoid like the plague. Only scored 1 star because not possible for Zero stars

Saga Home Emergency Cover I’ve held for some years. I have had call outs to my boiler recently and whilst the company carrying out the service have been excellent, Saga are woeful! Their communications are terrible and they are slow to react to complaints. If I could award minus stars, I would.

96% poor service. Not surprised. My mum called to report an issue with her boiler - waited all day for a call back which did not happen. Had to call again and was told she would have to wait 3 days for an engineer! My mum is 77, lives alone, has COPD, severe arthritis. She is at risk if cant keep warm. I am utterly disgusted. This is not an emergency service!

Cancelled a motor insurance due to car being sold. One telephone call - charged £70 being £40 cancellation fee and £30 administration fee. Total rip off.

09/24 Had favourable quote via two different Trawling site, but about £30 difference. Rang Saga to see if I could improve, online quote by maybe 10%. Agent could access one Trawl site quotes but then having gone through all the questions again, I laughed when she asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the more than double online quote. Non-UK Call centre which surprised me given Saga's core demographic. Very noisy and under-trained staffing. I can't imagine an elderly person needing to deal with such. I also can't imagine needing to make a claim or deal with any other CS requirement. On that basis I will not buy. Saga is well off its historic core values.

Too long call time on hold. Agents don’t listen to what is being said. Saga added another person’s claim to my policy, wrong name wrong address.

I wanted to cancel my policy and need to pay a small fee.I emailed explaining I don't possess a cheque book and I'm not prepared to wait fir 15 minutes to speak to someone in order to pay.Ive made it quite clear I'm happy to pay online but it seems this is not an option, in 2024 I'm unable to pay online???? Bizarre?? And my email to thus effect completely ignored.Never use Saga again for anything
