Convenience of picking up the rental and returning it four days later. Minimal paperwork and the vehicle was a good reliable car.

I found the Service from the staff to be the Best in this transaction. Micheal was very pleasant, friendly and explained each step of the way. The vehicle had a high mileage in terms of vehicles that I usually hire, however, it was extremely reliable and economical. It was full of scratches and interior was worn and smelt a bit stale [like someone had smoked in the vehicle]. I thought the price was excessive, but the location was convenient for me. It was great this company was able to provide us with a car at short notice. We had had an accident in our car which was pronounced undriveable by AA and we needed to get home to Napier.
We were very happy with the car til travelling home on the Napier- Taupo Road, as when it got dark and then started raining the windscreen wipers were not working properly as the blades needed replacing so we didnt have a clear windscreen. It was a dangerous drive and we had already been hit by a car previously.
We reported this when we returned the car.

I rented a minibus from this company whilst visiting Tauranga on a cruise. When I picked it up the rear bumper was hanging off, it was covered in paint chips and bumps and the rubber seal around the side door was hanging off. I pointed this out to the agent and he said he was aware of this. During the day I tried numerous times to contact the company about an issue on the regular phone line and emergency line. All calls were unanswered. On my return I queried this with the agent and he said they were too busy to answer the phone. I parked the van where told and handed over the keys. No one checked the van. On 4 February I was billed NZ$174.25 by Rite Price Rental via my credit card company. I tried numerous times to ring them without an answer and sent 3 emails asking what the charge was for. I had no response. I decided to do a charge back on my credit card. Initially this was successful. On 20 March, nearly 2 months later, Rite Price rentals responded to my credit card company disputing the refund. Rite Price Rental claimed I had agreed to 'additional charges' for TWO STONE CHIPS! They don't even say where these were. The minivan was covered in stone chips. I have a video I took at the time I started my rental which showed the dreadful condition of the van. Unfortunately, I am unable to post it here. My refund was reversed and I am NZ$174.25 out of pocket. Having travelled the world extensively I thought New Zealand would be a safe, friendly and trustworthy country, however, Rite Price Rentals showed otherwise.

Great service, very helpfull

Getting and dropping truck off was smooth and easy.
The tail lift was quite small and had a lip leading into the truck which made som of the larger items a bit tricky

The guys at Rite Price truck rentals were awesome. in my previous job i had to deal with the public all the time so i can say they did an impeccable job. I was a little early getting there so they let me take the furniture truck anyway & that was an enormous help. Service top notch can't complain. Definitely would use them again if need be.
