After trawling through a number of furniture stores we eventually went into R&J leather's Uddingston store.
We had a look around both floors of their large store, trying the various sofas on display.
After a while we were approached by Gwen, the store's customer service rep.

Gwen welcomed us and briefly explained a bit about what they have on offer, and left us to continue our search.

When we found what we thought was a style that suited us, we attracted Gwen over to assist us
with a few questions we had.

Gwen patiently answered our queries and showed us the various configurations available for our sofa - from static, to manual or powered recliner types. When selecting our sofa's colour she even went as far as showing us the colour swatch in outdoor lighting to let us see what the leather looks like in different lighting.

Gwen then put together a quote for our choice, including the sofa's dimensions for us to double check at home.

Next day we came back, but we had decided overnight to consider some upgrades. Gwen happily went over our options again, and thankfully she helped us finalise a sofa set that was perfect for us.

We came away with that feeling that we've made the right choice, and are looking forward to our reclining sofas arriving.

We would not hesitate to recommend R&J, it was a pleasurable shopping experience.

Scott and James delivered our new suite and uplifted the one which we had very kindly been loaned by the store at Uddingston where we also got excellent service . Scott and James were so professional and wouldn’t leave until we were entirely satisfied with the position of our two couches. They were cheery and friendly and an asset to your company. Please pass on our sincere thanks to the two most pleasant and conscientious delivery guys we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with.

Visited R&J Leather at Hamilton. At no point were there any pressure to buy, the sales lady left us to browse after a warm welcome but was very attentive when needed and answered every question we had in great depth and was so kind and patient with us. Lots of selection to chose from and now looking forward to receiving our new suite when the time comes. We had a lovely experience visiting the store, I will most definitely be recommending R&J Leather to family and friends!

R&J leather, where good with us, our older parents were let down with another company at the last minute, went to R&J store late on the Friday and spoke to Gwen and explained our situation, and due to Gwen's impeccable service and great compassion to our needs, we had a new reclining suite delivered on Tuesday morning for our parents , Gwen kept us updated constantly, and would not hesitate to recommend R&J, once again, thank you Gwen.

Suite arrived today as promised, however the chaps who delivered it had to tell us the footstool ordered was "missing " someone from the store should have been in touch with 😪, hopefully it arrives before Christmas

A WORD OF WARNING if you decide to purchase your new sofa from R&J LEATHER..., be prepared for what may arrive at your home in approximately 16 weeks from placing your order. It certainly won't be that beautiful sofa that you fell in love with in the showroom, it will probably be a very BAD, CHEAPLY made version of that item......, if you then decide that you are not very happy with your very bad, cheaply made sofa., I do wish you well when you find yourself dealing with the ARROGANT, BULLYING, AGGRESIVE, THUGS, at R&J Leather who will refuse point blank to either help or refund you... thier "7 day return and refund guarantee"  Does Not Exist......
I would understand completely if R&J LEATHER were now on a RANCH selling SADDLES., so Please, do yourself a big favour and stay well away from this company.
You dont have to pay a fortune for a bad, cheaply made sofa....., there are plenty of WELL RUN COMPANIES out there who will gladly sell one to you at a reasonable price.

Visited R&J Leather new Hamilton store and their Uddingston branch last week as I needed a suite before Xmas, didn’t think I had a hope in hell but Lorraine in Hamilton gave me so many options as they have lots of stock. Got suite delivered yesterday and I am so happy, the delivery staff were amazing too. Fantastic Scottish family run business and it shows, you are treated like family not just a customer, highly recommend 😀

Leather sofas were delivered on Thursday 20th October, both had faults, couldn’t contact RandJ Leather so had to visit Hamilton Store on the Sunday with Complaints, had been said on numerous occasions that this was a family company for over 50 years and we were assured this would be sorted out. The sofas were not as described and nothing like the sofas we seen and sat on in showroom, we were told that “puddling” was normal with the leather, even after a day, this word is used frequently by this company. They sent the guys that delivered sofas to come out and rectify, we were not happy to have paid a lot of money for brand new sofas to be repaired. The repairs they suggested were not acceptable on brand new sofas! The solution they proposed was to accept the repairs or take a full refund and the sofas uplifted the next day. Our only option was to take the full refund. The day before delivery we got rid of our original sofas as we couldn’t store them. We waited 18 weeks for these sofas, now we have no seating 9 weeks until Christmas with visitors coming from America, upset, disappointed, gutted and stressed is an understatement!

I travelled far to visit this store as I'd seen what I wanted online. Elaine could not have been more helpful and made the whole visit a pleasure. She was friendly and knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in the market for new furniture.

Had the pleasure of visiting the Uddingston branch of R&J leather. Went for a browse, ended up ordering a new suite. Elaine (hope that's right) was fantastic, even though I asked about different combinations she answered everything, telling me what I could get etc. She's a star, nothing was too much trouble for her. It was such a relaxed experience. If your looking for a new suite, chair or dining room furniture go have a chat, you won't be disappointed.

Well what can I say about the sales person I had to deal with during the 2 visits to the Uddingston store over a 3 day period is that the pleasure was all ours GWEN.
GWEN your attitude toward customer care was above and beyond what I and my wife expected and with your great product knowledge and advice we were very happy to select sofas from R&J and very much look forward to getting these in early August

Called Elaine at the Birkenshaw store after having a small problem with one of my sofas I purchased from R&J leather 4 years ago. Elaine was so lovely and has arranged for someone to come out within 10 days to sort my problem. First class service and wouldn’t hesitate to buy from here again. Thank you for your help.

Went to Birkenshaw shop, Elaine was lovely, very helpful and pleasant not pushy like some other stores, would highly recommend going to this store.

Waited five months for my suite to arrive despite being told it would only take eighteen weeks. On arrival the settee showed staples so I rang then and two guys came out but did not completely fix it then came back which left the fabric loose and would have eventually came away.

December I spoke to Lorraine who would get back to me. Weeks went by and I discovered the chair is squeezing and the padding on the back was not the same on both sides. After months of calls and email with photos of said padding.

They fixed the squeaking but still not the padding.
One woman told me the corners were elasticated but contradicted by another.

Eventually in was told by telephone they would send a crew to pick up the suite to fix the problems on April 28th then Susie rang to see the suite to at home to see if it could be fixed in my house so I agreed.

On arrival she tried fluffing up the cushion which obviously wouldn’t work and proceeded to say nothing was wrong with it and stormed out.

Now they are refusing to fix it and the only option for me is a full refund but need to decide within 24 hours.

I asked for the CEO contact which they said he only pays the staff not deal with customers.

I am so disappointed with the treatment by them. They said the suite would be fixed which they now categorically deny is faulty now even though the phots sent proved and they confirmed this at the time.

I am a person of pensionable age with Ill health and wish I’d not got rid of my old suite and would never visit this store again or recommend them.

Went to R and J leather in Uddingston today, just to look.Had been in before seen a suite I liked and looked about .Elaine the representative , you are a credit to this company.
You could see I was anxious about making such a commitment but we laughed over the " Buy cheap buy twice " way we were both brought up with but its true.
I didn't feel pressured at all even in this day and age You took time to tell me about the different leathers and gradings something your competitors up tye Road I'm Sterling didn't seem interested in when I advised on a budget !
Looking forward to my new suite when it arrives

Elaine couldn’t have been more helpful, her product knowledge is excellent and helped my Mum pick out exactly what she wanted.
The shop is laid out very well and even has a lift to the second floor for wheel chair users.
