Dear Mr. Little,
Your poor review is unjust, even by your own admission, ‘Purple marine can not be blamed for the failings of Royal Mail’.
It was also one of several options you could have chosen while ordering.

You have left a two star review for my company, staff, service and the product you received and merely because the company who deliver it, which is wholly separate from the one you are reviewing (which still delivers far more accurately than any other courier and is chosen by millions ever day nationwide), missed your mark on their service. This seems very unfair.
At the very least you could give equal merit to each stage of the process.

You say that, ‘one has to question Purple’s choice of such a poor service provider for their deliveries.’ … but this was an option you chose while purchasing, over the slightly more expensive, Tracked and Courier options.
However, if you would like to question the choice of Royal Mail as our method of post for small packages by all means do. I will happily talk to you about the reasons for the choice, the lack of options with such small packages and all of the courier services with far lower records that have given us no end of issues over the years, if you would actually like to question the choice as you say.
The opinion you share in your statement: that Royal Mail is a poor provider, is one that a great many people do not share especially over and above even far more expensive courier options. There are very few who could even handle the small packages and letters in any case and the remaining are very expensive relative to the size of the package so I cannot imagine you would have opted for those had they been a choice.
We have a great deal of experience with their service and that of so many others in our many years in business and while non are without incidents or failures the choice to go with the highest success rate is not only for the business and the time for my staff but also for the benefit of all of our customers.

So my request is not that you simply change it to a better star rating but that you review the business i.e. the buying experience, the staff, the service and the product as the invitation to review is intended, as opposed to bearing it heavily on a separate service that you chose which is beyond our control.
