Our house move took over a year, thanks to 2 sets of committed buyers withdrawing for personal reasons. We chose Preston Baker at Oakwood, Leeds because of the single point of contact Gemma Duxbury, who formed a WhatsApp group with us. She was warm, supportive and approachable throughout especially when having to deliver 'bad news', which she always did via a phone call. We had little contact therefore with the office, but Gemma was always responsive when needed. Each of the three times that our house went on market, Gemma and the office had plenty of viewers lined up and we sold quite quickly on each occasion.

There were a couple of times during the process when we felt that little progress was being made and we had to be proactive ourselves, forming a relationship with our vendors and our buyers. However, the fact that we are finally in our last 'forever home' is largely due to Gemma holding our hands on our tortuous journey. We would recommend Preston Baker and, particularly, Gemma.

We had a fantastic experience with Preston Baker from start to finish. After initially speaking with Rachel Lansdell, we were really impressed by how accommodating and flexible she was. She went out of her way to fit us into the viewing schedule around several other appointments we already had, which made the whole process so much easier.
At the viewing itself, we were greeted by Gemma Duxbury, whose positive energy was genuinely infectious. She was incredibly knowledgeable about both the property and the local area, and she took the time to address our concerns about the location - particularly whether it might feel too far from a high street or local amenities. They DO NOT respect privacy laws. Once they have your details they will contact and hound you daily with calls, emails, text messages, even WHATSAPP!

They do not remove you from their lists.

Gemma Duxbury recently sold our Mums house. She found us a buyer quickly, and was always available to answer any questions that we had. We had various delays with the sale and Gemma kept us informed as things evolved. It was a difficult situation for us as our mother is very ill and we were selling on her behalf, and Gemma was very sensitive to this. She was polite, diligent and professional throughout the whole process.

Our agent was amazing, photos were great and the sale was relatively quick. When we were passed on to the after sales team there were lots of problems.

1 - Pushing wrong dates into the chain for completion without consulting the CONVEYANCERS first. This caused a homeowner to remove his tenant too early and his house stood empty for 3 months.
2 - Tried to get us to PAY the buyer at the bottom of the chain’s rent because they moved out of their rented property too quickly because they thought the sale was going to happen really quickly. See point 1.
3 - Didn’t really care about the move or the people involved in the chain. All they wanted was the thousands of pounds in fees when the move completed. This became apparent at Christmas when there was an attempt to make the move happen before the new year (to recognise the revenue).

Once our agent left - under suspicious circumstances - with no communication from Preston Baker to us, the whole thing just fell apart. Our home move never completed. After 2 years of selling and collapsing chains, we gave up.

We had a very positive experience with Preston Baker during our purchase in Leeds.

Shawn was responsive, professional and proactive throughout the process. Viewings were arranged quickly and flexibly, and communication was always clear and straightforward.

The transaction itself progressed smoothly from the agency side, and the handover of the property was handled efficiently. We particularly appreciated the reliability and willingness to assist when timings were tight.

From the minute we viewed the property with Rachel, she has been informative and knowledgeable. Angela is the safest pair of hands you could put your sale into. She’s professional, friendly, insightful and really knows her onions. We had to accelerate our sale as we found our onward purchase sooner than expected. Angel was nothing but supportive, and turned the most unremarkable viewing into an asking price over. We sold our house via Preston Baker which we found to be a great experience. Jess handled the sale- she was brilliant throughout- she understood the house and the area we lived in, organised a launch day where we had loads of viewings and secured us several offers. The buyer we ended up choosing has been great and it has been smooth sailing from there. Julie at Preston Baker would give us weekly updates and really put my mind at rest regarding time frames (sorry for the stressed phone calls Julie!). Great service and would highly recommend.

After a mammoth 12 month wrestling match with solicitors and the Land Registry (woe is me) we eventually made our sale and managed to move. Nerves were frayed and anger raised, but Gemma Duxbury was fantastic throughout, doing all she could to shake up incompetent conveyancing and LR lethargy to get our sale across the line. We both have the bruises from banging our heads against the wall. Ever grateful for all of her help and support through that torrid process.

Gemma Carter did a brilliant job of selling our house from start to finish. When out first buyer dropped out halfway through the process Gemma contacted the other parties who had made offers and had resold it within 24hrs. Then towards the end of the process when the chain was creaking under the strain and looking like collapsing she went above and beyond to make sure we made it through to completion.

I first contacted Preston Baker to come out and view my property in November 2024 for a valuation. After some pondering I finally decided in 2025 the time was right to move on.
I contacted Jayne Tomlinson, who did my valuation and her hard work/communication made the dreaded stressful house move everyone talks about, an absolute breeze.
The fees were extremely fair and good value.
Any questions from my buyers solicitors weren't sat on, I was kept in regular communication which made the whole sale process go quicker than expected.
Jayne has truly been fantastic, my property was advertised and had sold in less than a month, she was always available if I had any questions, and was also really personable, which added to whole process making it exciting and again such an easy experience.
I really can't thank her enough.

Gemma Duxbury has been an integral part of my sales process, even when things have not gone the way we wanted she has been nothing but professional in executing all decisions and even working while on her holidays to keep me updated and informed.
