Just ordered.

Just ordered. Well, I haven't gotten my system yet, but the guy I talked to on the phone about my pre-order was fantastic, helpful and very patient. If the comes in as I had ordered, I think Portatech would have to be the best value for PCs on the net.

This our 4th computer from portatech

This our 4th computer from portatech. We have been very happy with all of them. The engineers all fight over who gets the new systems and they have over how fast they are. We are spending approx 1/4 of what we used to for the technical worstations and they are much better.We have been very happy with the service and support

Don't expect it on time and don't expect what you actually ordered

Well firstly it was late.. not a good start. Bigger problem though, It might look like their barebones systems have many choices, but they offer options that are incompatible. I chose a case / mobo combination that didn't work - but instead of calling me and discussing it they just switched out to a case that doesn't work for me. They sent me out another alternative case, that I also don't like that so looks like I'll end up buying ANOTHER one.. and then of course becoming a PC builder and the whole point was to avoid that. Arrived with one of the two front USB ports not working. Support was prompt but didn't offer me any option that satisfied me.

DOA Power Supply in a so-called 'tested' system

The system arrived with a dead power supply.
So much for 'testing' and 'burning in'.
When I contacted them through email they told me to call.
When I called at 3:00 PM Pacific Daylight time, their 'tech support' was closed.
At this point I'm done with PortaTech and am about to call my credit union and put the credit card charges in dispute.
Oh, you will have to eat the return shipping charges with these charlatans when they sell you broken garbage, so buyer beware.

Nice set up

Nice set up! Super easy process, especially if you do a little research prior. I built a custom tailored machine strictly for music production and I can’t wait for it to arrive :D
