It's a sign of the times, now owned by Germans, Peet's Customer Service has gone to hell. After my order was delayed for weeks I cancelled it. I reordered online (horrible website) and bought a pound at a nearby store. Next they delivered BOTH orders. Calling or online Customer Service sends you to India. It was awful, they would not take back the cancelled order, even though their website confirmed the cancellation. They did take back an order mishap years ago but no longer. Now after 40 years I'm no longer a customer.

Great coffee, poor subscription fulfillment (slow)
Great coffee, but mediocre subscription service.
Major Dickasen Decaf is by far the best decaf around.
But I'm disappointed in the really slow shipping for online orders. I have a regular subscription, and the website offers a button "SEND NOW" in case I'm running out. But "now" is 1-2 weeks later. It's not just shipping, which is unaccountably slow, but internal processing because it can be several days after pressing "SEND NOW" until I get an email saying "We're processing your order...".
I suppose I'm comparing Peets with Amazon where orders are processed the same day and next-day delivery is common, and 2nd or 3rd day almost always.
Just saying... it makes me want to cancel my subscription and go buy beans in person at a nearby (not Peet's) shop.

Below is my original review and while I have enjoyed Peet’s for quite some time, we have cancelled our subscription based on their staunch support of Republicans (the company’s donations, not individuals). This has not been a problem for us in the past, but now that party has devolved into an anti-democratic, anti-science, anti-truth party that promotes and glorifies in violence and chaos, we have to draw the line. Everyone has the right to believe in what they want (at least for now) and I did not delete the review below because I hope we can return to a time when we can agree to disagree on policy and all agree on democracy, fairness and freedom for all.
We have been getting Peet’s delivered for over 20 years. I fell in love with the Garuda blend when I lived in San Francisco in the 90s and they are a part of my every morning. My subscription experiences have been great. I have lived in several cities since SF and the delivery has always been great.

I referred a friend, reward was supposed to be $22 credit plus free shipping. Item sold out, Peets cancels order and reward. Customer service 24 hours reply, email and then another 24 hours, no answer. Online Customer Service no better than automaton plus contact 24 hours if then.
I love this coffee..
I love this coffee... that being said, I'd love it even more IF THEY'D SEND THE STUFF by something other than mule train. The delivery is very inconsistent. I shop on line most of the time for groceries, so having to go to the store to buy coffee because my shipment apparently went to Mongolia or somewhere is very annoying. Then they responded and told me they were replacing the "missing" order at no charge. That's great, except the replacement order has apparently gone the way of the first. What the heck, you guys??? JUST SEND ME MY COFFEE!!

Had horrible experience at PEET'S COFFEE Emarcadero location, store # 1097. I come here severa days a week at 5am, their posted hour for openning. Today I walked several blocks in the freezing cold to be told by manager April she's decided to open an hour late, 6am. I had come too far to return home and then come back, so myself and a crowd of customers were stuck outside for an hour in the dark and cold.
I asked Store Manager April if we could at least wait inside and/or get some drip coffee. She bluntly said "no" with complete indifference to our discomfort.
After an hour shivering in dark outside April finally unlocked the door an hour late. She didn't apologize, offer to make good on hardship her poor management skills caused, but was completely indifferent if not flippent toward customers' concerns, and became angry and rude when customers complained about innapropriate treatment.
PEET'S COFFEE seriously needs to do a better job wih their management development. Been coming to this location 10 years before COVID. Pay $7 a pop for a coffee beverage each visit. I expect better treatment. April's a liability to PEET'S CORP, at least as a manager. She seems not to understand the responsability toward customersa manager bears.
Italian Roast Blend ranks as one of my Favorites
I have seen the other reviews but I tend to let experience dictate my opinion. I gave this company a rating on my personal experience. I am that kind of a person. I respect until that respect is lost. Well I can say that my online and buying experience with this company has earned my experience. Peet’s does not have an outlet in my area so I base my experience on my online transaction only. I give Peet’s a 5-star rating based on my experience as a online buyer. From the sign-up registration to purchasing and delivery updates, oh yea and the aroma and taste I love it! The aroma of the Italian Roast Blend lingering in the air to the flavor of a freshly brewed batch of steaming deliciousness. Oh Yea! Taste so Great! Ihave tried many other brands of the same blend but I still rank Peet’s blend of the Italian Roast as one of my top rated blends.
Online store needs an overhaul
I love their coffee but have had endless issues with their subscription shipping service. Every month my shipment is delayed and once it’s shipped, takes 10 days or more to arrive. I think they’re using a camel to deliver its so slow. My coffee has also gotten lost more than once. Such a terrible online service for a big company. It’s like they don’t have coffee to ship or they don’t know how to fulfill online orders. Unreal and have been dealing w it for years. Their prices also increase every few months so now a 16oz ground is $20. It was $16 2 years ago. Customer service is kind but never know what’s going on. Gonna look for a new coffee soon

So I buy varieties of 4. Now they make me have to order 3x4=12.

I don’t write reviews but I will here. I’m sorry to have had enough horrible experiences with Peets online that I have to stop ordering from them. They could have had a really good cash flow from me and I could have had more of those delicious special blends. Oh well
Dark roast House blend
Dark roast House blend. Probably some of the worst coffee I have ever tasted. So overrated. Taste was chalky, almost sweet with an undertone of chocolate.
Very funky. Back to some other dependable coffees.
