I have had a 4 bike rack for years and needed to convert a goose neck towball to take it. Fitted well but don't underestimate the torque required to grip the ball.

Not had a good experience with the 4 bike rack - wouldn’t recommend
Bought a 4 bike rack, one of the welds in the outmost upright failed after maybe 10 uses but pendle replaced straight away. Bolts that have been tightened to required level keep coming loose. One has now gone. Rack has a clear bend in middle. You can’t put a mountain bike on the inmost rack on a van as it smashes into the back of the van so it isn’t a 4 mountain bike rack on a van. Oh and rack is really heavy but that was made clear.
On the plus side, no need for bike ‘Jenga’ bikes go on easily.

Hi there - we're so sorry to read your review, which clearly has been posted from a position of frustration. It is a shame you have posted this before we were able to complete our email correspondence, but we do welcome all feedback!
For the benefit of other readers, here is the PBR reply to this issue:
1) The vertical support we replaced FOC did not suffer a weld fail but rather a material failure potentially caused by misuse or excessive bouncing.
2) Nyloc nuts cannot be stripped without serious misuse. Again, potential excessive bouncing.
3) The potential issue with flat-backed vehicles is clearly described on the W4 product page. This would be no different with any other product on the market.
4) Our mounting poles would not bend unless the rack has been subjected to excessive forces. These can be created by rough terrain, or using the rack on vehicles with a large rear overhang. Again, this is clearly described on the product page.
5) Solid steel products naturally weigh more than aluminium/plastic variants, but are generally safer. This is a core PBR design philosophy.

I was really stuck for a spare part for my towbar bike rack! Pendle were excellent at responding to my request. The part arrived the next day which was brilliant as I was off to Holland the day after. Five star service, five-star delivery and brilliant customer care thank you very much Pendle.
