Disappointing experience – refund terms and customer support concerns...

No policies were ever issued—I just got scammed

I purchased a gadget protection plan and later decided to cancel it (due to no response from ORA Policy) within the permitted cancellation period(10 days)

According to the company’s own Terms & Conditions, the protection can be cancelled within 10 days without providing a reason, and the refund is supposed to be issued within 3 working days.

However, when I contacted their WhatsApp support to request the cancellation and refund, I was told that customers have to wait 90 days because the refund is a lengthy process. This is completely inconsistent with the written Terms & Conditions provided at the time of purchase.

I asked why I should wait 90 days when the policy clearly states that the refund will be issued within 3 working days, but I did not receive a satisfactory explanation.

Unfortunately, my experience with customer support was also very disappointing. I found the communication to be rude, dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. Rather than addressing the refund issue and explaining the contractual basis for the 90-day timeline, the support interaction repeatedly gave the impression that customers should simply approach the police or the courts if they were unhappy.

As a customer, I expect a company to address legitimate concerns professionally and transparently rather than making customers feel that they have to resort to legal action just to enforce the company’s own stated terms.

I am sharing my experience for the awareness of other customers. Please carefully read the cancellation and refund terms before purchasing this protection plan and keep copies of all relevant documents and communications.

One thing is certain: ORA Policy is defrauding some customers. They may have a few cases to show that they process claims, have been in business for many years, or even have a presence on Amazon—but that doesn’t change the reality of what some customers are experiencing. To me, it feels like a complete scam. If you don’t trust my words, experience it yourself.

Anyway, I have lodged a complaint with National Consumer Helpline and Cyber crime...investigation will reach them soon...possibly freeze their Gadget Policy UPI and bank account.

I dropped my Samsung galaxy S26 ultra yesterday and they fixed my inner screen, hinge and main screen from samsung authorised service centre near my area, quick claim process.

Did not receive the policy for a week, and when received after multiple requests, it states i will have to pay 50% out of pocket, and any gst/vat will also be unpaid making it around 70% out of pocket expense. also, the repair from high end repair is costly, making it effectively zero benefit policy. had i known it earlier, would not have taken it in first place. and i took 3 years plan too.

Today I received my brand new Samsung Z flip 7, from ora policy, which I never expected. My son suggested me this company for mobile insurance plan for my expensive smartphone. Its the second claim that I have received within 3 days, which I never expected, damage claim was easy but this time my mobile lost and thought I should forget.

I am using ora policy services since 6yrs for my mac book and iphone they are highly experienced and very swift with customer support and claims definitely try their services for your gadgets

I brought insurance of my OLED TV 2 years ago from ORA Policy for 3 years tenure which I forgot, last week all of a sudden the display went black and was showing only 2 pink lines, I checked with LG support center, and they gave me estimate of Rs. 127000, which was so much shocking. My husband remained me the protection plan from Ora policy. I called their customer care and within few hours the same LG guy came and replaced my whole panel without any single penny. Saved my huge amount of 127000. Thanks 🙏 to Ora policy.

A year ago I bought a "1 year protection plan" for my smartphone and due to having no claims i've got my refund on time and after experiencing the best customer service I'm planning to buy more.

Poor customer service. They did not have any record of my refund. They only told me that they have refunded but were not ready to share the proof of refund

We deal in renting laptops, desktops and servers to corporates. So, we are insuring our products from ORA Policy from past 8 years. We took several claims during this long tenure and never ever faced any problem. Whenever we purchase any device, without any doubt we first took ora protection plan. It is a peace of mind. Earlier we have very bad experiences with other companies and used to switch one company to another. Finally we found ora. So, I will suggest to go for it.

My experience was wonderful with Ora Policy. I got my theft claim of Samsung galaxy z fold ultra, within 4 days. Superfast claim process. I will strongly recommend this company.

My experience with ORA policy was excellent, I don't write reviews and feedbacks, but my recent experience with this company was so great that made me give this review. I brought an expensive SONY OLED TV last year and my wife suggested me to take TV insurance from ora policy as were shifting from noida to gurgaon after few months, so to get the coverage and fear of any damage i took online insurance from this company. However, our shifting was quite smooth, so didnt require and we were living our normal day today life, few days earlier on 31st eve one of my nephew accidentally broke my TV screen. It got shattered badly, I asked sony for screen replacement, it was costing same as new TV. My wife remind me that we have coverage from ORA Policy, and I immediately called ORA Policy Customer Care, they guys took the request and after few days, I received a brand new OLED SONY TV from amazon. It was so impressive, I strongly suggest this comapany.

Excellent Experience With ORA Policy Company. I lost my bag having laptop Mobile and other documents, while boarding train from Mumbai to Hyderabad.
It was a nightmare and catheprostic night, as I was running here and there and finally I gave up. Then, my elder brother told me that my macbook and iPhone was insured through ora policy.
Honestly, I thought its Just another headache, but when I called their customer support, they guided me well and assigned a claim manager. Mr.Harsh Dutta, he was so gentle and humble person, and within couple of days I got a new MacBook pro and iPhone 14 pro max, at my Hyderabad address.
It was so amazing experience. I also wanted to say that ora policy is the best company I ever saw in Indian market. Thanks harsh ji and the whole ora team.

Very bad experience!! Please dont buy this fool type of policy! They will never call recieve! My phone was repaired by self ! Then i send it bill to ora team ! They say it took 60-90 days for claim settlement! And there website written quick settlement!!! Fool fool!
