Don’t pretend this is an Omdudsman

Absolutely horrible and a huge waste of the U.K. taxpayer’s money, time and hope for justice. The ‘caseworker’ Mr. Ashraf called me to just say ‘I will dismiss your case’, he misinformed me that he does not need to put his decision and rationale in writing and he lied that there is no complaint procedure for his behaviour. And of course they do not record the calls to citizens so there is no evidence of their behaviour. Eventually -after I Insisted- he sent an email just repeating what the service I complained about (London employment tribunal) had wrote to me, repeating again the lie that I don’t have the option to escalate the issue (contrary to what his colleague told me over the phone). I sent an email to the Ombudsman to complaint and it was ignored for months. I came across a job advert for caseworkers for the service and all they ask for is experience in ‘customer service’ and they pay around 20k per year. So you can imagine that if a loved one of yours dies due to a serious medical mistake, the ‘caseworker’ who will deal with your complaint may only have two years experience of customer service for a company selling lipstick. Is this our welfare state? Completely speechless….

CORRUPT!

CORRUPT!! Totally corrupt to the core. Not independent. Clearly Biased in the NHS & GPs favours. This has already been proven by the fact it hit the papers a certain gynaecologist still works for the NHS despite unnecessarily removing 2 women's reproductive organs & sexually assaulting over a 100 women. Amd admitting to 20.

Here in my case I was maliciously bullied by a new GP. He repeatedly told me to shut up & brought me to tears in first ever face to face visit. Then a few months later when I phoned the surgery to cancel a appointment due to being poorly after 13minutes the receptionist put this doctor on the phone who accused me of being drunk & on drugs despite he knew I did not drunk due to medication I was actually unable & hadn't in year. He hung up on me phoned 999 ambulance lied to them saying I was drunk, drugged up & had took a intentional overdose of paracetamol!! My phone records my calls so when ambulance arrived I placed it for them and they were shocked & said I should complain & that they could tell just from talking to me I wasn't under the influence. I went with them though to do bloodtests so I could prove his lies. That's when I found out by a nurse in hospital I had supposedly took a IOD of paracetamol. Of course my bloods proved all untrue. I did however have sepsis. After complaining to the surgery and NHS I was thrown on to a special allocation programme ( for naughty patients) which i demanded to be delisted from & would just use my private health carer instead. I did not find out for 18months why I jad bern put on it, until when the NHS complaints came back with their decision (which was full of lies & gaslighting so didn't even read the rest,) that that same gp lied & claimed I'd threatened to slash his face with a knife. I had provided all calls to the NHS & ombudsman but the NHS said the opposite of everything in the calls to gaslight me. The ombudsman have sided with the dr that he is in the right to libel against me & give False
& incorrect medical information to 999 which could've cost me my life through being incorrectly treated if I had been unconcious when they came. They've gone on about the lie he made I threatened to slash his face despite I gave them all calls which show it never happened & he has provided NOTHING, bo evidence at all! They also ignored video evidence to my first appointment with this GP. I switched on my camera after the GP repeatedly told me to " Shut up" & bully me with " I don't think you're going to work our here " & snarkly tell me because I was on diazepam " We don't do benzos here " & when pointed out it was controlling my mental health & shown my slit wrists and arms, I was tutted & eye rolled at & told " we've got plenty of cutters here" causing me to break down in tears he brought a member of staff in to play " independent witness" which we know they're anything but. He then changes his tone to bucey nicey telling me to feel free to speak up for myself. Then the second I try to mention something he snaps & talks over me. Of course him and his witness the ombudsman say have said I repeatedly was shouting amd talking over him . They've took their statement as truth and totally ignore my actually video which shows I can barely even speak through crying let alone SHOUT.
Absolutely corrupt organisation. I have provided tonnes of Audios hospital notes & video footage. The GP surgery NONE & Yet they have found in his favour. After what I went through I developed agrophobia & have I can't even say its irrational at this point " fear of doctors"..
The ombudsman is clearly biased. I had already spoken in groups and told the ombudsman are corrupt & apparently a certain politicians wife is head of it and its legal interests over the NHS. Sick of it the UK is a hell hole of corruption & always has bern. The fact we're at a point where even video amd audio evidence is ignored & media don't want to know or say its a none story shows how 4kd this country is.
I pray to God that if not in this lifetime all these crooks in these positions police, medics, ss, etc do not recieve their karma in this life then its will be served in the next.
For now we need to petition to get the Ombudsman closed down. Just another waste of Tax payers money working against us . Matthew beswick was the case handler for my ombudsman case its clear he immideately just shut it down & had no intentions of going through my evidence. He also never sent me his decision. Clearly a tactical move so I couldn't give feedback I was asked for & replied I've not had a outcome yet. To which I got no reply until jist now months later & I can't leave feedback. So now he's sent it. Mentioning nothing of my evidence. They're not interested and paid off. I had to wait over 2years for this decision to complaint.
I know for a fact, the same GP that treated me this way has done it others leading to 1 girl dying if brain tumor. I was told by NHSworker

I can understand why people don’t…

I can understand why people don’t complain or give up, the process is : heartbreaking, exhausting and expensive,my caseworker was kind, but at the end of it all , despite much criticism of the service I complained about, it was not upheld, there is no appeal or review process, that’s it,if you have any energy left for justice, you have to go to a no win no fee service, however , with the not upheld from PHSO, it reduces chance of success to below their threshold, so sad.
I wish I had read reviews, very few complaints are upheld.

Dry eye leading to corneal inflammation and ulceration

I had to go to the BEH to get steroid eye drops after the RUH ophthalmologist kicked me out of my eye outpatient appointment.
The PHSO wrote in my own verifiable facts as hearsay while the hospital's verbal account was stated as fact.
They had their clinician pick and twist wording on one line from 2 pages of symptoms that I took to my appointment to use against me.
The PHSO said the hospital reopening my complaint during the local complaint process wasn't a premature closure, ignored legislation I cited which is cited in other published reports, referenced hospital complaint policy dated a year after my appointment, ignored GMC guidance and had to follow up twice to get the report after a year of waiting.
Their review was the RUH hadn't done anything wrong. Waste of time and public money.

Oh and just so search engines pick up on it, the RUH chief exec Cara Charles-Barks cancelled my mediation meeting without providing a reason. Thanks Cara!

Unfortunately the only way to get anyone to listen maybe, is to collect hard evidence and go public, my experience is don't wait for the inevitable to happen and think that they will feel sorry or empathise with you, the sad reality of it is there job is to do nothing. These organisations are protected by steel bars you are not supposed to get through. Unfortunately I lost 2 parents a year apart with the most hurendous care given to them, the same rehabilitation care home were my mother was sent to rehabilitate has once again been shut down because its inadequate, all that will happen is it will just be opened again with same staff but new management things wont change but they have to look like they are doing something if enough people complain etc. I am now going through another NHS organisation for another health matter, but, like my past experience nothing will get done and the only doorway that you are sent to is parliamentary health ombudsman. Another dead end. So hopefully my past experience will make me a bit better prepared this time around. Dont give up these are our loved ones.

When my family of nurses decided we…

When my family of nurses decided we needed to complain about the ombudsman service we had requested to investigate the hospital trust we were all trained by, we considered that all of the fifty-plus issues we raised would be investigated. Ironically, not a single issue we raised was accepted or investigated. the PHSO blanket response was that no investigations were needed. You might imagine how bitterly angry myself and my family are especially considering the main character in this tragedy was a nurse of 40 years herself and trained at the same hospital. Cover-ups with blatant lies flowed relentlessly from the ombudsman's worthless service. Even after our final response asking if they had actually read our very honest and detailed explanation of events. We got no professional response. Until our dying days my family will relentlessly pursue exposure of a worthless and dispicable PHSO

They will not investigate unless you have died!

The caseworker rejected my case but did not bother to send an email or a letter to say they were not going to look at my case. When I chased for a response the caseworker was very cold and said my complaint was closed due to their demand management process. There was no empathy, no concern, no interest in my case, and certainly no desire to investigate the very serious issues I had raised. All I got was a brief message to say as no-one had died or was unable to live a normal life, they were not concerned. This is completely wrong. If the ombudsman’s office limit themselves and refuse to look at any other problems and complaints within the NHS, these will never be corrected and they could end up with more and more death related complaints.

On the ombudsman’s website it says on page after page that they will help. This is very misleading as they will not. Where then can people go who have been badly wronged by the NHS?

Raising my complaint with them was a total waste of time and effort.

Another utterly useless government quango

Along with the ICO this is just another useless government quango draining public money without serving any useful purpose. Their little gravy train club will shortly be coming to an end though as my MP is launching a parliamentary enquiry into why they are allowed to take public money without actually doing anything.

UCLH vascular department botched Operation

UCLH vascular department botched my operation. They then refused to give me a Doppler scan to see what was the problem. Instead the consultant - having botched the first operation said she would perform another without even examining me or seeing a scan (as if she is psychic). A scan would of course have revealed the operation was botched. Precisely why they don't want any evidence. What is the PAHSO going to do? Who knows, there's a 7 month waiting list. How many more patients have to suffer in the interim?

My pancreatic cancer was ignored (not missed) for 5 years. It was reported on by a radiologist on the first scan I had but consultants ignored her advice to investigate. Repeated scans showed the tumour. I was bullied and abused for being in pain. I suffered all the symptoms of pancreatic cancer but these too were ignored. When the truth and evidence re above emerged I was told that if I told anyone from the RSCH again. I told the PHSO who said none of the above was a problem and they did not consider ignoring cancer or a patient being bullied as a failing. Don’t go to them is my advice.

They are clearly only set up to protect the organisations they are supposed to oversee.
Bearing in mind they can only secure an apology, it is worrying that they won't even do that!
Had 3 complaints with them and all 3 they did nothing. All they good at is prolonging the complaint to get their money. This oraganisation needs to be put down. If this place remains open it enables other organisations to keep causing harm and not dping their duty of care.

I dont kniw how staff working at this place sleeps at nite. They be on phone with u telling u good news and letter arrives indifferent to what they said. They really font care until its them or their own family

PHSO does not care and will protect the NHS

My 75-year-old father was admitted to Southend Hospital with a suspected stroke, a frightening experience for him. Unfortunately, his time at the hospital turned into a nightmare. He was given three doses of lorazepam in less than 100 minutes while in A&E, followed by 19 days of continuous administration of the drug. This raised concerns as to whether this was the appropriate first-line treatment for a stroke patient, especially without prior testing. To make matters worse, his medical records were tampered with.

In addition to the inappropriate medication, my father was physically assaulted by an unqualified healthcare assistant over two days. The assault was witnessed by another staff member who reported the incident, leading to the assistant's dismissal. Despite lacking basic health and safety knowledge and assaulting my father, the assistant was allowed to continue working with vulnerable individuals. As a result of the assault, my father was left covered in bruises, and very frightened which was disregarded by the hospital staff.

The neglectful treatment continued as my father was denied proper nutrition and hydration, resulting in a significant weight loss. The staff's disrespectful and derogatory behavior towards him only added to his distress. Even after falling out of bed, he was only assisted back into bed without addressing the underlying issues like the large bump on his head

Furthermore, my father was repeatedly misdiagnosed, with one doctor even informing my mother that my father was dying, causing her immense emotional distress. The hospital's attempts to cover up the abuse and violence my father endured during his stay were evident.

Seeking assistance from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) has unfortunately proven to be a frustrating experience. The assigned case worker has been unresponsive and dismissive of the information provided. Despite my efforts to communicate effectively, she has ignored emails and even went as far as to tell me not to hold my breath for a resolution. Additionally, the emails she sends are encrypted, making it impossible for me to access the information. I have repeatedly requested normal emails, but my requests have been ignored.

It is evident that the PHSO does not prioritize patient complaints regarding the NHS, leading to a sense of disillusionment among paitents and their families seeking justice. It appears that the organization may lean towards protecting the interests of the NHS and hospitals, rather than addressing the concerns of patients. This has resulted in a waste of time for me, and I believe there are many others who have faced similar challenges.

It is disheartening to witness an organization tasked with upholding accountability and fairness fall short of meeting the expectations of those seeking assistance.
with holding the NHS accountable fail to do so. The lack of accountability at hospitals like Southend highlights we have a very serious problem within the NHS and this need to be investigated.

Why I am unhappy with the service level…

Why I am unhappy with the service level ( please note I was not challenging the decision).

My aim was to assist the PHSO service level when I note they hold a 98% one star rating on Trust Piolet.

I made an online complaint about a GP.

After a period of time, I was contacted by what I consider a very unhelpful person who was more interested in stopping my complaint going forward and questioning me in a way that made me feel like I was a nuisance. I felt demoralised and not listened too. The lady was abrupt and I would say rude.

Due to my skills when I was employed, I was able to set out my case and to the obvious annoyance of the advisor I was told that the case would be put forward.

I felt I was in a battle to be listened too.

I was asked to provide significant amounts of information which I provided to the PHSO. Replies received were confusing and lacking in clarity so I needed to keep asking for clarification.

I was then questioned at length about the reason for my complaint and I became totally confused by the tatics employed to prevent an investigation. The matter was escalated to the Operations Manager who explained I did not meet the criteria for investigation which I accepted.

I was told that only serious cases are taken forward , I was made to feel that a mental health issue was marginalised over a physical failing with a hip operation quoted to me.

I was told the way the PHSO worked was changes and funds didn't allow my case as important.

When I questioned the service level I was told that I had no right of redress and I was sent information that made me feel worthless and that I was being vexatious or unreasonable and that my email would not be responded too. I was refused the name of the person who was responsible for the Operation Manager’s conclusions on the basis that The Operation Manager’s say was final unless I took court action.

Please note I was concerned about service level and Equality Act issues and not the compliant decision.

I explained that my concerns were not because my complaint had not been taken forward or accepted and more the standard of service and the way the matter had been dealt with.

In my opinion the Operations Manager seemed annoyed because I was able to articulate my concerns in a professional manner and so instead of working with me to address the service standard (not the complaint rejection) then all avenues of trying to make matters better were blocked by using a policy to deter abusive or users that were being unreasonable.

I would rate this service and staff useless. If you complain they will tell you your unreasonable and the Operations Manager is final - no right to question their judgement.

I explained the Equality Act appeared to have been breached and the reasoning to the Operations Manager who sent a standard text letter that I was acting in an unacceptable way and failed to give the name or address of the person I could contact about the service level.

In my opinion the messages received from the Operations Manager were designed to prevent me from trying to take matters , quite reasonably to a higher level on the basis I was being insistent and not accepting the decision made.

The Operations Manager appeared only interested in protecting their own position by refusing any avenues to comment on the service level.

All communications were defensive and in so many words stated that if I was unhappy then I would need to take legal action which clearly the Operations Manger knew would not be an option.

I was also threatened with the abusive policy guidance which was clearly being used out of context to prevent me from complaining about the Operations Manager service standard ( I was not appealing the decision of my case it should be noted) .

In my opinion the Operations Manager should not prevent service level concerns being made and should provide the details of an independent
person that I could contact i.e. a customer service engagement executive.

The process I have endured has resulted in a negative feedback on Trust piolet and damaged the reputation of the valuable role PHSO should be playing in the improvement of Public bodies for which we all pay tax.

I requested an apology from a "quack" doctor who said my physical condition was all in my mind. I provided proof, but the PHSO says it's acceptable for an unqualified "quack" to make a judgement and diagnosis about something they had no experience or qualifications in.
What, then, is the purpose of the PHSO? It can only be to shield from criticism.
In other words, a total waste of time and public money.
I suggest scrapping the PHSO and saving money.

Government sponsored quango covers-up NHS serious maladministration

As a Government controlled quango the PHSO is supporting NHS negligent deaths despite calls for reform and intelligent scrutiny for many years. It has an atiquted ticbox system which has never been scrutinised for appropriate purpose while still holding it up as an 'exemplar' system. Traumatised complainants are mentally assulted and punished just for beinging compaints to phso notice. Workers there from lowest customer services to top management appear to be fixated on promoting themselves and their 'miwssion' whilst working with defendant's lies. There's not a scrap of understanding of complinant trauma and appear to relish causing further distress on top of that inflicted by (e.g.) NHS deceit, maladministration, and injuries caused. I asked them to investigate the mental harm, ostracisation and subsequent death of my son. After years of appeals, phso obstructive dismissals and my personal fact-finding, all to no avail, the PHSO chief's parting comments were that to investigate specific PHSO actions and harmful slanders by BSMHFT, were "beyond my expectations" for them to investigate. /r Neither my NHS case nor PHSO complaints of serious mental harm to me, were never resolved. /n I was left to survivive on permanent nhs medication having to seek private counselling for traumatic PHSO medacities, gaslighting, predisposition and bias, and blatant collusion with the amply-resourced defendants like BSMHFT.

Absolutely disgusting. You allow vile abuse to continue

Absolutely disgusting deplorable way to not do anything about the vile abuse I have had by surgery managers and corrupt doctors. Just because I had no idea about time limits. You have just allowed the most disturbing hateful behavior to go on. It's always the same when it's got anything to do with government. My life is in danger because you did NOTHING. I have no access to healthcare whatsoever. I hope that you are happy allowing the most horrendous abuse to continue. It leaves me to feel that there's only one way of recourse.I am not being abused anymore. You disgust me. I have no hope. When you tell a doctor, twice that you are very worried about throat cancer and the doctors do nothing, what am I meant to do? Truly pissed off with your time limits. Why should it be that I can't get any healthcare, why should I have to put up with nasty abuse?, And it's just because of your time constraints. A blanket rule like this means that you are letting so much terrible treatment to go unpunished. There are cases like mine where time limits should be set aside. I am experiencing acute pains in my chest, I told the doctor only to be ignored yet again. And I am 80% sure that I have throat cancer but I have no chance, I am already dead, it's too late for me to have any chance to survive, and you did NOTHING. I doubt that I will ever get diagnosed with cancer because I will never get referred to a cancer doctor. This is just because of your time limits. So freaking wrong.
