I lost all electric this morning

I lost all electric this morning, reported via the website and they rang straight away, I spoke to a lovely helpful gentleman, within 1 hour 30 mins a lovely young man came and found the issue straight away and got me connected, absolutely fantastic service from everyone involved, can’t thank them enough!

disgraceful

They deserve no stars, 3 powercuts within last 2 weeks 11 powercuts over the last 3 years, customer service is a joke, no compensation just cheek from a manager over the telephone, I dont know how they gate away with it.....but we have no choice do we ?

Shrouding of wires

I had a roof inspection at my request and was informed I needed a new roof. With electrical wires leading to our roof I had to contact powergrid as these wires would need shrouding before any work could be carried out, I thought this was going to be a long and lengthy complex task however to my surprise it turned out to be quick and easy, I got straight through on the phone to a very pleasant lady called Julie who talked me through everything slowly and concisely, she orchestrated a company to come and do the job on the 18th September I only phoned on 11th September so if everything goes accordingly I will be well impressed

If we could give zero stars we would.
Seven power cuts in four months alone. Old overhead network, in pour condition that keeps failing. (needs putting underground) but this would effect NPG's profits. The later being NPG's priority.

Friendly and professional …

We lost power in our house Monday evening around 7.30, all neighbours had power so we assumed it was a problem within our property. After checking everything we first called Eon who didn't answer Monday night or even send an electrician to look until Tuesday afternoon. It was identified the problem was actually an underground cable. Northern powergrid came out asap, dug up the garden, diagnosed the issue and fixed it all through the night. They were lovely, friendly and professional and even boiled me and my dad a kettle. Big thank you to Dave and his team.

NPG to the Rescue

After three weeks of trying to persuade Utility Warehouse to help us reinstate the 3 phase supply to our unit, I called Northern Powergrid.
What a transformation!

The NPG customer support guy was sympathetic, efficient and knowledgable. He arranged for an engineer to visit site within three hours of my call

The engineer called to let me know he was 20 minutes away - arrived on time and fixed the fault within 30 minutes. I can't thank them enough

had my garden dug up and path right…

had my garden dug up and path right outside my front door made an absalout mess mud all over lost half my gravel due to the digging and tore up all my weed membrane patched up the tarmac path now looks a right state said clancey would sort this out but never did now i have weeds growing all over due to them wrecked my garden and ripped my weed membrane up still waiting for repairs

Excellent at doing nothing

Northern Powergrid is a privatised utility company who excel at telling their customers what they can't do for them (read their website). I and 93 other customers have experienced 7 power cuts in 8 days without a resolution. They just replace the substation fuse and do no investigation of the fault. This situation is ongoing and may never be resolved. As usual the Regulator Ofgem are not interested in taking the side of the customer. A 3rd world company with a 3rd world Regulator for a 3rd world Britain.

We had no power due to a power cut

We had no power due to a power cut, when it got resolved it still wasn’t on in our house. We rang the lovely staff on the phone lines, they were excellent and very helpful they got an engineer right away. All is fixed now, had a lovely experience.

Utterly incompetent.

Paid for a new house connection 2.5 years ago and still waiting, started the complaints procedure and will be taking legal action.

Absulutely excellent

Absulutely excellent , after waiting six hours with no electricity from my energy company I rang NP who came in no time at all fixed my promblem straight away cannot praise them enough

Absolutely excellent

Absolutely excellent. I was literally on my way out of the door this morning to work, but noticed my power had gone, it was all o.k earlier because I'd made a drink etc. I logged a power cut online, within 5 minutes I had a phone call, she asked me to do a few checks, then she sent an engineer out. He was here easily within the hour to assess the problem, he diagnosed it was the feed underground to my house only, he put an order in for a team to come, within about one hour from this there was three vans, four guys and a digger outside, they dug up the road - basically closed it off, then put a new joint in - the old one had blown up - I saw and smelt it. From start to finish all fixed in approximately seven hours, friendly guys even though it's a Monday morning and rainy, can't ask for any better to be honest.

Superb Customer Service and Communication

Unexpected power cut yesterday... Easily logged outage online. Promptly received email telling me an engineer would attend shortly. Before that happened, the power came back on. Telephoned Northern Powergrid as I didn't want to waste engineer's time attending my property and call was answered STRAIGHT AWAY! Received text update today explaining the number of properties affected and the reason for the outage. Absolutely faultless customer service in an age when most firms don't answer phones and want you to live chat with a useless robot. Well done Northern Powergrid, very impressed!

What a shambles

On both 25 May 2023 and today 19 June 2023 we were told our power would be off from 09:00 until 16:00 for planned maintenance, but this both were subsequently cancelled.
On both occasions we received a letter, numerous emails and texts in the weeks before reminding us, we even got a text on the day saying they were on site, but subsequently received another stating that the maintenance had been cancelled.
I imagine this means that there well be yet another date organised.
What an utter waste of time and money, is it any wonder that electricity standing charges are so high.
This is another company that needs to learn and apply the 6 “P’s” rule.

EVC install

I was trying to get an EV charger fitted at my property and I was getting lots of mixed messages from different charge suppliers but the outcome was I condo have an EV charger until Norther Grid has unlooped my supply.

The first person I spoke to did get somebody out within a week but that did take a fair bit of pushing on mysid. She was unwilling to explain anything and was just been vague. I felt she was doing this on purpose.

The guys came out, nothig bad to say about them other than it was a pointless visit. All they did was confirm what I had told Northern grid in the 1st place but this is probably more down to the last I had spoken to.

I called up after the visit got a nice lad who unfortunately was contradicting what I had been told but instead of getting all funny with me like the previous lady he went to double check with somebody else. Turns out he was wrong but he explained I needed a different department and gave me their number. I called and they were unwilling to help. Felt I was just going round in circles. The lad I had previously spoken to had also given me an email as well as a number so I emailed in.

My email was picked up by a lady who called me several times and spent time explaining the different options and processes. Without her I would have been very cross and unhappy with Northern Power Grid but she was fantastic

First class service.

First class service.
We had to call the emergency help line last nigh. Our first point of contact was a very helpful advisor who answered our call quickly and delt with very efficiently. She told us someone would be with us within 3 hours. 45 mins later the engineer arrived.
Unfortunately he was unable to rectify the issue and arrange for another team to come to our property, and would be with the next hours. 30 minutes we get a call to say they are 20 mins away.
2 engineers arrived and resolved the issue.
From our first call to the issue being rectified was all under 3 hours.
Fast and efficient service

Absolute Farce

Absolute Farce. Great people with curtesy and manners but shocking procedures. When confronted about debacle of trying to get work carried out, the response was "yes, that's what people usually complain about"
Bounced around the houses on who is responsible for what procedure and in the end I gave up!
