First time buying seeds from Nicky's Nursery and it won't be my last! They have a terrific range, I've bought some heritage variety tomatoes and okra which I'm looking forward to trying. Great service from ordering to delivery.

Sent 2 messages to 2 different email addresses, l have no reply so l would suggest that these people are no longer operating, many seed sellers online in the UK and the quality of their seeds is not good outside the UK, rather like Chinese seeds in Europe that do not do well. Shop bought seeds is the best solution.

Average seeds, not many vegetable seeds germinate, which makes them very overpriced. One out of ten cucumber seeds germinated. Horrible customer service!!!

Thank you for your review and providing us with some information so we were able to look into this matter for you.
After reviewing the information you provided we were able to see that we had been in communication with yourself back in May 2020 after you had sown the seeds that you purchased in March 2020, and reached out in regards to poor germination of cucumber seeds however, you did not mention at this point any issues with any of the other vegetable seeds. We responded to explain that sowing in a room that you keep heated simply would not be enough heat to allow for the germination process to take place and advised these be moved to a heated propagator where you can heat them at the correct temperature stated on our packets which was 21-24 degrees Celsius at a constant temperature. You shortly replied to which you stated you would give the heated propagator a try.
From your review we can see that you still did not have much success with the cucumber Louisa seeds that only 1 out of the 5 germinated (we only sell Cucumber Louisa as a packet of 5 seeds). As you did not reach out again we had assumed that the heated propagator had worked and you was able to salvage the germination. Had you of reached out we would of sent you a replacement packet or had refunded you for this packet of seeds. If you would like to discuss this matter with us further please email us.

Failed germination + poor customer service
First time ordering from Nicky’s nursery, I was pleased with the stock they had (I ordered 12 packs) my order took 11 days to arrive. HOWEVER I got in touch about some seeds that did not germinate (Black Krim) and was shocked at the lack of customer service, I found them to be quite rude. I received an email which solely wrote “will put seed on test and let you know results as this is new stock“
I have asked for a refund but I have yet to receive my money back. I’ve only planted 4 packs of the 12 so do not know how the other seeds will preform but with other competitors who provide much better customer service I would suggest you avoid buying from these guys. Disappointing!

We are sorry that you had an issue with the customer service team, however a refund was given on the 23rd of February after communication with yourself via email when you requested a refund on the 21st February. There was delay in this refund being processed due to accounts only working part time due to COVID-19.

So impressed with germination so far. Started off 8 packets of seeds from a variety of vendors earlier this week. The only ones germinating after 2 days were those from Nickys - so surprised so quick! (Lemon grass and broad beans). Seeds were delivered pronptly after ordering and well packaged and sealed in foil which no doubt were contributing to the amazing germination. Really looking forward to seeing how the remaining seeds will fare later in the year

Good variety of seeds
I bought all my vegetable seeds from Nicky's Nursery. The seeds were dispatched quickly with an email sent to confirm.
The brief sowing instructions on the packets were helpful, it would be better if the labels were waterproof as some faded after getting wet.
The germination rate was over 90% across the range of beetroot, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, courgettes, and tomatoes. All grew well and true to type.
Have now placed an order for next years crop.

I found this website whilst surfing for blight resistant tomatoes
I found this website whilst surfing for blight resistant tomatoes. I ordered three or four packets of different varieties. There was a very poor germination rate, only about 50%, which is much lower than the usual 90%+.
It is now almost the end of the season and all of the plants have succumbed to blight. I have been growing blight resistant tomatoes sourced elsewhere for the last four years, and the worst I have experienced is a little blacking on a leaf or two here or there. The plants grown from Nicky's Nursery seeds have not quite died, but there is little difference between the tomatoes I used to grow, such as Gardener's Delight and Marmande. There is some small improvement hence two stars but that is all. Plants I have grown in previous years from blight resistant seeds bought elsewhere have produced masses and masses of clean, disease free fruit. Will be sticking to them from now on.
I also bought pepper seeds. Similar difficulty with germination, although they have gone on to produce fruit, but again, less than seeds sourced elsewhere.
So will be reverting to previous suppliers. Better value for money and better seeds. It is very bitter to spend half a year or more nurturing your tomatoes only to see the fruit rotting on the plant, especially where the seeds have been bought at a premium.

I’m sorry to hear you had trouble with all the seeds that you purchased. All our peppers and tomatoes are very big sellers for us with excellent germination rates.
Could we ask that you get in touch with us by email with either your order number, name and postcode or reply to the order email you would have received. If you could also include the conditions that you germinated and grew the plants in this will enable us to delve further into this matter of why you had little success. Could you also let us know if the tomatoes started to go black on the bottom before rotting.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear that what you grew from the seeds was not Kochia in this instance. We have not had any other complaints from customers that have purchased the same seed to suggest that there are any problems with the batch, however we are investigating the matter. As mentioned we have not had any other complaints and do not stock horse weed seeds, however these seeds can be dispersed via the wind and may have contaminated your garden via this method.
I can see that we have refunded you for the product as a gesture of goodwill and hope that we see your custom again in the future.

Fabulous.. seeds are great value for money conpared to other conpanies and once i purchased i recieved excellent email communications and the seeds arrived fast ( even faster than my other order from a well known brand). This will be my new seed company from now on...recommended!

I received my order and one of the seed…
I received my order and one of the seed packets was empty, while others clearly had less than others (all the same seeds by the way). I emailed this company about this and the response was "did you count them? clearly a sarcastic remark given they were thyme seeds and tiny. How rude and what a shocking customer service. I responded how can you count seeds when there are none in the packet. No response or apology. I am shocked! I buy a lot of garden equipment, plants, seeds etc and I will not be coming here again. Beware, clearly they take no responsibility for the items they sell and if you question them, they just respond with rude and unhelpful comments.

I would like to send an honest opinion
I would like to send an honest opinion, i bought £25 worth of a calibrachoa seed, (million bells type seed} a year before sowing so i would have them in stock for early sowing the following year....after sowing.....i got nothing, i v'e been growing for over 35 yrs, i would consider myself fairly experienced at growing.......upon emailing the site, i received no answer,....i will not use this site any more as i have lost faith in you....

The seeds in question were new stock in January and February of 2019 as the Calibrachoa was a new line in our catalogue for the start of 2019 You order was dated 19.03.19 and sent out to you on 24.03.19 - 14 months ago.
Seed was fresh stock for your order and was not out of date, germination was at 100%. Unfortunately we are unable to replace or offer refund as it has been 14 months since you placed your order and we do not know how the seeds were stored etc.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry to see that you are unhappy with our service.
Upon the time of your order, at every page on our website a note with our 15 working days (Monday to Friday) was visible, and again at the order and shipping pages. Having ordered on the 12th of April which was over the Bank Holiday, the 15 working days takes us to despatching your order Monday 4th May.
Unfortunately, like many we have had to reduce the number of staff on shift to keep them safe and abide by social distancing measures, which is why we have implemented the 15 working day turnaround. This also means that emails are taking longer to respond to, so that we can ship orders quicker. However, we are trying to get back to people within 2 working days where possible, and in the case of your emails that were all sent within a 24 hour period, it has been less than 2 working days.
Again, apologies that our service has not been up to your standards, however we have operated within all of our guidelines with regards to your order.

Really great service! I ordered SO many packets, just as Coronavirus hit and, despite being inundated with orders, they worked flat out to honour them all and were up front and transparent about the slight delay. Beautifully packaged and germinating already.

This is the first (and last) occasion I…
This is the first (and last) occasion I shall be using Nicky's Nursery.
The germination rate on the Cherokee Purple Tomatoes was very poor indeed (2/20).
I contacted NN with my concerns and requested a replacement packet as I was keen to give the variety a go. After a brief e mail response I have heard nothing since.
I have sown 5 other varieties from differing Seed Merchants with no issues.
One new customer that will go elsewhere.

I've been purchasing my hot…
I've been purchasing my hot peppers/chillies from Nickys Nursery for a few years, recently started purchasing vegetable seeds too. The quality of the seeds, packaging, delivery along with the communication is worth every penny. I've never had problems with seed germination. I recommended them to family and friends due to the overall service.

Not sowed the seeds yet
Not sowed the seeds yet, but very impressed with the order process. Seeds arrived very promptly. One or two were out of stock and we were offered substitution or refund. We asked for a substitute which, it turned out was more expensive. There was no extra cost and we were then notified that the original seeds were back in stock and these were supplied to us. Excellent communication and very happy with the service.
