Nhs app doesn't work just like there services. Pointless firm. Glad I dont work and pay my taxes toward such a rubbish service

The NHS App online is about as much use as a chocolate teapot! I'd like to give it a minus number of stars. The process of registering is not easy and the functionality is very limited when you have registered. It has a nasty habit of sending you into a loop and not allowing you to return to earlier pages, every now and then it decides to log you out. The information contained in the various sections is limited and and not always useful. (e.g. it shows that my prescriptions were first issued in 2026, despite them being first issued in 2016 and it will tell you that you need to take action when action has already been taken This is another loop that keeps reappearing ). If you are on a waiting list it will tell you the average waiting time but not when you were put on the list. The Help & Support section is only of use if you have a problem with using the app, not if you have an actual problem with the content or functionality. In my case, its not fit for purpose. I would advise that you don't waste time trying to complain as that process is not only frustating, its virtually impossible. Probably better to avoid this app in all its forms if you want to keep your stress levels low.

Really poor and clunky. If you don’t have a mobile phone it says you can use another number ticking the box to get a code on a non-mobile phone. Doesn’t work. Then I get asked for my NHS number. Who the h*ll knows their NHS number off the top of their head. If I could give a score of minus 1 it would be too good. Security gone mad. Why would anyone want to break into MY records and order a new prescription for ME. MFA is NOT necessary. Rubbish NHS IT at work again.

Only echoing what everyone else says here about the NHS app. Mines is more to do with there dreadful IT/ customer services. For no apparent reason the NHS app decided that I was outside the catchment area of my Gp practice after around 11 years of being registered there. According to my GP this is an error. This has now had the added effected of the app now insisting that I need to re-register with a new surgery. Should be an easy process but seemingly not. Contact NHS app support who are useless and just tell you that your fault has been resolved when it hasn’t . Still can’t ordered repeat prescriptions, view blood results etc. When it’s actually useable the NhS app is great. But when it goes wrong, that’s it, forget it, there’s no help.

Its not a very helpfull comment but the nhs app is hopeless.

My husband has an email referring him to his NHS account. His account has not been activated. I have filled in a form for him. However my account has been activated and I cannot get into it. We share the same email address. In addition there is MyChart which GPs cannot access. So my husband cannot yet see if he has an appointment and I will never know if I have one or not.
The app does not recognise me.

useless app constantly having to use codes to login, and if I dont want to share my personal information it won't let me sign in so I won't use anymore nhs useless

App only good for ordering repeat prescriptions. They connacted me through the app to book a flu jab appointment. Selected time slot and surgery.Said appointment booked. Went on app to remind me when it was (time). It was not in appoints only shows appointments after I have had them. Never got a text reminder so guess it was never booked so never went. We use it for repeats as that appears to work. But will ignore the rest.

This app is putting lives at risk, it is absolutely terrible. We've ordered a repeat prescription for life saving medication and turned up at the chemist to pick it up. We were told that no request for repeat prescription had been submitted (which it most definately was, a week ago!!!) and now my partner has to go without his prescription for at least a week as it has to be processed again. Is that even legal in the medical world? to leave someone without life saving medication due to the disorganisational chaos of their app? When he doesn't have his medication he literally cannot breathe. It didn't seem to worry the pharmacist. This is also NOT the first time this has happened - the app is not only utterly useless and a waste of tax payer money, but it is dangerous and putting patient lives at risk. Shameful.

I can't use the app because i don't have photo I D and i will not be bullied by the government. I have no intention of wasting money on a passport or driving license that i will never use and the national identity card is impossible to get without a professional persons signature that i can't get. There is no way to get round this and the 'help' people just say there's nothing they can do about it and it's my problem not theirs. It's just discrimination.

I do not normally write reviews. This app is so appalling that I make an exception. How on earth is taxpayer money being allowed to be spent on such badly written software. Write to your MP to complain. Ask how much it has cost so far. How much more will it cost to fix. This app is just not fit for its purpose.

Absolutely useless everytime tried to login didn't want to know even put in my password e.g 😡 some people have problems. Absolutely nothing to do with any staff at doctors or hospital staff thank you for them trying to help

Can't use it...a hopeless waste of time and money.

Because one item on my repeat prescription was out of stock I have been unable to get it since. The app just takes you round in circles. Can't make an appointment or send a message to the surgery. It is just appalling.

Absolutely useless app trying to log in with correct details is enough to make you ill going around in circles with pass key then one time codes then it locks you out . Complain and they ask for a screen shot . Plus more info They are getting paid to manage the app not me just make it work

Horrible app

Waste of space. Such a long winded registration process and constantly declines photos of passport despite being perfectly legible. Use a human instead of some stupid AI
Waste of taxpayers money as usual

This is a joint review for the NHS app and MyCare app (which I cannot find separately on Trustpilot). Both are disappointing for different reasons. With the NHS app I keep coming up against a brick wall, mainly because nearly every feature just says that my GP surgery does not use this option. It is useful for linking to a pharmacy for getting repeat prescriptions. When I get an alert for a message I can go straight to it, trying to find the same message later is almost impossible.

For the MyCare app through UCLH, they add all of your test results without any context and you cannot get hold of anyone to discuss your next steps. I feel that this is quite irresponsible, as many people will just research their results online and find the worst case scenario. Even just a dropdown menu that has options like: 'check up in 6 months' or 'being referred to another department' etc. that could be used by the person clearing the test for adding to the app would be helpful. Being left in the dark is stressful and I wish that I had never accessed the MyCare app.

These are ongoing issues - not just for the date we have to add for the review.
