⚠️ MY EXPERIENCE WITH NATIONS TRUST BANK…
⚠️ MY EXPERIENCE WITH NATIONS TRUST BANK — THINK TWICE BEFORE TRUSTING THIS BANK
I have been a Nations Trust Bank customer, but after this experience, I have completely lost confidence in this bank and I no longer want to continue with my account.
For almost ONE MONTH, I have been unable to access my Nations Direct Mobile Banking App.
Every time I try to log in, I receive this message:
“Multiple device login attempts have been detected on your Nations Direct Mobile App.”
The app then instructs me to contact 011 471 1411 to activate the feature or report an unauthorized login attempt.
The problem?
There is NO other device logged into my account. Nobody else is using my account.
I followed the instructions and tried contacting the bank approximately 22 TIMES.
And what happened?
I was repeatedly sent through an automated telephone system instead of getting a proper solution to a basic banking problem.
After all those attempts, I ended up with approximately Rs. 35,000 in telephone charges trying to contact my own bank for help.
Rs. 35,000.
Think about that.
Almost one month without access to my mobile banking, around 22 attempts to contact the bank, numerous emails to customer service, and emails to my Aluthgama branch — and I still could not get this simple problem resolved.
I live outside Sri Lanka, so I cannot simply walk into a branch to deal with this.
At this point, I don’t even want to continue using this bank.
What shocks me most is how difficult it has been to get basic customer support when something goes wrong.
A bank can advertise modern digital banking, mobile apps and 24/7 customer service. But the real test of a bank is what happens when the customer has a problem.
My experience has been:
❌ Almost one month without mobile banking access
❌ Repeated failed attempts to get assistance
❌ Approximately 22 calls
❌ Approximately Rs. 35,000 in telephone charges
❌ Multiple emails with no satisfactory response
❌ No effective resolution
This is my personal experience as a customer, and I am sharing it publicly so that people can make their own decision before choosing Nations Trust Bank.
If a bank cannot provide basic support when a customer is locked out of their own digital banking, what exactly are customers supposed to do when a serious banking emergency happens?
I am extremely disappointed with Nations Trust Bank.
This is not the level of customer service I expect from a bank.
