This place is an absolute joke. I booked my van in for a service and MOT weeks in advance through the online system. When I arrived, I was told they could do the MOT but not the service because the van “won’t fit.” Funny how the exact same van was serviced there the previous year with no issues. Makes me question whether they even did the service last time.

The staff came across as completely uninterested and unhelpful — definitely not up to Halfords’ supposed standards. I would strongly advise others to stay clear

Complete and utter waste of time at Halfords/National Tyres in Wallasey.
Had my car booked in at 10:00 for a simple job of 2 tyres to be fitted.
Upon arrival I made my way to reception, to be greeted by a member of staff who after giving my vehicle registration told me they were really busy and I had to leave my car for at least 2 hours.
I said that was no good as I had work shortly and I booked in purposely at 10am as that was the time that suited me most.
Next an extremely rude female member of staff in the background interrupted my conversation and said something along the lines of ‘if you had read your email properly it does say you need to leave the car for 2 hours’ at this point I felt completely let down by this garage and asked to cancel the order as I could not leave my car for such a long period of time.
Usually there is short wait in a waiting room while the work is done.
Having purchased tyres many times over the years not once have I been asked to leave the car for such a long period of time whilst at the same time having a booking at a certain time, very strange indeed.
I have since raised an official complaint with Halfords head office and if contacted I will suggest they teach their staff on general customer service skills as this lot in Wallasey sadly lack any.
Absolutely would not waste my time with this garage again.

Very quick & simple to use. Only knocked a star off as the confirmation stated 'Your PREFERRED date is...'. Only available slots should be offered to select from.

Website simple to navigate and took me straight to the tyre size and manufacturer options for my car. A discount always helps!

Booked online. Arrived at garage 10 mins early as instructed. Got told no chance and that to ignore the website. Great advice afterwards!! Maybe try using the phone to inform customers that there would be long delays before they arrive. Another wasted day off work. Took my money quick enough though, no delays there. Thanks National. Another lost customer.

I have already commented on how good the service was on the booking site. It was easy to use ,had what I wanted and efficient to pay . Booking the date was straight forward especially as I didn't want one till
March . Lets see how the actual service and MOT goes !

Paid in full for fitted tyres using national tyres website. Selected the wallasey branch which is now a halfords service garage and booked a time of 9am. Arrived ahead of time, went to desk and the guys at the garage said I would have to leave my car there all day and they will contact me. 'For 2 tyres'. I told them about my slot that I booked and as the email stated was expecting the fitting within 1 hour. They said they are booked up with services all day so cant give me a time and that the website over books them all the time and that the slot I booked was just a drop off time... it did not state select a drop off time...'for 2 tyres'. I needed my car most of the day so was unable to leave my car all that time. I requested a refund and was told wait up to 7 working days for monies back in my account. Not a good experience and can only put it down to national tyres website not knowing how Halfords work...
