National’s (really, Halfords’, now) prices are competitive and the staff at Kendal are friendly, helpful and capable (as long as you don’t have a hybrid car!) BUT, the place is a shambles. The last two times I’ve been (in the last few weeks), I could barely find anywhere to park. There are cars on the pavement, everywhere. And, on entry into the actual building, you have to work your way through the workshop to get to reception. I found myself squeezing past cars being worked on and around equipment. God knows what happens if (when?) a customer is injured! Most recently, I joined the ‘receptionist’ behind his counter as the ‘customer side’s out of action. Truly, this National Tyres is unsuitable for its use and it needs to move somewhere more suitable.
On my last visit (an MoT retest for brake efficiency), I arrived in good time for my 1010 appointment. Having heard nothing, I went back at 1100 to find that the job had not been done and, after my return they wanted another 30 minutes. Who knows when it would have been done, had I not gone back. Like my car, I won’t be returning.

Made a booking by phone. Answered promptly and was booked in for MOT test the next day. Very friendly and helpful manner. Arrived for the test early but it was not an issue and the MOT test was started promptly. I was impressed with all aspects of the service provided and I was phoned once the test had been completed.

Was on holiday in Kendal and took my car in as I thought the tracking was out. Picked my car up and was told it had been sorted. Drove back down the M6 only for the dashboard to light up like a Xmas tree with all sorts of tracking warnings. Took it to my local garage when back home in Nottingham and was told the tracking was out! Make of that what you will but seems pretty obvious to me what has happend. Not the first time I've had a bad experience at a Halfords autorepair garage. Needless to say I will never take my car to one of their garages again

One of the worst experiences with a company in my whole life.
Still waiting for my £433 refund. I was told 5 working days and it’s nearly been FOUR WEEKS! Numerous phone calls, to get the same outcome - “I have passed your request on to the relevant team”. Somebody isn’t going their job…. At this rate it’ll be a small claims court job.

Never ever ever use this company. Find a local company instead or even Kwik fit are better than this joke of a company.

Not to mention the hostility and rudeness I experienced from one of the staff members.

Also on a separate occasion I bought some new Bridgestone potenzas R19’s for my car. After buying a new pair from a different company several months later, I have now realised that national tyres never actually fitted brand new tyres. They were worn and had been used. I could tell this from the missing white mark from the tread.

Lost alloy centre caps,which they didn't tell me about, initially didn't balance the wheels correctly and they are still not balanced after 3 tries. They made my car undrivable at 65mph. Alignment is wrong, outside of my £170 tyres each are already showing wear, 3 months each. Avoid at all cost.

Once again let down at kendal branch.booked to replace 2 tyres well in advance,arrived early told to come back in a hour,car not even looked at,why do you lie to customers faces,happens every time at this branch.As I am a taxi driver this costs me money,can't afford there incompetence any more.hi thanks for replying order no is w7677230,this is not the first time this has happened at this branch,no explanation as to why work not carried out,as stated I will not be using your company again.

All I can say is these guys are absolutely AMAZING, we had the most awful day that day, travelling from Dundee, Scotland for a wee break to Blackpool. My daughters car got a puncture on route on the motorway. Long story short we were taken to National Tyres by the AA guy and I'm so glad we were taken there. So we thought change the tyre and that would be it, but no, it turned out the Alloy was also buckled and the new tyre continued to loose pressure. These guys could have just left us to it and said they couldn't do anything for us, but no they went over and above and sealed the replacement tyre so we could continue to Blackpool and get back home safely. One of the guys was even going to give us a loan of his alloys if they could not get tyre sealed. These guys Felix, Scot, Steve and Alex are most definitely 1 of a kind! There was another guy but don't have his name. My daughter even got a phonecall on the following Monday to make sure we got home safely. Absolute GEMS and National Tyres must be so proud to have them as employees!

I had an emergency tyre replacement at the Kendal location. 5-Star service, great prices and the kindness staff imaginable. That other tyre place (“Q/F”) could learn a few things from National @ Kendal. Thanks guys!

Booked a puncture repair online at Kendal branch in for 8.30 as an allocated job which was a complete mess from start to finish, hadn’t even looked at tyre almost 3 hours later. Certain staff were rude but at least manager tried his best to sort situation but I won’t be back.

Online booking system booked multiple bookings for one time slot. This put your staff under unnecessary pressure. You need to look at this as is an unacceptable customer experience to see how a digital booking system affects the overstretched staff.

Nice range of options to either have a MoT, a service or combine both. Very easy to follow the instructions and book a date and time to please oneself. would recommend to friends. Being local the staff are helpfull and friendly.

Big choice of tyres, plenty of discounts available, have used before.
