National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

The tyre guarantee that they give is false, fraud and a scam.
They sold me a tyre, it had a very visible defect. I returned. They said the procedure is that they sell you a new tyre. Send your faulted tyre back to the manufacturer. They inspect it.
Now this is where it gets fraudulent.
They state if the manufacturer finds it faulted (big if) they will refund for the amount of tread that is left on the tyre.
As per what is written on their website.
Ashington dim wit manager actually agreed with me that the tyre was faulted but he had to send it back as per procedure.
He took the tyre off me.
I waited months after months after months. I called them. Their excuse is, we don't get to know the outcome! The manufacturer contacts you! Nothing to do with us!!!.
So after 2 years of putting up with this utter bull I go to the branch. Same dim wit manager. Yes he remembers me.
I'd like a refund? Nope I can't.
I'd like a replacement tyre then?
Nope I can't do that.
I'd like my original tyre back, my property that I payed for?
That tyre will be dust and shredded now!
OK. So will you contact the manufacturer?
Nope I can't!
So, they have actually stolen my property. They took the tyre off me that I payed for. And I'm left with fresh air.
Now, after speaking to someone in the know of the trade.
He tells me they actually go through with all of the above. The manufacturer refunds the branch and guess what? The manager and staff take the cash out of the till and share it as their unofficial bonus. Apparently its well known in the trade.
If you want my advice. Get quotes from elsewhere. Local garages etc. These are the people who care and will look after you and not Rob you like these lot.
2 years and counting. I'm not finished yet. I will never give up till I get a refund.

Just went in to the Ashington branch to be greeted by someone who was the most unhelpful person ever. Not only that, he refused to look up from his food whilst talking and on the odd occasion he did glance up, he had food on his face. Not the kind of professional welcome you’d hope for.

I dropped the car off without any trouble and i got a call and text an hour later to say it was ready. No problems and the staff were polite. Also the fact that you can get tyres on a pay monthly service while all other prices are shooting up is also helpful.

‘Alex’ at the Ashington branch was fantastic and sorted my car out today given a first class service and works ! I’ll be back in November for my MOT and any other works needed then! Thanks Alex for a caring and top quality work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
