Highly recommended company, fantastic knowledge and service

Highly recommended company with excellent customer service.

Before placing my order, I had quite a lengthy telephone conversation with a member of the team regarding the lighting requirements for a project I was working on. The advice I received was knowledgeable, honest and extremely helpful, helping me understand the differences between the various products and ensuring I ordered the correct items.

The ordering process was straightforward, prices were competitive, and the products arrived within a couple of days of ordering. Everything was well packaged and exactly as described.

In a world where good customer service can sometimes be hard to find, My Green Lighting really stood out. Their combination of expert advice, prompt delivery and professional service made the whole experience a pleasure.

I would definitely use them again and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Avoid!!

Avoid!!! I thought i had found a really good lighting company, all seemed well ,choice,easy to order and delivery time of 3 days. I'm an OAP and housebound(wheelcchair). The shadesxarrived in THE biggest of boxes ( difficult getting down my hall). On opening shades did not fit my lamp , fixtures inside too short.
I rang companyvandcasked for returns label, told they do not provide and to.just 'pop it back to post office' . My nurse/ carer struggled getting it to post office on a breezy day, it was so difficult to handle. Post office wanted £23.60 to return ,£22 second class.Due to weight of box and packaging , Or £9 no signature no specific time . My nurse opted for this as we wanted the huge box gone. I contacted the company and complained. Woman was rude, talking over me and saud ' You should have took it home and sent it with Evri, your fault. I explained if box had been reasonable size and weight it wouldnt have cost nearly as much . She said ' Well you should have put in smaller box' altho when i enquired I was told to send it back as it had arrived. It seems this company is only nice when buying and not when returning thru no fault if your own. My advice Avoid at all costs!!! Rude company!!!

I further contacted this company today explaining their returns policy needs looking at. That by sending out small products in a huge unnecessary box incurs excessive charges, that is more than the cost of what you are purchasing. Andrew the owner was not willing to see this point at all and not prepared to admit that by telling me to send by Royal Mail (even tho his staff member told me they use Evri as they are cheapest and it costs them £5 ..after the fact) . Sadly it seems this company is helpful when placing orders but on returns not so much...a shame considering when elderly and infirm like myself you cannot know if things are suitable until they arrive HAVING to order online. They say they have received my return and it takes 48 hrs to process a refund. Lets see how honourable they are in doing that. I shall let you know in an update.
What a shame...I thort I'd found a really good company I could repeat buy from...disappointed!
Come on Andrew please think of us elderly and disabled when you send out oversized packaging and consider providing returns pre paid postage allowed for in your costings.
You have the sales side of your company down to a fine art fix whats broken it can only do you good...surely.

Further update. I have just received my refund from thus company with a shortfall of £1.41.
The shades cost £41.81 plus £9 to return.
They refunded £40.40.
I'm £10.40 down dealing with My Green Lighting, seems the ethical name doesn't mean much as far as customer care and understanding.
What pleasure do they get penalising a pensioner by £1.41p and giving no reason. The mind boggles at the pettiness of this hard line company. Please AVOID!!

Hello - I'm sorry that you experienced a problem returning these 14 inch light shades. The parcel we sent to you was smaller than the standard Royal Mail parcel size, which has an absolute maximum size of 61x46x46 cm and it weighed less than 2kg, so you should have had no issues returning it. The cost of over £20 sounds like the Post Office was offering a more expensive Special Delivery service as this is the only service in their published price guide that would cost so much.

Your request to consider elderly and disabled customers when sending orders, is a little difficult to accommodate as we have no reason to ask our customers age, or anything else about their current condition when an order is placed via our website. Occasionally customers do contact us to make special arrangements, and we're always happy to try to accommodate any request. Regarding the packaging used: we go to great lengths to ensure that we use appropriate packaging for the products that we sell. Packaging is expensive, but not as expensive as a damaged delivery. We can be confident that you would be even more upset of the light shades you purchased had arrived damaged in transit.

As for allegations of being rude, we strongly dispute this. Perhaps you have mistaken us not being able to help with the service you received at your local post office for 'rude'.

Either way, I'm sorry these light shades were not what you wanted. When they get back to us in good condition, a refund will be issued to your original payment card.

To address your updated review about the amount refunded:
You were fully refunded for the returned products and the standard delivery service, however you were not refunded for the additional cost of the upgraded delivery service that you selected for your purchase. You used the 1st class post option rather than the cheaper, second class post option. The process is all spelled out in the terms that you agreed to when making your purchase, but to recap: You are only entitled to a refund of standard, initial delivery charges (usually, second class post, although this depends on the size and weight of the products ordered) when returning an item after deciding not to keep it.

Although you might hope for a further entitlement to additional refunds, no such entitlement exists. We apply these rules equally and fairly to all customers regardless of their age. Our mind is certainly not boggled, as we have followed all procedures correctly and you have now received a full refund for the returned products and the initial cost of standard delivery.

I've been trying to get a replacement 12v kitchen downlight for weeks. Went online found My Green Lighting and purchased what I wanted at a very reasonable price. Prompt delivery and superb communication .Excellent experience...thank you!

Brilliant company. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff

I have bought replacement bulbs from My Green Lighting for many years. I don't often write reviews, but this time I just had to. I had to phone yesterday to get help with replacing the T4 fluorescent under cabinet light fittings in my kitchen as they are no longer allowed to be sold in the UK.
The lovely lady who spoke to me, helped me to find T5 LED lighting which used exactly the same connectors using their website. She talked me through the various options and I placed my order. It was dispatched the same day by Royal Mail 24hr tracked and it arrived the following lunchtime. Absolutely fabulous service.

Avoid at all costs…

Avoid this company at all costs.

I bought three fluorescent tubes from their eBay shop and, only two of the three were in perfect working order.

The faulty tube, once heated up, constantly flickered but, My Green Lighting, refused to accept those facts. Their customer service is totally disgusting and the person was downright rude.

I returned the faulty tube through eBay’s return policy but, My Green Lighting, refused to give the full purchase price refund.

They have lied to eBay despite me having proof the tube is faulty.

Again, avoid this company at all costs as, if they sell you faulty goods they’ll just turn rude and deny all responsibility. Worse seller I’ve ever dealt with in 14 years of using eBay…

Quick, efficient & inexpensive.

Having broken the glass in a downlighter I came across My Green Lighting's comprehensive catalogue and found that a complete replacement unit was so cheap (under £3) that I ordered two. They were promptly delivered in perfect condition. I shall certainly use them again.

LED Replacement Lighting

I ordered four led under cabinet lights from this company which were delivered the following day. As advertised, they were a direct replacement for my existing fluorescent lights and were fairly easy to install.

Good service and a great price too

This is the second time I've ordered from My Green Lighting. The first time was via Amazon and all was good. This time, after checking the receipt from 2021 (I'm a private buyer, not a business) I saw that I could buy direct and that's exactly what I did. It was a better price including P&P and also, I needed to contact them by phone and the guy was helpful and knowledgable. Everything was efficient, good value and the postage was well packed and fast. I will definitely recommend them.

Excellent service and products

Speedy and useful advice to my queries via the website and a great choice of downlighters meant I placed an order, which was quickly packed and despatched. Products were good quality and exactly as described, and my electrician commented how easy they were to install. Recommend and will purchase from this company again.

Finding the right replacement for old florescent tubes.

When looking to replace old florescent bulbs and use my existing connections, this was the most informative website I found, ensuring that I could find LED replacements that fitted my existing power supply connectors. The range of product was good and the ordering and delivery process efficient.
