We bought the extending, reclaimed Derby dining table and are really happy with it. It came quickly, was very well packaged and easy to put together. The table is good quality, the extending part works perfectly and it looks beautiful in our dining room.

Very happy with the product received - it looks great in the study.

I ordered the Standford Reclaimed Wood Dining Bench and Extendable Dining Table. They are really beautiful and good quality. The whole set was good value for money too. The delivery was on time, so really couldn't ask for more.

We purchased our lovely reclaimed wood bench and extendable table in 2023 and is one of our best buys of the year. After having a full refurbishment on the kitchen, the table and bench finished the room perfectly.

The team were very helpful and were very efficient in replying to any queries I had in regards to my order. Previous negative feedback did raise some questions, but I was put at ease after communicating with the new ownership of The Modish Living Furniture Ltd.
We would highly recommend and we personally would use again.

This review is true to word, however, as a customer, we were offered a £20 voucher for taking the time to post this review and boost up their ratings. Unfortunately, this never happened. No voucher as a thank you and they have continued to ignore my emails regarding this issue.
They appear to have stopped orders, so I'm guessing they have gone into liquidation. I certainly won't be dealing with them again despite my initial review. Thank you Katie for your broken promises !!

We purchased a dining table and when it arrived the delivery men drilled through the wrong parts of the table and screwed the legs in the wrong place. As a result the large screws poked through the table top making it impossible to use the table safely and without injury. We complained and they provided another table but it was nowhere near as beautiful as the first one. (I can provide pictures of both tables) the table we now have is repurposed and uneven and rotten. There is clearly wood filler all over the table and I’m just so upset and disappointed with this table. I’m constantly getting splinters. We now have a child and it’s impossible for her to use the table safely. I do not recommend this place. AVOID

UPDATE: modish living responded to my trust pilot review under the misleading guise that they intend to resolve my problem. Unfortunately and rather insultingly, they’ve decided that they will not replace the damaged table or offer a refund (not even a partial one) and have suggested I simply place a new order for a different table. Why on earth would anyone do that!? The service has been abysmal, their products are faulty and not fit for purpose and they do NOT have their customers safety and satisfaction in mind. In fact this is absolutely of no importance to them at all based on their recent emails to me. They WERE NOT committed to resolving the matter as they misleadingly put in their response below to my review and instead have only created even more disappointment and distress. Please USE ANOTHER furniture company. Modish living are just not worth the cost, experience and stress.

Perfect Coffee Table, Exceptional Service!

I recently purchased the Derby Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table from Modish Living, and I am beyond pleased with both the product and the outstanding customer service.

Struggling with my decision the Modish Living team helped me find the ideal coffee table for my living room and the perfect gift for my partner and are home, demonstrating extensive product knowledge and a commitment to customer satisfaction. They even managed to expedite the delivery, ensuring it arrived in time for Christmas, which was a delightful surprise as i was told it would be around 5weeks.

Setting up the Derby table this week was a breeze, and its unique design and quality craftsmanship. The reclaimed wood gives it a rustic charm that complements my front room perfectly.

Be careful. Original company was liquidated in summer 2023. New company formed under new name.. didnt realise until alarm bells started ringing after receiving very questionable customer service and then started digging. The company was offering 20pc off everything sitewide but when i went to order, they quickly removed the reference to it despite the fact that i had screenshot it and sent it to them. They refused to honour their own marketing. Very strange comments on their online chat that they sell shoes and underwear which is not the case. There is no telephone number to ring and they refuse to call you even after asking them to. I feel that i have had a very lucky escape as i believe that if something went wrong post sale, they would not resolve it.. they cant even get the basics right. Very disappointed with this company especially when looking at the website you think you are buying high end products but actually after spending a little while communicating with the seller i feel that i am dealing with a one man band.

Recently bought a Dulwich Blanket Box. Delighted with service as we waited ages for it to come back into stock - got an email as soon as it was available, and it was ordered and delivered promptly. Very pleased with it too.

We ordered the Derby extending table, it had a 2-4week lead time. After 4 weeks I contacted Modish Living to find out about delivery. Unfortunately there had been an issue and was informed the order had not been processed. Obviously this was very frustrating!
However their customer service was good, they offered £100 discount or a full refund. I decided to reorder on the condition it would sent within the two weeks. They were able to meet this deadline & gave me the £100 reduction. They responded to my emails quickly and helped chase up my order when it was with couriers. The table itself is lovely & overall I am happy I persevered with order. So it was not a perfect experience but I feel they tried their best to solve problems & provide a quality customer service.

I ordered a couple of pieces of bedroom furniture, and they dispatched well within the estimate given. The delivery company was great, they were polite and friendly and carried the pieces to my bedroom as requested. The furniture itself is well made, looks great, and was easy to construct. I would happily recommend to others.

I bought my table in early October and was pleasantly surprised to receive it before the anticipated delivery date. Initially, I had reservations about ordering because of previous reviews mentioning the company's liquidation. However, under the new ownership, the experience was very positive. The owners were exceptionally accommodating and easy to communicate with.

I bought a chest of drawers last November a couple of days later was the black Friday sale making my item over £100 cheaper. After discussing with customer service they agreed that I could have the discount instead of cancelling and re ordering. It took 3 months to deliver and I got it on interest free. I then noticed the discount hadn't been applied. I contacted customer service and git a response to say the manager at the time had no right to do this. After more conversations it was agreed they would give it. I pushed fir 2 months still nothing. Esta was the ladies name. The next email I sent I had a reply stating they had ceased trading. Disgusting. I have bought a lot of items from this company but the ripped me off this time. I would never buy another item from them again

Such a shame it seems we won’t get our reclaimed table and bench ordered last month. After supposed delays and now no contact at all, it seems they’ve gone bust..paid on credit card so claiming back, suggest others affected try and do the same.

We’ve come across Hemming and Wills who’ve been really helpful and finally we have a table on the way!

Company has entered insolvency - no mention of this on the website

I've had an outstanding order since 21 Feb. I was given false hope that the item would arrive into stock and sent to me around 18 April. Upon chasing for the umpteenth time, I've since discovered the company has entered insolvency proceedings. I'm now still without the item of furniture and out of pocket.

Bought a table recently from Modish.

After four weeks it did not arrive as per agreement.

I contacted them again and was advised that they were having problems with their supplier and I would have it in a further four weeks time.

After the four weeks had expired I tried to contact them again and have received an email that an insolvency practitioer has been appointed.

Whilst their website is still active / online and they appear to be taking orders in their clearance sale...we have been advised that they actually do not have stock and will not be in a position to fulfil these orders.

My partner & i ordered table & bench 25th feb stated 2/4 wk wait after 4wks we got in touch with them they said a 2/4 delay still nothing no answering calls or emails disgrace of a company going to report as a bank scam

Dont know if anything went wrong with this company as they wont answer the phone.begining to think this is a scam,fraud even as they are still taking orders and activley advertising.do not touch with a barge pole.

I’ve had exactly the same experience as Jackie Spear in the review below.

After I placed my order, I was informed delivery would be taking longer. However I’ve not been able to get any update and we’re now 7 weeks after the order. It’s a shame since the website was recommended by friends, however I’ve emailed, called, IMed and made very clear that if there is no contact, I will be reclaiming my money.

What companies like Modish Living seem to forget is that the delivery timeframes they advertise are as much part of the contract as anything else. AVOID AT ALL COST.

I hope I can still get my table and that this can somehow be resolved. I’m just at a loss.

DREADFUL SERVICE SO FAR
I ordered a dining table on 8th April 2023 and initially received email confirmation of the order with a vague 'your order is being processed through the system and a delivery date will be confirmed to you at a later stage' message. I waited a couple of weeks and have sent them two emails where I have received automated replies to say that they aim to respond within 24 hours. No response(s) received. I then tried to ring the company and got an answerphone message referencing Covid19 and the fact that all their staff are working from home because of this so I'm wondering if this is an out-of-date message. They advertise that you can IM them but I tried this and had to complete a form to submit via email! I still haven't had a response. The lack of customer service is terrible. It doesn't take much time to respond and give some indication of when the goods might be delivered or if they're currently out of stock. Having read the reviews on here I am beginning to think that this company is no longer trading, especially having read some of the reviews on here. According to their website I can cancel the order without incurring any costs prior to delivery so I will take this action and ask for an immediate refund. This is just a warning to anyone else thinking of buying from this company.

As of 27th April I've cancelled the order and requested a full refund within five days. I will keep you posted.
