Great place to stay
The staff are really friendly and helpful. The building is lovely and situated in the middle of countryside. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast excellent.

A fantastic relaxing stay
Just back from a family weekend at Mellington Hall. It was a place we came to many many times in the 1970s with our parents in our family touring caravan, so it was a walk down memory lane with no knowledge of how our stay would be with regards to quality etc. I had planned the trip as a surprise for my sisters and WOW what a fantastic surprise. The hall itself has been beautifully restored and is immaculate. A roaring fire and a friendly face met us in the spectacular entrance hall. It was warm and full of people drinking and waiting to eat. Very atmospheric and extremely welcoming on a very cold frosty night. Our room (family room) was clean and comfortable with everything you would need for a stay away. A well equipped, very clean and warm bathroom. Comfortable beds with crisp white bedding and the most spectacular views across a pastoral landscape. The food was hot and delicious both at our evening meal and breakfast. There was a very good choice of food on the menu, making choosing fabulous and a little confusing (we wanted more than one!)
Breakfast was again hot, served beautifully and cooked really well. With every little extra you would need. But what makes Mellington Hall is the staff. So very helpful, friendly and funny too. Nothing was too much trouble and enough of them so you didn't have to wait around or look for help at any time! Oh and a gorgeous little resident corgi who knew she owned the place really!
We had a restful and relaxing stay in a warm friendly environment. But not just that, a fabulous grand building with a fantastic facade and wonderful story. The owners are doing everything to restore, upgrade and keep this beautiful and very wonderful place to spend some quality time. Cannot praise it, or it's staff enough! We are already planning our next visit, thank you!

Truly delightful Sunday at Mellington…
Truly delightful Sunday at Mellington Hall. Starting with an hour of outside Tai Chi with Alan Jeffries in a beautiful location. Delicious starter of smoked mackerel followed by 😋 roast beef, boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, parsnips, peas, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding. Huge selection of sweets. Very nicely decorated bar. Best of all, dog friendly.

What you see is not what you get
This rating relates to the unreliability of information on the Mellington Hall Country House Hotel website restaurant menus. It does not relate the quality of the food nor the service provided. The sample menus on the website are misleading. Pricing of actual menu items can be as much as 33% higher than advertised.
That said, the food quality and presentation is very good and the service at the table good.
