trage seit vielen Jahren Meindl Wanderschuhe, weil sie mir mit meinen breiten Füßen gut passen. Brauche nicht einmal die "Überweite" Comfort-Plus von Meindl. Aber die Qualität der Schuhe läßt immer mehr zu wünschen übrig:
Meindl Vakuum Men Ultra - nach 2 Jahren gehen Nähte im Zehenbereich auf
Meindl Wales 2 - nach 1,5 Jahren bröselt die Zwischensohle auseinander, Schuh ist aktuell beim Händler
Meindl Peru GTX - viel schmäler als alle anderen Modelle, für mich unbrauchbar.

Da es den Wales 2 nicht mehr gibt, habe ich den Toronto online bestellt. Das Paar hat zwei unterschiedlich lange Sohlen verbaut, Retour zum Händler. Dann den Schlern bestellt, bei dem fehlt eine Öse. Wieder zurück zum Händler. Jetzt habe ich nochmal einen Toronto woanders bestellt, der ist ok und wird gerade eingelaufen. Die Sohle ist leider sehr viel härter als beim Wales 2, wodurch mein Arthrose-Knie leider stark schmerzt. Mal sehen ob sich das beim weiteren Einlaufen noch ändern. Typ für alle Leder Goretex Schuhe - fetten! Nur so bleiben sie auf Dauer wasserdicht

I had thought Meindl was the best for walking boots. I have friends whose Meindl boots have lasted many years, and following their recommendations I was looking forward to buying a pair myself . Sadly it looks as though the quality has slipped recently. I bought a pair of nubuck boots, which cracked and started leaking only 18 months in, despite using all the recommended care products. My husband bought boots at the same time - and the sole fell off after a couple of years, not repairable because the sole is in two layers which have come apart. Both pairs had weekend hill walking, but certainly not hard use.
These are expensive boots, but in my view not worth the money.

Leider musste ich wiederholt feststellen, das Meindl jedwede Garantieleistung für ihre Wanderschuhe ablehnt. Die Sohle des Schuhs löst sich nach kurzer Zeit und der Fehler liegt natürlich nicht bei Meindl.
Ich bin es leid soviel Geld für so eine schlechte Qualität und Verarbeitung zu bezahlen. Meindl ist gesetzlich zu einer Garantieleistung verpflichtet, geht denen allerdings am ... vorbei.

Having previously used MEINDL boots successfully, I ordered MEINDLMERAN GTX walking boots from TISO onlne in July 2023. I was initially very pleased with their comfortable fit and waterproofing, using them for two or three walks per month typically Munro bagging.

In November, after only five months, I noticed that the stitching had failed on the uppers at the flex point behind the toe box. I returned the boots to the Dundee shop who sent them to MEINDL for assessment and subsequent repair. When I picked up the repaired boots in January 2025, I was also shown holes in the soles that had been glued. I had not previously noticed this second point of failure and I cannot believe that the repair will last for very long.

With five decades of Scottish mountain walking experience, I am unable to reconcile the extent of this wear and tear with the usage that I have had, I would consider this damage to be more representative of what should be expected after two or three summers and not after two thirds of one. Consequently, I can only conclude that these boots are not fit for purpose and rather than trying to persist with them I should prefer to be refunded.

I have made this request to TIso and after an initial request for photos, I have heard nothing more from them, not even acknowledging my request for an update.

Ich habe meine 20 Jahre alten Bergstiefel an die Meindl Reparaturwerkstatt geschickt, vorher habe ich ein sehr freundliches Telefonat mit einer Mitarbeiterin dort geführt. Meine Schuhe hatten nach langer vieljähriger Standzeit bei einer Schneewanderung beide Sohlen verloren.Der Eingnag meiner alten Schuhe bei der Fa. Meindl wurde mit sofort per Mail bestätigt. Ich habe die Schuhe am 16.01.2025 in Auftrag gegeben zur Reparatur der kompletten Sohlen. Dazu bekam ich eine Aufbereitung der Bergstiefel, sowie neue Schuhbänder, und ein paar neue aktive Einlegesohlen, dass zu einem Preis von 100,- Eur plus Mehrwertst. und Versand. Die Schuhe kamen heute am 24.01.25 wieder wie neu original im Meindl Karton super verpackt in der Eifel an. Das gleiche Paar Bergstiefel kostet heute 259,-. Super Qualität, super Verpackung, freundliche Mitarbeiter, schneller Versand, dazu noch günstig und ich wurde über jeden Schritt per Mail auf dem Laufenden gehalten. Welche Firma macht das denn heute noch, Leute, man muss sich nicht immer nur beschweren, wenn man freundlich ist und sich an die Regeln hält bekommt man von dieser Firma wirklich alles zu 100% zurück. Einen besonderen Dank spreche Ich einer Dame aus, die mit mir telefoniert hat, ich fühlte mich dort von Anfang an gut aufgehoben. Diese Fa. verdient meinen vollsten Respekt und 10 **********.

Nachdem ich ein Paar Meindl Schuhe 3 Jahre im Dauereinsatz (täglich) hatte, war es an der Zeit Ersatz zu kaufen.
Erste Nähte gingen auf.
Also habe ich mir ein Paar Caracas gekauft. Leider hatten diese einen von außen nicht sichtbaren Fehler. Daraufhin habe ich die Schuhe zum Schuhgeschäft zurückgebracht. Zwei Wochen später hatte ich ein neues Paar. Mal schauen, wie lange die neuen durchhalten.

j'ai contacté la maison meindl en allemagne qui m'a confirmé que c'est un site frauduleux qui utlise leur nom et qu'il n'arrive pas a faire fermé.

I ordered a pair and lost my money to a Hong Kong based company. I have contacted Meindl. They know about this fraus but for legal issues they cannot publish it on their own website. Just an advise to go to a shop 500 km away. Very poor answer.

Mangelhafte Verarbeitung ist hier seit Jahren ein Problem.Ich kann nur jedem abraten Schuhe von Meindl zu kaufen. Nach kurzer Zeit lösen sich die Nähte und die Kappen vom Schuh ab. Ich habe die Schuhe auch über Intersport gekauft und mich dort beschwert. Leider schickt der Händler die Schuhe auch nur zu Meindl und dann dauert es bis zu 5 Wochen bis mal jemand daran arbeitet. Ich hatte in dieser Zeit weder Erstaz Schuhe noch kam eine Entschuldigung vom Werk,nachdem ich fünf Wochen gewartet hatte. Ich hatte sogar noch den Sand unter den Schuhsohlen ,so wie die Schuhe abgegeben wurden. Also Service ist hier gleich null. Ich habe das Modell dann nochmal gewechselt und auch hier nach 1,5 Jahren das gleiche. Bei meiner Frau sind es auch schon das zweite Paar. Also kann ich mit Sicherheit behaupten, daß hier eine Mangelhafte Verarbeitung vorliegt.
Ich hoffe das es viele Menschen gibt, die einfach wegen der schlechten Beurteilung die Finger von dieser Firma lassen und etwas anderes kaufen. Wer bereit ist viel Geld für schlechten Service und mindere Qualität auzugeben wird sicherlich nicht enttäuscht werden.

Le mie PESSIME esperienze con Meindl sono numerose e protratte negli anni.
Ho sbagliato io a comprare varie volte i costosissimi, pessimi, e alquanto pericolosi, scarponi Meindl.
Si parte anni fa dagli scarponi Island, che speravo di usare (dopo un “rodaggio” di 3 gite sulle montagne italiane), per un trekking nella valle del Khumbu, Nepal, fino alla vetta del Kala Pattar (5644 m). Al 2o giorno di trekking, poco prima di arrivare a Namche Bazaar, la suola di uno scarpone si è completamente staccata e quella del secondo si è staccata per 1/3. Percorsi gli ultimi km con le scarpette da riposo (assolutamente non indicate per quei luoghi!), fortunatamente a Namche Bazaar ho potuto comprare un altro paio di scarponi, questa volta validi, anche se già usati da altri alpinisti e lasciati in dono durante il loro ritorno. Non avevo altra scelta!
Passiamo poi agli scarponi Makalu, con il distacco della suola dopo una decina di gite in Italia (fortunatamente non in zone a rischio!) e meno di 300 km percorsi. I Makalu inoltre hanno evidenziato un rapidissimo deterioramente del cuoio, benchè ingrassato con il miglior grasso per scarponi, con crepe nella parte anteriore.
Tralascio il resto ed arrivo al più recente “disastro” attuale: le Meindl Caracas GTX (200 euro !!!), dopo pochissimi km percorsi, non in Himalaya ma nel parco sotto casa, hanno evidenziato varie rotture/crepe passanti in varie parti della tomaia. Questo benché siano state ingrassate con il grasso specifico per scarpe/ scarponi, sempre usato.
Francamente più che cuoio sembra cartone!
Ho tentato più volte di comunicare con Meindl, inviando foto e dettagli, per avere una spiegazione di quanto accaduto, ma la risposta è sempre stata: “causa lavoro non possiamo rispondere prima di 8 settimane”.
Ad oggi, dopo decine di settimane, non “solo” 8 (che già sono indicative dell’attenzione Meindl verso i Clienti) risposte ZERO.
La mia valutazione su Meindl si riassume con l’ ultimo messaggio inviato:
“I molti euro che io ho pagato per il vostro prodotto Meindl Caracas GTX erano buoni, veri, mentre il vostro prodotto si è dimostrato PESSIMO. Ma ancora più grave è il fatto che voi non abbiate neppure la correttezza e la dignità di rispondere! Informerò tutti i miei contatti e le persone per le quali organizzo e guido nei trekking sulle montagne del mondo cosa è oggi Meindl. Ricordo che avere delle scarpe pessime come le vostre, quando si è oltre i 5000-6000 metri di altezza, può determinare incidenti mortali”.
Ovviamente io NON acquisterò mai più prodotti Meindl.

Het zoveelste paar meindl army Pro, waarvan de zool gewoon uit elkaar valt. De schoen is nieuw. Vanwege omstadigheden ongeveer 10x op gelopen gedurende 4 jaar. Leder en profiel als nieuw maar weer de tussenzool die uit alkaar valt. Voor mij dus nooit meer bergschoenen met verende tussen zool. En al zeker niet van Meindl.

Bought a pair of Meindi Boots years ago, stored under an Ottoman bed.
Cut the story short the boot sole on both are falling to pieces, £230. i cant believe it.
HYDROLYSIS happens to the sole if the boot is not worn.
Why on earth doesn't the person selling these boots inform you after 5 or 6 years your boots will fall apart, Reason why, because you would not purchase them.
i am so disappointed. I thought these will last forever.
I can't believe this company is still in business.

Meindl weiß offenbar das sich bei ihren Wanderschuhen nach einiger Zeit (bei Nichtbenutzung), die komplette Sohle ablöst. Ich kaufte die Schuhe als neu, obwohl diese laut Gutachten schon über Jahre unbenutzt, also Ladenhüter, waren. Der Mangel (abgelöste Sohlen) wurde als solcher, trotz Garantieanspruch, nicht anerkannt. Keine Reparatur, kein Schadensersatz. Mein Rat an potentielle Käufer: Bitte lasst die Finger von Meindl Schuhen, die Schuhe werden offenbar weiter mit bekannten Fehlern produziert und teuer verkauft, Kundenservice Fehlanzeige...es gibt auch noch andere Hersteller, wie ich festgestellt habe.

Avoid this scamming shoe company. Buy a reputable boot from a store where you can try it on without risk. Otherwise you may be punished for buying from them.

I was. They charged me $50 for believing in their company policies about online shopping.

This shoe business does NOT sell in stores where you can try on your expensive hiking boots and ensure they fit. I assume they do this to save on distribution costs and increase their margins/profits.

This presents the customer with a problem. The only solution is to buy 3-4 boots to try on different sizes and widths.

This is risky in terms of returns. So Meindl go to great lengths to tell you that, and I quote, purchase is "risk free."

They go on to state:

"Experience the unmatched comfort, quality and perfect fit that Meindl is known for. Order today risk free with free & easy returns. If the boots do not meet your expectations, simply send them back - no questions asked.

Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are here to ensure that your Meindl experience is nothing short of exceptional. So go ahead, take that first step towards comfort - we have you covered every step of the way."

First, wear the socks and insoles you plan to wear on the trail and lace up your boots snuggly, but not uncomfortably tight. Check to make sure the tongue and gussets are straight and snug against your feet, then walk around indoors for a while. When walking indoors, make sure there is no pinching, binding, your heel stays put and your toes are not hitting the front of the boot. If you have concerns about the fit of your boots, please email or call us and we will help determine if the fit is right for you."

This is all a lie and a total con.

I tried on 4 boots. 3 were an immediate no. Following THEIR instructions to only wear inside and to walk around a bit, the boot that was promising I wore inside for 7-8 minutes on my hardwood floors. The sole got dusty.

When I sent back, they charged my $50 "restocking fee" after online promises that I could buy risk free.

This was a lie. There was a huge risk and I was the one that had to pay for their shady business practices.

Go to a shoe shop and try boots on - and forget these cheats and con artists.

Bought Meindl Journey Mid GTX boots and within 9 months the stitching was disintegrating at the front, Seems like Meindl quality has gone downhill judging from the reviews on here. Upside? bought them from Cotswold Outdoors who gave me an immediate refund. Top company.

Shoes already good for rubbish after 1 year of slight use 1 time per week? they cost 240 euro what?

Customer service is service terrible. I recently contacted Tom Stephens from Bramwell International Ltd. He informed that my recently resoled boots, which have fallen apart after very light use and an extremely short amount of time, is be expected. I asked for more information and he explained that I should expected the soles to fail after the 12 month warranty has expired. I was very disappointed and emailed for information but these emails have been ignored.
I am now looking for replacement boots but will not buy again which is a shame as these boots have been great until they were resoled. I would like to warn others thinking of buying Meindl boots as they are great until repairs are required. Dr Gareth Davies

Qualität im steilen Flug nach unten
Die ersten Paar existieren heute noch, HAMMER Schuhe.
Das war 2018.
2022 das zweite Paar, nach nicht mal einem (!!) Jahr die Sohlen "abradiert". Selbst bei billigsten Schuhen, hab ich sowas noch nie gesehen.
2023 das dritte Paar, 2024 auch erste Klebereien, um das Leder wieder zusammenzuhalten, und erneut der "Radiergummi-Effekt" bei den Sohlen.
Tja, dit war´s.
