Extremely disappointing experience with Maybeck

My experience with Maybeck has been extremely frustrating.

They became involved in a service-charge dispute despite FirstPort being aware that I was challenging the disputed charges through the appropriate process. I have repeatedly attempted to pay the undisputed sum, with payment now having been returned six times, while additional costs have continued to be pursued.

When I asked for justification for Maybeck’s fees, I was simply told that their fees are “fixed rates and are agreed by our client”, without any meaningful explanation of how the costs claimed were incurred or justified.

Correspondence has done little to resolve what should have been a straightforward matter and has instead resulted in considerable unnecessary time and expense.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Maybeck.

This firm works for First Port property management. Both of these firms are scoundrels. They work outside the law. We have 3;properties where we need to pay service fees to First Port. When payment is made they deposit all the moneys into one account so as to give it a credit of over £10,000.00, and the other two have a debit balance. First Port then send these two accounts to their sculduggery associates so as to obtain illegal fees and charges.
First Port has the highest level of complaints for any company in the UK.
My advice pay them nothing for legal fees and other charges, because they are scared to go to court. Any magistrate will just through them out.

Just a complete bunch of vultures. I lost my job in December and didn't return to work until April. I fell into arrears on all my priority bills in that time and both Maybeck and Firstport (a company that changes it's name so often following legal disputes that I assume the people working there have to update their LinkedIn more often than Farage has update his party name) refused to make any kind of allowance. They just send me a letter once a month and throw another £200 on it. They could put another £10,000 on it, it doesn't make it any more payable. We are in July right now and my ground rent on a 2 bedroom flat in the backend of nowhere has more than doubled. But at least these greedy cats are getting cream.

I can't imagine what it must feel like to work here. To be nothing more than a vessel for the filthy greed of men who wouldn't care if you lived or died. All for a measly crumb from their table. What a sorry state this country has become. I'd be ashamed to have my name attached to these vile, theiving bureaucrats. But alas, I'm a man of principle in a nation that has long since done away with them.

First Port bully boys who just add charge after charge for nothing.

I have worked with the team for the past few months now, and I have been impressed with their professionalism, speed of service, and response time. They are always available either by phone, email and even in person. An easy team to work with, I would highly recommend Maybeck Collections.

I have been working with Maybeck Collections for several years, and they are an outstanding company. Throughout that time, Terryl Jones has been absolutely amazing – always efficient, professional, and a pleasure to deal with. Her attention to detail and quick response times makes everything run smoothly. I can’t recommend Maybeck Collections and Terryl and Laura highly enough.

Absolutely shocking company. They work with a company called FirstPort. FirstPort is a service company for housing estates etc. When they dont carry out the work they add huge amount of admin charges and then send the debt to Maybeck Collections to collect. They are both owned by the same people. Also Maybeck Collections shouldn't be trading as they are a dormant company. This is fact on Company House. Be very careful!!!

Terrible company to deal with.

They are the the gangster of London.

I have never received the ground rent bill from Innovas and I was late for payment and Innovas has forwarded the case to Maybeck.

No one answer the phone call.

You need to pay really high admin charges.

Absolute con artists. Same company as FirstPort property management company (if you can call it that) I mean I am not sure what we are paying them £130 per month for…nothing… they “transferred” my debt to Maybeck even though they are the same company and then added on £1400 in fees. Rude staff - typical lizards that work for debt collection companies.

Can we not give a zero? This company is connected to FirstPort. They pretend to look into what is passed on from FirstPort and ignore it all and continue to threaten you with court action. They don't look in to the references provided with regards to payment and proof of anything is just brushed off. Completely incompetent and shouldn't exist.

This company is a joke, they think it's ok to send letters out to scare monger young couples and family's to pay bills for work that has never been taken out. This has been going on for years now and they are all made up amounts as they change every month ( i don't mean just going up, had a bill for £900 then a month later £700 then £400 and now £1134) they have made up numbers from the get go. i asked for proof of contract and signed agreement and they sent me over a form that was half filled out and not even signed by me they just added my name in print at the top!. this company should be shut down for Forgery and scare mongering!! shocking business model and the face they are owned by first port and doing this has to be an conflict of interest!!

Absolutely disgusting company. They affiliated with FirstPort Property Management company and that says it all.

In connection with Firstport - Firstport returned my payment with a cryptic reference without any communication or explanation. Once huge fees had been added to my account by Maybeck they contacted me with an outrageous bill a month later. A completely underhand and tactic from both Firstport and Maybeck to inflate the amount due without the customers knowledge. There was no intention of rectifying initial issues, just mount up charges and then contact. I cannot believe this is legal. Truly disgusting.

I tried to discuss my debt with them in an attempt to whether have some sort of discount or at least to have a payment break as we're experiencing financial difficulties, instead Maybeck Collections invoiced me for extra £195 for setting a payment plan to pay in 3 months. Seriously?! What help is this to charge £195 to pay my debt of £685 in three months, NOT YEARS!

First Port sent me one invoice in 5 years and that's it, nothing else. Soon after that they gave my debt to Maybeck Collections without giving me a phone call or an email to check if I am aware of the debt. This increased the amount I owe of course. As they told me it's my fault that First Port didn't send me invoices so far. WHAT?!

Absolutely no care even if you struggle to put food on the table their response is the same "It's your fault, you signed the contract, you have to pay". How about providing the services First Port is charging us for?

The only explanation I can find is that they abuse the law loopholes/flaws to fraudulently get into people's pockets. Whilst the law technically is on their side, this is absolutely unethical and should be punished as it decreases people's belief in government's regulatory efficiency and adequacy of implemented laws. I hope government will start to properly regulate this sector and stop this fraudulent behaviour.

Also when you contact them they tell you to talk with First Port, then First Port tell you to contact Maybeck Collections and both of them give different explanations why the invoice is this much.

Maybeck Collections works with related, disgraced company FirstPort to rob it's customers / leaseholders with extortionate fees added on to late payments.

These clowns need tougher regulation.

Awful company, owned by the same outfit that owns the disgraced property management firm FirstPort.

They work together to rinse FirstPorts customers to add on around £600 to a £400 debt.

The additional charges are unreasonable and not lawful for a late payment. Fight them and do not give in.

They are sharks, just like FirstPort (featured on rip off Britain twice).
