By far the worst service provider in New Zealand, that is if you even receive service.
I waited 4 weeks for delivery, but only received delivery because I chased them up. Then they debited my account even before I received delivery and when I questioned the payment, I dealt with the rudest and most unprofessional admin lady. She is arrogant and has not interest to hear you out and treat you like dirt. Matagas has no idea what customer service look like and are not bothered about customer satisfaction.

We initially had a standing delivery; however this was deleted by someone at Matagas without our knowledge. Since that happened months ago, it has been near impossible to get gas delivered without constantly following up. No one answers the phone - it just rings out and disconnects - no one calls back when they say they will, no one responds to emails, the live chat regularly gets disconnected.

They are impossible to get hold of, and when you do, they give vague answers on the ETA of deliveries.
I called 4 times yesterday to follow up, was told I would get a call back within 20mins. Didn't receive a call. I tried to phone this morning - no answer. Tried the live chat, was told our delivery was coming, asked for email confirmation - oh, the live chat has been disconnected and there is no one to talk to.

The absolute worst case of "customer service" I have ever experienced. I will ensure we change gas providers for our next construction project.

Waited for 20 days for gas delivery, complained on the phone they said we should change company.
After switching company they did not refund the money we paid for 2 gas cylinders.
Still waiting for the refund after a month.

Matagas very simply does not care, at all!

“Customer service” consistently replies with generic responses, it’s very clear they hold no regard for their already eroded reputation.

Avoid the frustration and go elsewhere.

0 star service , have been with matagas for over 5years and they had be good and on time but recently the customer service is awful rude and careless and delivery time almost a MONTH !! I ordered on 3rd June and today is 29th June no delivery lucky I had a backup 8kg that is helping , I’m definitely changing company the cheap $5 isn’t worth the stress and annoying customer and lies ! I won’t ever be advised anyone to join

Never switch to Matagas by seeing their prices. They are giving more stress than money. If they are unable to deliver gas on time, they actually need to shut the company. Earlier their turn around time for delivery was 5 days but now they changed to 10 days, without informing their customer. I booked the gas and they delivered gas after 15 business working days. In between I run out of another gas cylinder too. So, I tried calling them and their call waiting time is 25 to 40 mins, and on top they replied we don’t know when we will deliver the gas. So, only option I left with to bought 8 kg gas cylinder. The callers are too rude in customer service. Really bad services. I am facing the same problem repetitively.

MataGas has appalling services. We had switched to MataGas in Feb 2024. Their services match Third World country suppliers. If you place an order their standard delivery times are 7-15 working days. I placed my order on 11June today is 22/06 and my back up cylinder as well has run out and the delivery has still not arrived. Now I do not have hot running water. Well if they cant cater to growing needs they need to shut the Company down. Winter is the month when people run out quickly & they aren't able to cope with growing demands of a business. I have switched suppliers. Good riddance.

Used to be good with Matagas but lately one of the staff was really rude and we're not able to solve our issue. It was a pretty simple task, to change the empty cylinder with the new one but sometimes they would take the half full one. We complained about this but the manager undertaking the complaints was too rude to us and we realised there is no point in wasting your time with that person. Would not advise anyone to go with this company.

DO NOT GO WITH MATAGAS.
Most Disgusting, Dishonest and worst gas company to deal with. I was with them for 7 months on and really regretted it every second of those 7 months. I would give them 0 stars but not possible. There was an issue with my cylinders they refused to do anything about it so I had to go from Hamilton to Auckland just to sort everything out. I told them a month in advance to pick up the cylinders on a specific date. It still took them a month of me following up every day to pick up the empty cylinders so the landlord wouldn't chase me. No communication at all.
One more thing Do not trust anything written on their website.
I have proof of everything i am writing down. Just avoid this company.
